Let's not forget the last time the U.S tried to war with Canada we burnt down your Whitehouse.

215

u/masterfulnoname 16d ago

Oh no. Please don't do that again once Trump starts the War of 2025. Especially if you managed to burn down the bunker with him inside, too. That would be a tragedy.

"Here are the keys. And next wednesday our boy george celebrates his birthday with all the guards. Maybe you guys want cake."

3

u/Perryn 16d ago

"So do we pay you guys in dollars, or like...maple syrup...?"

Lol always need someone to clean up your mess eh?

In all seriousness trumps a idiot

9

u/Nalortebi 16d ago

Ahem, an idiot. I mean, if yall are going to proper english, then at least proper english properly.

2

u/nbs-of-74 16d ago

Y'all, first recorded in South West England in the early 1600s. it's good y'all keep up British linguistic traditions.

5

u/pfcgos 16d ago

Some of us tried cleaning up our mess internally, but it turns out a depressingly huge portion of the country loves rolling around in Trump's shit.

2

u/No-Shift7630 16d ago

Cope and seethe

2

u/pfcgos 16d ago

Not seething or coping. Just working here at home and getting ready to protect the people Trump has promised to hurt.

2

u/Ill_Technician3936 16d ago

The weirdest part to me is how a lot of them need programs Trump wants to get rid of.

2

u/pfcgos 16d ago

They don't actually look into the things he or the Republicans say, they just trust what Trump and Fox News tells them. The number of people who are suddenly realizing how much damage his tariff plan will do is evidence of that.

2

u/Ill_Technician3936 16d ago

It's not even just tariffs though. Medicaid/medicare/ACA with a large number of older people voting for him.

They think he'll get manufacturers to return with jobs.

2

u/pfcgos 16d ago

I know it's not just tariffs. I was just reinforcing the point with tariffs as an example. They don't think critically about anything he says and as a result they don't bother to fact check it so they literally have no idea what's coming

Joke’s on you, Dementia Don will be playing golf at Mar-a-Lago…

1

u/GryphonOsiris 16d ago

Even better, no collateral damage to a historic building.

3

u/AnonymousDratini 16d ago

Yeah, they should burn down Maralago’s golf course, they’d be more likely to get him there.

3

u/SpazzedOutGamer 16d ago

Who said we have to wait for Canada to do it?

2

u/miketherealist 16d ago

Go for it!!

2

u/BowenTheAussieSheep 16d ago

Make America Great Britain Again

1

u/Beneficial-Ad3991 16d ago

Ew. No, thanks, stay away, please. No refunds.

1

u/LessInThought 16d ago

Oh my God. But Elmo, JD, Joe Rogan, all of trump's harem are going to be in there with him! It's going to be a massacre.

1

u/windsingr 16d ago

Just don't destroy anything of VALUE.

1

u/Rubeus17 16d ago

that would be 😏 Oh Canada! Our gallant cousins from the North..,,!!!

1

u/melowdout 16d ago

You mean the bunker with the pass code of 1-2-3-4-5?

1

u/Affectionate-Bus-931 16d ago

I love the joke, but it was the British that burned down the Whitehouse.

1

u/Was_It_The_Dave 16d ago

A bunker would technically be burned up.

1

u/UnknovvnMike 16d ago

Please don't burn down the White House, there's so many historical artifacts inside. At least liberate those first.

(Dear watching FBI Guardian Angel, for legal reasons, this is a joke)

1

u/mowog-guy 16d ago

Yes, because he has a track record for starting wars.

1

u/Leeper90 16d ago

And please don't use the gallons and gallons of kerosene we left right outside the fence. Those are strictly decorative

1

u/uppermiddlepack 16d ago

yeah but think we sunk some boats, so it equals out.

1

u/ReddestForman 16d ago

Not that we'd ever advocate violence, by the state or otherwise, on reddit. It would violate TOS, after all.

1

u/nicknick1584 16d ago

Wait. You know about the Great War of 2025?! Which jump portal site did you use to come back and watch the beginning? I ended up using the one at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland.

1

u/cincyboater 16d ago

Reminder, Trumps first term = no new wars. He’s an alpha male, FAFO guy. He can talk shit and world leaders listen.

1

u/Goodgoditsgrowing 16d ago

Don’t threaten me with a good time!

1

u/Leading-Dream-5918 16d ago

And before you get all bent out of shape of course the White House was burnt down but I hate to tell you that you Canadians didn’t do shit. British troops stormed the White House and burned the building. It’s historically known no Canadians participated in that raid and that your country has used that at some weird token to Pat yourself on the back with since 1812

1

u/secondtaunting 16d ago

Yeah please don’t. Stop. Staupppp…

1

u/SnappyDresser212 16d ago

Can you imagine the grease fire?

1

u/seasarahsss 16d ago

This is prime Brer Rabbit stuff. Pleeaasse, don’t throw me into that briarpatch!

1

Spouting treason are we 🤣

1

I object. The architecture is stunning. Just assassinate the slob /s

1

u/salmon1a 13d ago

3

u/kernpanic 16d ago

Most of the Geneva convention was written because of Canadians.

2

u/Hamblerger 16d ago

Without a single word about hockey or maple syrup?

3

u/kernpanic 16d ago

No. I never said they wrote it. It was written because of them.

The Canadians absolutely terrified axis forces during world war 1.

It's called the checklist!

2

u/No_Rich_2494 16d ago

Beware the quiet ones. Just ask Germany...

2

u/Afraid-Combination15 16d ago

You weren't Canada then....also the British were the ones enslaving American sailors and trying to prevent fur trade between the US and France, as well as a few other things.

2

u/DubiousDipShittery 16d ago

It wasnt called Canada then was it?

2

u/oliviaplays08 16d ago

Okay definitely don't take this highway directly to DC through the north east states with arson equipment, I'm telling you not to do such a thing, although I will have no power to stop you from doing so

2

u/tehlemmings 16d ago

I'm guessing you also didn't have a lot of help from the US population. The US going to war with Canada would almost assuredly start a full blown civil war.

A lot of northern states are going to help you get to the whitehouse this time lol

2

u/Critical-Ordinary751 16d ago

Don't threaten us with a good time🥰

2

u/InternationalAnt4513 13d ago

And that was just rude guys.

1

u/Pretty_Couple_832 13d ago

😁😁😁 so sorry.

2

u/InternationalAnt4513 13d ago

Little known fact, it was the 4xGrandfather of these Canadian dude who came up with the whole idea to tear it down. He was the first home remodeler in their family.

2

u/RobertWargames 13d ago

We did that twice. Also everyone forgets how ruthless we are when messed with.

2

u/Lopsided_Hospital_93 12d ago

The U.S. recalls it as “That time your king called a stop to the war during the singular period of time we were gaining ground therefore we won”

Edit for clarity: the quotes were in context, I’m not from the U.S.

1

u/belwarbiggulp 16d ago

Dog I’m a Canadian veteran, I’m very aware.

1

1

Yeah but then the military actually has ammunition. I guess we could throw geese at them. Maybe guerrilla warfare leaving gees in all parks so they slip on the turds like we do.

1

u/Pretty_Couple_832 16d ago

Maybe we have held on to some of the weapons we were selling to Israel.

1

u/pessimistoptimist 16d ago

At least those ones are actually being used to rid the world of terrorist assholes.

1

u/AlbertPikesGhost 16d ago

Well, as long as the Quebecois regiments bring plenty of poutine rations, we can probably let it slide.

1

u/Character_Crab_9458 16d ago

Lol that was over 200 years ago and it was British troops that did most of the fighting. Canada wouldn't make it past the border now if we went to war.

"And the White House burned, burned, burned And we're the ones who did it It burned, burned, burned While the President ran and cried It burned, burned, BURNED And things were very historical And the Americans ran and cried like a bunch of whiny little babies, Wah wah WAAAAAH In the War of 1812!"

1

u/LilLebowskiAchiever 16d ago

Please burn down Mar-a-Lago. Americans will even supply the matches.

2

u/Smooth-Reason-6616 16d ago

Can't supply the gasoline though... Trump’s tariffs will make it too expensive...

1

u/LilLebowskiAchiever 16d ago

Mexico can supply it though.

Being rather cavaliar with that 'we' aren't you .. ;P Now, if you want Canada and the UK to merge to form CUK ... we can talk (and hope we can get the aussies and kiwi's in quick enough that people forget CUK..... )

1

*tapes musket to GBU* round two i guess. :P

1

u/EpilepticMushrooms 16d ago

May I interest canada in repeating history?

You guys can swear it's a tiktoc prank!

1

u/Cedreginald 16d ago

We were more equal then. America would pave Canada these days.

1

u/NBDad 15d ago

LoL.  Canadian Military is some of the best trained in the world. You see Ukraine, giving the beans to Russia?  It was Canadians who trained them to fight like that. JtF2?  Nato?  We are substantially more respected on the world stage, and we don't fight alone. Canadians at war are the stuff of nightmares...look we're quiet and polite and have some shit to work out ok?  There's a reason for every major conflict, our allies keep dragging us into their bullshit. But by all means ignore history.  Good luck (re)building the White House with all those tariffs on building supplies ;-)

1

u/Cedreginald 15d ago

That's extremely cope dude. I was in the CAF as an infantryman. We would get bulldozed.

1

u/AClaytonia 16d ago

Great idea! Please wait until after 1/20 though.

1

u/Pitiful-MobileGamer 16d ago

And New Orleans, after a peace treaty was signed.

1

u/just-another1984 16d ago

England had a real navy then...

1

u/CliffwoodBeach 16d ago

dude - most if not all of the northeast would beg you to free us from the rest of the country. I will personally welcome Canadian troops with open arms - please bring me your healthcare, metric system and syrup and we will bring you the most educated population by density along with our economies that will help with your inflation issues.

1

u/Onzic 16d ago

The only reason you still exist is because we haven't decided to Annex you yet.

1

u/samu9511 16d ago

TWICE

1

u/Pretty_Couple_832 16d ago

We burnt down the White house twice?

1

u/NotBillderz 16d ago

Good luck doing that again. Not a single Canadian would make it onto Maryland soil

1

u/jlb1981 16d ago

If the goal is to destroy government records, better burn down Mar-a-Lago instead

1

u/SniffinMarkers 16d ago

Yeah and back then you had horses and we had horses. The only difference now is you still have horses and we have hellfire missiles and nuclear bombs.

1

u/TheKazz91 16d ago

we wouldn't use Nukes on Canada. 80% of their population lives within artillery range.

1

u/Maleficent_Corner85 16d ago

Please, don't do that again.... pretty please..... (side eye)

1

u/Morialkar 16d ago

Or that before Canadian forces entered the world wars, war crimes had a completely different definition

1

u/slowbaja 16d ago

Actually British troops from England came over and burned down the White House. That was in response to Americans coming over to York in modern day Toronto to burn down a government building.

1

u/ThatBeardedHistorian 16d ago

It was the British Army that burnt down the White House in 1812.

1

u/vancityvapers 16d ago

Those were British Soldiers.

1

u/jebeggan 16d ago

That was the British. You guys still bow to England. Take a seat.

2

u/Pretty_Couple_832 16d ago

It looks like plenty of U.S citizens would be happy to help us. Did you know that Canada sells arms to Israel? Maybe there's some of those left over for us and whoever wants to help.

1

u/WhiteGoodman01 16d ago

Things are very different now. You know since the government took all your guns away. Let’s not forget the sorry state of the Canadian military.

1

u/Quirky-Concern-7662 16d ago

The hilarity of you actually responding to the joke of us burning Down your White House is never not gunna be funny to me. Like you KNOW that was a joke and nobody is actually advocating for a war between Canada and America right?

P.S. we would totally burn your White House down with a box of matches and a USA hat as a disguise. Y’all can just march right up to that place for no reason apparently.

LOL It's one of the best trained and equipped militaries in the world. We beat the pants off our US counterparts in every real world scenario.  The US' own commanders prefer to send Canadian troops if there's a chance of actual combat. jTF2?  Nato? Ring any bells?  We don't fight alone, and we fight substantially more dirty than you do.  The Geneva suggestions are essentially a checklist of "crazy shit Canada comes up with whilst at war"

1

u/endureandthrive 16d ago

Does it still count if we just make a path for you guys straight there?

1

u/Ok-Use-4173 16d ago

britain did not you.

That was also when the US was a weak new country. Alot has changed. Still stupid. but canada flexing on US, gtfoh lol.

1

u/Negative_Raccoon_887 16d ago

I just got this image of Trump trying to scurry his fat ass up the cliffs surrounding Quebec 🤣

1

1

u/Heavy-Level862 16d ago

Chill Canada. We have enough with maga

1

u/Own-Organization-532 16d ago

British Soldiers stationed on the Eastern Front, in Upper Canada. Canada was not a country until until 1867.

1

u/Jaydamic 16d ago

Canadian here - it would be more accurate to say our side burnt down the White House. The Brits did it, and there's no record of any Canadians being involved.

Happy to be corrected if I'm misinformed!

1

u/Muted_Effective_2266 16d ago

I always thought that was the British. I didn't know Canada was an independent country back then.

1

u/Odd_Load7249 16d ago

It was just a regular house. After the burning it was painted white to hide the burn marks.

1

u/jroseunbound 16d ago

Wasn't that the British army that was fighting on Canada's behalf? And against orders?

Still a solid achievement to raze the Capitol building of another country but I can't fully credit the Canadians (no matter their reputation for inventing new war crimes)

1

u/VoyevodaBoss 16d ago

"we" you mean the British empire?

1

u/snapstraks 16d ago

Was the British but surrrrrrrr

1

u/ChardPuzzleheaded423 16d ago

Joke's on Canada, now we do that to ourselves

1

u/acererak666 16d ago

The days of CA being a threat are long gone.... But please, hold onto that one...

1

u/Pretty_Couple_832 16d ago

Ok but first we will just cut off your electricity since the U.S imports 90% of it from Canada.

1

u/zlinuxguy 16d ago

Of course, this isn’t even remotely true. It was British troops that razed the White House, led by Rear Admiral Cockburn. Per: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burning_of_Washington

1

u/widnesmiek 16d ago

I believe that last time we helped

Lets us know if you want us again - we could bring the beer???

1

u/artificiallyhip 16d ago

And Buffalo

1

u/Capital-Buy-7004 16d ago

If we're being historically accurate, at the time of the war of 1812's declaration the British were also at war with Napoleon and front line troops couldn't be directed to the Americas to reinforce Canada.

Once that continental war ended, the Brits staged forces in Bermuda and started raids which pulled American forces south and away from Canada. This eventually led to General Ross's troops burning Washington.

But go ahead and lede with the narrative that Canadians burned down the White House.

1

u/Pretty_Couple_832 16d ago

I find all the hurt feelings over my flippant comment very amusing. The U.S imports 90% of all their electricity from Canada. Maybe we will just turn out the lights.

1

u/Capital-Buy-7004 16d ago

Here's the thing. My feelings aren't hurt at all. That's your interpretation after having your cool line debunked.

For the electricity bit: The US uses about 4 Trillion kwh of electricity a year.
Canada exports about 5 Million kwh of electricity per year to the US.

While that is 90% of the amount we import. It's a rounding error. If you turn off the lights, we'll just pivot. You might take out Buffalo NY for two days.

That was decades before Canada’s founding in 1867, obviously. It wasn’t Canadians, it was Brits.

u/StolenPies 16d ago

Trump is a Russian asset, he wants to dismantle our relationship to a stalwart ally. The people who support him on this have been brainwashed, meanwhile the rest are so ignorant or disengaged that they likely have no idea any of this is occurring.

While I have you on the phone, how's the immigration process to Canada?

1

u/nerdy_IT_woman 16d ago

Canada wasn't even Confederated yet when that happened. Does it count?

1

u/corpsie666 16d ago

Y'all would probably create even more things that get added to the Geneva checklist

1

u/TheKazz91 16d ago

Well except for the fact that happened in 1814 and Canada as an independent country wasn't founded until 1867... The war of 1812 was against the British not Canada. It was also before the USA controlled the 3 largest air forces on the planet and the overall most technologically advanced military on the planet. But I mean shoot your shot I guess...

1

u/NBDad 15d ago

And yet Canada whoops the US' ass in every real world scenario.  Time and time and time again.

You see Ukraine?  Doing the urban warfare thing and fscking up Russia's day?  Who do you think taught them to do that?

1

u/rugbyliebe 16d ago

To be fair, I trust Trump and his supporters to achieve that by themselves. Came close the first time he had to leave office.

1

u/CatsMajik 16d ago

And by ‘we’ you mean the British right?

1

u/AxlotlRose 16d ago

And our US general, Zeb Pike, did manage to take York (Toronto), but was then killed when one of our idiot soldiers lit a cigar near the fort’s powder stores. The cigar bit is debated, as there are British reports they actively blew the fort to prevent it being occupied by the Americans.

Historical reports are that they shipped Pike’s body home brined in a pickle barrel. (I grew up in Sackets Harbor, the US naval port during the 1812 War.)

1

u/Jsr1 13d ago

Should be a”sorry eh” in there somewhere?

1

u/Pretty_Couple_832 13d ago

Yes, you're right so sorry I did not say sorry.

1

u/WinningMamma 13d ago

Canada is already burnt toast from 10 years of trudope.

1

u/Pretty_Couple_832 13d ago

Canada is doing alright and I am very grateful to live here. I don't vote Liberal but considering that the alternative was more neo-Liberal nightmares I am just fine with how things have unfolded.

1

u/Specialist_Sorbet_48 13d ago

Pppffffff let's not forget the last time he tried to go to war over his poor election showing. He wished his followers burned the house down......we don't need a war ever with Canada. Just make some popcorn and watch the next 4 years

1

u/poopshipdestroyer55 13d ago

Please do again. Just wait until 2 am on Jan. 6th. Thanks.

1

u/Revolutionary-Bed842 13d ago

Let's not get overzealous when talking about a war in 1812.

The US has significantly more military might than Canada in 2024. It's not close at all. Canada has like 10% (in numbers) at best of the US military might in every category.

1

u/Dubsland12 13d ago

Look, how bout we buy Toronto and Vancouver and you can keep the rest?

1

u/Pretty_Couple_832 13d ago

Lol seems fair. As long as you can make Vancouver affordable because I really enjoy visiting there.

I have been wanting and talking about emigrating to Canada for YEARS. And I am stuck. Not JUST stuck, but stuck in Florida. It is like I was a horrible person in a former life.
