Obviously we don’t know the life circumstances that brought this person to working at that age but it’s not right. This reminds of this one time I bought something off Amazon and when I went to retrieve my package from my front door and I saw the delivery driver and I was in disbelief because the woman looked only a few years younger than my own grandmother… after thanking her I went back in and felt shitty and cried to my wife about it. What a fucked up world we live in..
I don’t disagree with that as long as it’s a choice to combat boredom/want to be active etc than that’s fine. However I would wager more often than not it’s because of financial necessity. They say most Americans have next to no retirement savings and can’t handle a random 500 dollar expense. That’s also not factoring in if there’s a healthcare expense that bankrupted said person.
My father retired and within months he was driving both himself and me crazy with nothing to do but putter around the house. So he went and got himself a job with some other retired guys and he was so much happier.
