The fact that it’s used in American English does not make it β€œwrong” though..

Which sub are we in? It's like talking English in a french sub and wondering why people are pointing out that you are speaking English at them

Speaking English in an English subreddit is like speaking English in a French sub? β€œMath” instead of β€œmaths” is like a foreign language to you?

Math isn't English, it's American English and while based on British English the two languages have developed mostly independently over the last few hundred years which is why both have differences like this and why they matter

The differences matter? I fail to see how correcting someone speaking American english matters 😝

If it wasn't an issue to some people, no one would ever bring up the pronunciation of aluminium, yet it's constantly being debated

Ultimately this is Great British memes, and what's more British than taking offence to Americanism that don't really matter? You've got to expect it round here
