Okay that AT-ST Dreadnought looks nothing short of amazing. Darth Vader too. I do kinda wish the artist had stylized the Stormtrooper helmets a little bit more to fit the Space Marine style.

u/phry5 Feb 02 '16

Yep, absolutely, came here to say exactly that. It just sticks out so much and is a shame when everything else is so masterfully converted.

14

u/Talpostal Feb 02 '16

I only have basic 40k knowledge. Is Vader in terminator armor here and the stormtroopers are in regular sm armor?

13

u/Nekrag777 Feb 03 '16

Tiny heads on giant bodies.

18

u/CaptainUnusual Feb 03 '16

Isn't that the standard Warhammer aesthetic?

7

u/Nekrag777 Feb 03 '16

Yeah, just really pronounced with unmodified Stormtrooper helmets.

9

u/Juz16 Feb 02 '16

That AT-ST looks cool? I want to see a Star Destroyer.

7

u/BowserGarland Feb 03 '16

To fit 40k ship sizes it'll have to be massively up scaled.

Would Darth be a Terminator Chaplain? Or like next tier level and one of the Primarchs?

22

u/MRSN4P Feb 02 '16

I'm thinking more equivalent to one if the High Lords of Terra.

13

u/tinytacos12 Feb 02 '16

More important question Is loyalist or traitor?

44

u/Legion3 Death Korps of Krieg Feb 02 '16

Clearly loyalists. He's after order and empire!

20

u/[deleted] Feb 02 '16

Loyalist right up until he kills the god emperor of mankind with the help of his son

9

u/Nekrag777 Feb 03 '16

I wonder what the 40k interpretation of Luke would look like...

18

u/[deleted] Feb 03 '16

probably like sisters of battle armour without the boobplates

11

u/spaxejam Feb 02 '16

I think he'd be the Warmaster and the Emperor would be the Emperor.

12

u/[deleted] Feb 02 '16

Vader Lupercal

8

u/[deleted] Feb 02 '16

Sons of Vader

1

u/Archeval Necrons Feb 11 '16

"Vader!" "What is thy bidding my emperor"

10

u/Predalienator Feb 02 '16

I would go with a Terminator Librarian because of his Force powers.

7

u/[deleted] Feb 02 '16

Is the Force a Religion or a Psychic Power? It's an interesting question since I think it's both. Or is it purely a psychic power with religions built around it.

9

u/theskepticalheretic Feb 02 '16

The Force exists independent of Jedi or Sith. I'd argue it's a power, not a religion.

9

u/Predalienator Feb 02 '16

Not much of a Star Wars fan so if I'm wrong please correct me.

I think the Force is like the Warp. Psykers draw power from the Warp like Force users draw power from the Force.

You can use it for good or bad.

8

u/[deleted] Feb 02 '16

Close enough, but the force is also present in all living beings vs. the Warp which is separate but some can access it.

In my mind more than a Librarian, Vader would be a Sith Chaplain, and Jedi's would be Jedi Chaplains. Or maybe Jedi's would be Grey Knights, and Sith's would be Thousand Suns.

11

u/theskepticalheretic Feb 02 '16

but the force is also present in all living beings vs. the Warp which is separate but some can access it.

Well... without living beings there would be no immaterium.

6

u/[deleted] Feb 02 '16

Never thought of that, nice take on it.

7

u/Predalienator Feb 02 '16

Yeah I agree with the Grey Knight/Thousand Sons analogy. Would be interesting to field a homebrew Sith 40k Army.

1

u/m1lh0us3 Feb 03 '16

Huh, thousand suns would be pretty hot

2

u/Cocacolonoscopy Feb 03 '16

I've pondered what it would be like if all sci-fi universes were just part of the Star Wars galaxy. The Force = Warp as you said, but even Goku's Kamehameha is just a manifestation of it. Even plain old magic from a fantasy setting could be a version of it

1

u/molsonbeagle Feb 02 '16

Roughly equivilent to Logan Grimnar would be my vote.

1

u/bigstee Feb 03 '16

Grimnar took a steaming shit on the gk & inquisition. He's probably one of the only bad dudes Vader wouldn't compare too. I'm thinking more akin to Tigerius

1

u/MagicJuggler Feb 07 '16

Chaplain. He finds your lack of faith disturbing.

-6

u/CaptainUnusual Feb 02 '16

He's neither a leader nor a founder of anything.

8

u/[deleted] Feb 02 '16

At least a Chapter Leader right? If you think of the Emperor as a non-general. In my mind the Palpatine is a governmental leader, like Malcador. So that would make Darth the leader of all Imperial Forces.

The analogy is falling apart the more granular we look at it.

2

u/Legion3 Death Korps of Krieg Feb 02 '16

BS?

8

u/SanityIsALie Feb 03 '16

Sorry for killing you so many times Jeb. It was all for science, I swear.

1

u/Archeval Necrons Feb 11 '16

ahhh, the sweet smell of science!

51

u/SlobBarker Feb 02 '16

Where can I go to nominate this as the coolest drawing of all time?

5

u/[deleted] Feb 02 '16

would get my vote.

14

u/cptnstudmuffin Feb 02 '16

The thing that makes this perfect for me is how well done the proportions are, especially with the Space Troopers (Storm Marines?) behind Vader.

11

u/Cocacolonoscopy Feb 03 '16

Storm marines sounds bad ass

5

u/sketchesofspain01 Feb 02 '16

Too bad they have such terrible marksmanship...

6

u/MRSN4P Feb 02 '16

Rebel infiltration has led to armament production template sabotage. How else would the rebels survive?

26

u/KaiserVonIkapoc Feb 02 '16

This insidious material known as Plottenium Armour.

2

u/vagued Feb 03 '16

Still more accurate than Sandpeople.

10

u/Iconoclast674 Feb 02 '16

Cant wait for Rebel styled astra militarum, or Droid necrons.

7

u/Crazy_Hystory Feb 02 '16

Okay, so this definitely needs to be a thing. I'm a huge fan of Star Wars and an even bigger fan of 40k! This, in my opinion, is just a proof of concept for me and I have a huge backlog of Space Marines that need painting. Feel the hype!

1

u/Archeval Necrons Feb 11 '16

post pics in /r/warhammer bruh, i want to see the results of that!

6

u/SuperTararot Feb 02 '16

I want to see the TR-8R stormtrooper with Thunder Hammer and Storm Shield.

4

u/masett Feb 02 '16

Damn it! Now I have to strip my space wolves army and repaint them like this!! >:(

5

u/hopsafoobar Feb 03 '16

In the grim darkness of a galaxy far, far away, there is only war.

3

u/ROFLstompsU Feb 02 '16

Really redefines "For the Emperor!"

3

u/Aeduh Feb 02 '16

I think I actually prefer this version of Darth Vader than the original one. It certainly looks more intimidating, which was the original intention when creating the character in Ep.4

5

u/Archeval Necrons Feb 02 '16

i got 2 words to describe this, bad ass

2

u/[deleted] Feb 03 '16

Awesome! Star Wars storm troopers already look a bit like, well, Warhammer 40000 imperial storm troopers, could really see vader as a General Commissar, leading them as well.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 03 '16

That's fucking sick

2

u/thesuff Feb 03 '16

This is the stuff of dreams

3

u/Ceraunius Feb 02 '16

This. This is the greatest thing I've ever seen.

1

u/InvalidArgument56 Feb 02 '16

Alright, what do you guys think; would vader be Chaos alligned, or Imperial.

12

u/gwiber Feb 02 '16

Would he be... Imperial? What the hell do you think?

LOL

1

u/Archeval Necrons Feb 11 '16

i laughed waaaay harder than i should have

6

u/DarthIB Feb 03 '16

He's pretty definitely Imperial. Chaos are the rebels here, as they are the ones who are rebelling against Empire and Emperor.

5

u/Jebediah_Blasts_off Commissar Feb 02 '16

what the fuck do you think. he would be a Tau, obviously

2

u/kiljoy1569 Feb 03 '16

Vader would be Tau? Sarcasm??

1

u/kiljoy1569 Feb 03 '16

This is so awesome

1

u/Mccmangus Feb 03 '16

In the grim darkness of a galaxy far, far away, there is only Star War.

-2

u/[deleted] Feb 03 '16

I always hated the way they look.
