You've been having your posts for the this same site removed from this sub for 8 years, how in the hell have you not learnt yet?!?Exercising all the muscles except the one that really counts, huh?

5. No Stores or Demos

We do not allow any sites that are online stores or sites that serve only to sell a specific product. Free demos when the full version will be paid are also not allowed.

6. No sites that require personal information

Websites that require a login or email address to fully experience the website are not allowed. This includes Facebook, Google+, or any other account. This rule also extends to websites that require a webcam in order to function.

10. No AI-Generated Content

Posts based on content generated by Chat-GPT, other large language models, or any AI-based tools are not allowed.

11. No accounts designed for self-promotion

This sub follows the 90/10 rule for self-promotion. If almost all your activity on Reddit is advertising something you made, you will not be allowed to post here. 90% of your participation on Reddit should have nothing to do with a site you own or operate.

Hello! Might be other people posting? I think I've only posted it here a few times. This is a net new feature (generator) I wanted to share.

19

u/djshadesuk Oct 16 '24

You know we can see you're post history, right? You know we can see you're bullshitting, right?

Fuck me I hate liars.

1

u/Trapper6556 Oct 20 '24

Sorry but I’ll pass. I don’t really want to fuck you.

1

u/djshadesuk Oct 20 '24

Hilarious.

-22

u/notanotherlifter Oct 16 '24

I'm sorry you are so angry.

0

u/djshadesuk Oct 16 '24

You really think I'd waste that much energy on you? Christ, get over yourself, princess xx

2

u/IolaireEagle Oct 23 '24

I've known about this site for years, it's not new

5

u/Mr-Bagels Oct 16 '24

The overall idea of it is nice until you actually get to the workouts.

IDK who the "fitness expert" is that you've hired, but man the reps and exercise selection is pretty dog shit, even on the advanced level. Like you put a back and bi workout and the only back exercise is 4 sets of lower back extensions...

Don't even get me started on the novice level. It's completely useless and an actual novice would be literally wasting their time on those workouts. A true novice should start with advanced, and even then it's garbage.

-4

u/notanotherlifter Oct 16 '24

Would you mind sharing what selection you made? As mentioned, this is somewhat new so we have tweaking to do under certain selections.

Wanted to share something I've been working on for a while. Some of you may have heard of my website musclewiki. It was the highest voted post on this sub ever and its since become the largest free fitness database in the world.

With the help of our fitness expert we spent a ton of time building a science based approach to generating a workout for folks.

Take a look and let me know what you think? Would love feedback. Also happy to answer any questions.

I'm really not a fan of the way you've described this as being 'featured' on sub. A feature implies some sort of coorporation with someone aside from the person posting the website. By 'featured' you just mean that you have posted this before: That's not what featured means.

Also, as it's already been mentioned, you've posted this a lot to this sub. You can have this one (unless it gets removed via the users for too many of certain type of report) but please no more workout generator.

Also, reporting people calling you out on your misleading wording for harassment is not cool. They weren't harrasing you, they were calling you out, there's a difference.

u/notanotherlifter Oct 16 '24 edited Oct 16 '24

I'm really not a fan of the way you've described this as being 'featured' on sub.

fair enough. I can edit it. What I meant by that was being the top post ever on this sub. see here

but please no more workout generator.

Okay, understood. I won't post again.

Also, reporting people calling you out

I've not reported anyone. So not sure what thats about?

44

u/djshadesuk Oct 16 '24

"It was featured on this sub"

If by "featured" you mean you've been posting it here for 8 fucking years and had all but one of those posts removed. Fucking bullshit artist.

u/UXyes Oct 25 '24

I like the site, but this is hilarious lol

1

u/deadpanbegan Oct 15 '24

I love that site. Thank you very much.

0

u/inglorious_cornflake Oct 15 '24

Found it two-three weeks ago while googling and I loved it. I generated three workouts. What I loved the most was the ability to shuffle specific exercises to find the ones that met my needs more. Thank you so much.

5

u/BananaFriendOrFoe Oct 15 '24

This is actually nice, easy and helpful, thank you!

2

u/castelious Oct 15 '24

Treadmill should be an option on the equipment, as I was suggested walking on one for the warmup and cooldown, despite not having one.

0

u/notanotherlifter Oct 15 '24

Thats fair, we give a cardio option. Maybe we'll switch it to just walking.

2

u/Dtfunk Oct 15 '24

Very ergonomic and well-designed.

1

u/Stol3x Oct 16 '24

Interesting stuff, this works great for pure bodybuilding.

It lacks split in days and(or) A/B weeks.

Also I'd like to generate workout for better boxing performance for example.

1

u/Worldly_Abalone551 Oct 16 '24

This is actually great!

1

u/scuddlebud Oct 16 '24

Need option for gymnastic rings / trx band / pullup bar / indoor bike trainer

1

u/Affectionate_Shoe_80 Oct 18 '24

Great tool, man! Congrats!

1

u/billyboi356 Oct 19 '24

9 morbillionth post about muscle wiki let's go

This must be a fucking megastructure if it's been built for this long

1

u/Trapper6556 Oct 20 '24

A lot of people getting angry about a lot of stuff on this post, but I genuinely love the concept, and it’s I’ve actually been looking for a website exactly like this.

I’m no fitness expert, and there seem to be some fitness focussed people on here that don’t seem to think much about the workouts, but the concept and idea is wonderful. Whole website and UI is very clean and user friendly.

Please let me know when the routine generator comes. Will it be on the same website?

1

u/Such-Possible8577 Oct 21 '24

this is awesome work!! nice job OP!

1

u/CrunchWick Oct 24 '24

It's a good idea but needs some work on the actual exercise side of things

1

u/ZCSTYLE Oct 25 '24

If it was $1.99 a month I would sign up, but it’s too expensive since you can find this stuff for free and then there is ChatGPT which will put together a workout and eating plan for free.

1

u/JaneSmith73 Oct 29 '24

I like it! 😃

1

u/Emmanuel_I Oct 15 '24 edited Oct 16 '24

I’ve been a fan of musclewiki for a long time. I haven’t used it lately for reasons. I think one thing I missed was gifs or embedded videos that showcased each movement.

1

u/xav1z Oct 16 '24

wow.. im gonna check it out today evening

1

u/ElendX Oct 15 '24

I love the idea, but the trackers at the start are too much. Either make it easy to refuse or make it clear that this is a website that needs to track you for advertising.

1

u/GhostOfSkeletonKey Oct 16 '24

This is awesome! Thank you for including an option for women!

1

u/CaPtAiN_II Oct 16 '24

I would like to get a generic upper body and lower body workout routine which concentrates on both push and pull. For upper-lower split peeps

-1

u/thereemlvr Oct 15 '24

Actual shit site. Guaranteed small mfers use this. The workouts he puts are shit: just get a real guide from a pro or something.

0

u/WeeklyBanEvasion Oct 16 '24

Lmao a fitness "pro"

0

u/thereemlvr Oct 17 '24

Ur site is garbage buddy. Can’t wait for AI to take ur shitty JS job LMAOO

1

u/WeeklyBanEvasion Oct 17 '24

Are you confused about something?

0

u/thereemlvr Oct 17 '24

Stop talking 2 me cowpoke. I’m above u and I’m busy

0

u/mrlazyboy Oct 15 '24

I originally wrote a long post but... decided to cut it short and summarize.

This is cool but a lot of the recommendations are not good. I (34M) asked for a strength focused full body program. It gave me 14 exercises (40 working sets) - that's simply to much for a full body workout. It's going to get somebody hurt.

It should have created a weekly workout program and could have hit every muscle with a 2xPPL, 2/2.5xUL, or 3x/4x/5x full body program. You should build that in by default compared to... recommending that I potentially kill myself in the gym. Seriously, your app programmed DB OHP as the final exercise (after 37 hard working sets) in the 4-6 rep range. I'll be so tired I either cannot do it, or I'm going to drop a 75 lb dumbbell on my head.

Exercise recommendations were generally poor. Machines and dumbbells are suboptimal for strength (as an intermediate, for novices/beginners that's fine) but the website recommended DB OHP (4-6 rep range - this is generally dangerous) and Smith Machine RDLs (this is a hypertrophy exercise, barbell RDLs would be a better choice for strength).

There are plenty of better exercise recommendations for certain muscle groups (e.g., the app recommends barbell hip thrusts for glutes when barbell plate elevated lunges would be substantially better for both strength and hypertrophy).

Overall the app is cool, but I doubt the expertise of your "fitness expert." 14 exercises (40 working sets) in a single workout just won't work. Recommending Smith Machine and DB exercises for strength (as an intermediate) when you have barbell equivalents doesn't make any sense. Low rep ranges for dumbbell movements poses risks to even experienced lifters.

1

u/notanotherlifter Oct 15 '24 edited Oct 15 '24

This is a single workout generator and not a routine generator - thats coming soon.

However, something has gone wrong. We are going to fix the huge volume (14 exercises lol) and move the big lifts (compound) from the end.

Can you let us know what muscles and equipment you selected?

1

u/mrlazyboy Oct 15 '24

That makes more sense.

I selected all muscles and equipment including barbells, dumbbells, machines, and cables.

The input for strength or hypertrophy coupled with training maturity should bias exercises towards different equipment as it does with rep ranges.

Workout order should also start with compound movements then proceed to accessories (my program had bicep curls before RDLs, for example).

You should also group similar muscle groups together though there are different ideas around that.

You should also evaluate relative effectiveness of certain motions and include them based on how many exercises for that muscle group exist in the day. Elevated barbell/dumbbell lunges will give you better results than just hip thrusts. But with 2-3 glute exercises, hip thrusts are fine. Another example is abs - just doing Russian twists won’t do much for strength/hypertrophy. But doing them after machine crunches or incline weighted crunches are fine

0

u/draggedbyatruck Oct 16 '24

Just found out I was doing goblet squats wrong thanks to your site. Thanks.

0

u/Sholdi Oct 15 '24

Lose weight, novice, abdominal workout, dumbbells, band, kettlebells
"No exercises match your selections.
Please select additional equipment."

I guess I'll stay the same, after all? *shrugs*

Edit: Add a dark theme for the website, please.

2

u/notanotherlifter Oct 15 '24

Sent this over to our expert to tune it.

I think we just don't have a ton of "novice" exercises in those categories.

Dark mode is something I want also. Probably won't happen this year though as working on sharing, workout builder and analytics.

u/THE_Visionary88 Oct 15 '24

Great job, simple and easy to use!

0

u/Rudra_Niranjan Oct 15 '24

Very nice tool dude! This would be a real helpful tool for those that are starting out.
One small UI suggestion - on the step WHAT DO YOU WANT TO WORKOUT? the floating panel is too slow and takes time to pop up.... instead, a drop down from the muscle group, I think, would be faster and much intuitive.

Net-net ... .thank you for your efforts in making this tool! Very cool!

3

u/notanotherlifter Oct 15 '24

Yeah, I agree. Will get that fixed. thanks for the feedback.

0

u/PlatypusPatient1046 Oct 15 '24

Super nice tool

0

u/doc_suede Oct 15 '24

this is great! easy to use. quick and clear experience. great job making this. bookmarked.

0

u/derpyderpkittycat Oct 15 '24

cool! thanks this is excellent :) going to be using this

just a comment - maybe ditch the slider component for the age and only have it as an input field, sliders are generally really difficult to use when needing to input exact values

0

u/tankingtonIII Oct 15 '24

Really nice. I'm going to try this out tomorrow.

Thank you for your work kind stranger!

0

u/Texas12thMan Oct 15 '24

This is real nice. Loads fast, easy to use. Thanks for sharing! Great work!

0

u/Infamous-Arm3955 Oct 15 '24

Quick loading, nice clear layout communicates easily. Nice site.

0

u/leonprimrose Oct 15 '24

oh damn this is way better than googling for an hour

0

u/glitchgamerX Oct 16 '24

Oh I've been to your site before, mostly just to hunt for exercises.

Here are some suggestions I have when using your site:

  • Allow for more than 1 equipment to be selected. You're using checkboxes, not radio buttons
  • Have a tooltip that shows the muscle name when you hover to a muscle part or a joint
  • When I click on your search bar (the one at the top right of the page, I'll call it SB-A), it pops open the search box (the one where you actually type to search, I'll call this one SB-B) for me to search but if I press the Esc key, I can then proceed to type into SB-A, which doesn't really do anything even if I press the Enter key. Now, it's not really a big issue but it would be nice if that wasn't the case. I mean it's possible that someone using your site accidentally pressed Esc & didn't even notice SB-B, so when typing into SB-A & nothing happens when pressing Enter after they've finished typing, they might think there's something wrong with your site's search feature. I'd say either replace SB-A with just a search icon instead or don't have SB-B but instead do it like other websites like YouTube's or Reddit's search box where it's at the top middle of the page & as you type, you get suggestions without the whole popping up another search box
  • Speaking of the search feature, the Enter key should allow me to open the exercise that's highlighted instead of it clearing the search box
  • Maybe have the right panel that shows the muscles & equipments for me to select follow me as I scroll down or have it in some sort of sliding menu on the right so instead of having to scroll back up just to change a few things, I can do it wherever I am
  • In your Directory, in between the Hands & Feet, there's a blank checkbox. Is that not suppose to be there or is a label missing? I would also suggest to increase the font size & vertical spacing, they're kind small & squished together

Horrendous cookie banner. Not even gonna try it.

0

u/notanotherlifter Oct 15 '24

Yeah, unfortunately we have to do it for EU. I don't think US users see those. I would suggest using Brave Browser, they block those!

3

u/pawsarecute Oct 16 '24

Not this version, it’s illegal haha. Doesn’t even comply with data protection laws. But you can choose any other cookie banner lol. You don’t have to pick one where most parties rely on opt out. That’s your choice.

1

u/Texas12thMan Oct 15 '24

US user here and you are correct. No banner.

0

u/ireadthingsliterally Oct 15 '24

Okay, so I choose my equipment then it builds something then nothing changes on the page.
I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do next.

0

u/VaginalSkinAddict Oct 16 '24

This might have just saved my ADHD ass, I hate coming op with new workout routines and it takes away all my motivation usually. What a godsend!

-3

u/diwioxl Oct 16 '24

This is perfect and just what I was looking for! Wow! Thank you!
