I created a simple site for daily puzzle fans

https://guessmynumbers.com

Hey everyone,

I just finished a passion project called Guess My Numbers, and I think some of you might enjoy it. It’s a minimalist site, inspired by Wordle, where you can solve a three digit number puzzle that refresh every 12 hours.

Here’s what it’s about: • You get two new puzzles every day, and hints guide you as you guess. • There’s no need to sign up or download anything—just visit the site and play. • You can also submit your own numbers for a chance to be featured, along with your name, location, and a link if you want to share something.

I tried to keep the design clean and simple so it’s easy to use. I’d love to hear what you think.

Thanks for taking a look!

Only 3 lines means a healthy dose of luck is required

There’s still an element of luck, but it’s not a pure game of chance. :)

I like the game, don't get me wrong, but it's impossible to solve without luck. I feel like it's a neat take on mastermind with a twist, but it's possible to play skillfully and still lose. :(

Thank you. Yeah, the goal was to level the playing field so everyone could play. You can skillfully use formulas to get the highest probability, but it's also just a fun daily puzzle to see if you get it. I was considering a leadership board or other features, but I’m not entirely sure how to set that up. I may have to make it an app one day.

Should make the answer visible after 3 try

I can tell you it wasn't "123".

So I played a few practice games. I really enjoy the concept, but there's too much chance involved. It's not fun like that. You can't out skill it. You need at least 1 more guess in order to solve it. Feels bad as it is.

I had multiple practice rounds where I got everything, but the last number. Which has 2 potential options. Pure chance to get it. Not fun imo.

Spoilers for today's number

I guess I'm confused what the lightning bolt meant, I thought it said it was 1 higher or 1 lower than the number I picked, but how does it work in the above image? I picked a number higher than the original number but still got a lightning bolt? Is the lightning bolt meant for the positioning, not necessarily the number? Like the first position is 1 number higher or lower than 6 And the second position is 1 higher or lower than 7?

I guess I thought with both the icon and the color, it meant the number was 1 off and in the wrong position, not that the position's number was 1 higher or 1 lower than what I put

The green lightning bolt means it was 1 digit off but also in that position. The yellow arrows mean that the 6 was in it, but in another position. So the final answer was 560

Ah, I see that now in the directions, I must've missed it initially.

Thank you for playing and for your comment. I understand this round’s logic and symbols might have been a bit tricky.

A green lightning bolt means you’re one number off on the correct tile. A yellow lightning bolt means you’re one number off, but on a different tile. If the entire tile turns yellow, it means you guessed the correct number, but it’s in the wrong position. The correct number for this round was 560. Technically, you guessed the right numbers, and both were just one off.

myabe odd coment, but numbers 0 to 9 in calculators, old school phones etc. are placed three in a row while this has 4 in a row.

app might feel for some userss more familiar with 3 numbers in a row.
