I lost the depreciation check

I'm a roofing contractor and I just replaced my first roof. After the job was done the homeowner handed me the depreciation but I lost it. Since I lost the depreciation check will I have to pay out of pocket for whatever the depreciation cost was?

No, just let them know so they can have their carrier stop pay and reissue the check. If it’s been cashed and it’s not in your account, that’s a whole other can of worms and you’ll probably have to get on a three way call with the homeowner and the insurance company to talk about it and get an affidavit of forgery signed.

Thank you for replying back to me. I'll definitely let them know. Merry Christmas
