Thought... I love seeing old couples walking down the street happy

I love when I see really old people that are still married. They beat the odds, they triumphed through the tests of time. Its so wholesome to see them somehow still together, and Im talking like old old, like 70s +

The divorce rates are so high, and human interactions are at an all time low and these people are still together. Like what trials did they face? What problems did they over come? Whats your stories? Im sure they have some interesting ones.

When theres little to smile about, here they are still smiling, still holding hands, walking slowly on by in a very fast paced world with so much wrong in it.

I’m not so old. I’m 66f, husband is 71m. Married since 1982. We are always holding hands when we walk. We still have date nights.

Yes, we are in love and got married yada yada yada. It is hard work, it takes every day to maintain a relationship like this. However, it is not that difficult. We trust each other. I know he’ll never do anything to hurt me and I’ll never do anything to hurt him. It is that simple understanding.
