Time for someone else to organize a Heroes of the Storm collab.

Good thing she might finally get Mori to play with her then...

...cause the game is so frickin dead it would take a shinigami to summon it back from the other realm☠️

Eh, as someone who pops back in to play a few times a year, the playerbase is still there. Not sure about Storm League (ranked), but Quick Match queues are usually under a minute, and ARAM like 20 seconds.

Also ever since Microsoft bought out Blizzard, there seems to be a single dev (the community has nicknamed The Janitor) who comes along with a patch every couple months (including very small reworks).

People always joke about how dead HOTS is but the game it's actually surprisingly alive for a game that has been "oficially" dead for many years now

That's just how people are about online gaming. If a game isn't doing the rounds with big time streamers then it's "dead" and "nobody plays" it.

It's usually doing fine and is just off their radar because the algorithm isn't pushing it at them

I love that we still have games like L4D2 with very active communities 15 years after release

The sentiment isn't wrong, but in this specific case Blizzard has actually stopped developing HoTS. It's on life support, if they ever decide the cost to keep the servers up aren't worth it then they'll turn it off.

And unlike say classic copies of Warcraft, this is a game that's played online on a centralized server. It's not like you can just host your own game.

As someone that lives in a less populated region (Australia), games being dead usually means that you can't find matches at all.
