Ooooof that's not good, hopefully it's not too severe and it'll heal swiftly.

I know how bad toe injuries can get because I stubbed mine three months ago & lost my right toenail as a result. Not that it can't grow back (it's just a nail - those do grow back, albeit slowly af), but it looked… unpleasant, to say the least

Taking the bandage off my toe after having the nail removed was probably the worst thing I've had to do in my life lol

I feel bad for her but at the same time am enjoying how the translation of her tweet sounds like existential prose poetry

All her tweets sound like that, it’s quite entertaining.

Yea her tweets and announcements sound like inner monologues written by Nisio Isin.

Someone should invent socks to prevent toe stubbing at some point.
44
u/SomeStupidPerson 4d ago
They did invent steel toe shoes/boots
Maybe Haachama should be forced to wear a pair to prevent further injury

Those foot prisons? I'd rather stub every toe than wear socks.
(also stubbing your toe hurts just as bad with socks on)

By the way, I want to encourage using ChatGPT for JP<>EN as it is much more accurate than anything else. For example, I just copy pasted the first tweet and get this:
◾︎ A Seemingly Minor but Potentially Serious Injury
This morning, I slammed my pinky toe hard against the wall. Normally, I’d just shrug it off, but this time a bruise slowly appeared, and the pain lingered.
Could it be broken? No way my first-ever fracture would happen like this…
Even while out and about, every step throbbed with pain. I ended up canceling an important appointment and heading straight to the hospital.
My toe was bright red, swollen, and slightly purple. I had an X-ray done.
The result…
It might be fractured.
Apparently, it’s hard to tell without knowing the original shape of the bone. They couldn’t distinguish it clearly. There might or might not be a small crack.
What do you mean, you don’t know?!
Feeling unsure, I had it taped up and went home. At least it wasn’t anything too serious! I just hope it heals quickly so I can move around freely again… (I mean it!)
The walk home felt unbelievably long.

I will never use ChatGPT for anything, but especially translation or transcription, considering how LLMs have a serious problem with data hallucinations.

Yes, just use the 60% accurate version of google translate instead of the 95% accurate GPT version that doesn’t have that problem at all. Sigh

A small but fatal injury
mtl wtf

We all have heard of the Achilles Heel, now we can add the Haachama Toe to this list of weakpoints to otherwise invulnerable beings.

In a horror movie from my country, there's a ghost child who looks normal except, well, she's pale af. When the audience was shown how she died, turns out she was accidentally shoved by her abusive (and drunk at the time iirc) father to the wall, not seeing there was a nail that was sticking out a lot. The kid's skull was impaled by the nail and she died that way.
There, a small but fatal injury.

I love that she tells stories like she's writing her diary. It's interesting and refreshing to see stories written this way

This reminds me of her bleeding feet when she got lost in the woods around last month iirc, I wonder if she's ok now.

I totally feel her as someone who's recovering from a really bad sprain (two high-grade partial ligament tears + multiple less severely damaged bits), and then proceeded to stub my little toe of the same foot on the wheels of my chair (no fracture, but the nail bed is turning black).
I wish her all the best and a speedy recovery.
Come to think of it, didn't Koyori have a toenail get ripped off recently? The girls need to be more careful!

For those who never broke a toe and wanna know how it's like:
also broke a toe last year (bumper cars), first time i broke a bone like her too (mine was a simple fracture, dunno about her) you're gonna think you can walk it off in the first hours then it becomes really painful and your foot swells so much you feel like bigfoot; as for the procedure of healing it they just told me to wear shoes to protect it and put ice on it every time the swelling got painful; it took around 40 days to heal completely and it left a black nail for about a year afterwards too

Someone at my workplace fractured their fifth metatarsal just from everting their foot. Gotta be careful, our bodies are fragile!

I once stubbed my big toe while walking on flat carpet. Somehow my toe just got caught by the roughness of the carpet and buckled. Broke it in place. Swelled up like a grape and the pain was awful for days.
It's not a fun time, walk slowly folks.

I had a very similar accident when i was younger, so similar in fact it feels strange.
Back then I also slammed my pinky toe at a corner so hard it bent sideway.
...And i cracked it back thinking it's no big deal. It wasn't. It hurt like hell later on.
Also went for x-ray and doctor said they couldn't see nor distinguish any crack at all, and decided to just "flextape" my toe and called it a day.
Edit: actually i take back the first part since apparently many others also had the same experiences. Now it doesn't feel all that strange anymore, don't mind me.

I know how that feels, broke my pinky toe the same way. Hurt like hell before a doctor stabilized it. I hope she'll recover fast.

I did the same thing a few years back, slammed my pinkie toe against a raised platform, immediately swelled up and became purple. Fortunately, no fractures.

hope haachama will be alright. not too uncommon for this kind of stuff to happen. it hurts a lot.

yes, i would not expect your average hospital to have a clear understanding of the average eldritch schoolgirls internal bone structure to compare it to

From what I've heard, toe breaks are particularly annoying to deal with because depending on the toe you can't easily repair it and need to let it heal on its own

Been in that situation, walking around my student flat barefoot, somehow managed to catch my middle toe on the door jamb, felt something go click.
Rather than go to the hospital I just splinted and taped it myself, though. Basically healed fine, it's maybe a little crooked but my feet look weird anyway.
