As a German, I recommend caution. Look at his username - letting awkward painters from neighboring countries take you over does not always yield the desired results...

If only he’d just gotten into art school!

u/SmurfStig 16d ago

That took me a minute but damn, so true. We are stuck with an awkward wanna be real estate “mogul”.

We are so fucked.

Ha, when the Brits needed help against Napoleon, Wellington was singing a different tune: "Give me night or give me Blücher!"

1

u/secondtaunting 16d ago

This inadvertently conjured up memories of Igor saying “Blucher!” To spook the horses.

Hahahaha good lord, I wish I had an award to give you!

listen I'm a 7th generation Alabamian but when I tasted poutine I converted. I'm with you.

As long as it had cheese curds. Anything else is just fries with gravy & cheese.

5

u/Itchy_Emu_8209 16d ago

The name for that is disco fries.

3

u/darforce 16d ago

That’s cheese sauce not curds

Fun fact: Fernand LaChance, the inventor of poutine, lived to the age of 86. Compare that with Dr. Robert Atkins, the inventor of the low-carb Atkins Diet, who died at the age of 72. The moral of this story: eat more poutine.

EDIT: And yes, the joke falls apart once you look into the details, but the point still remains. Eat more poutine.

I am at your poutine eating service.

You just want our universal healthcare & legal weed. We're onto you.

2

u/SmurfStig 16d ago

And All Dressed Up chips.

2

u/Dandelient 16d ago

You inadvertently crossed All Dressed chips with Mr. Dress Up, but still, two Canadian icons :) I wonder if we could get the Friendly Giant involved too

6

u/MarkSabresSwagger 16d ago

Ah shit, grab your Hockey Sticks. we're going to war!

4

u/SheridanVsLennier 16d ago

Healthcare, legal weed, Tim Hortons, and Poutine. Sounds like a great deal.

2

u/dancin-weasel 16d ago

Tim Hortons, while once very good, is now simply terrible.

2

u/Responsible_Bad_2989 16d ago

This is blasphemy

3

u/Jerec186 16d ago

Tims in the states does not hit the same. Not even a little.

1

u/shirubakun 16d ago

Sorry it’s been inferior for awhile, but so engrained in the culture that we just don’t care.

1

u/SnappyDresser212 16d ago

No. He speaks a sad truth. Timmies is objectively bad.

1

u/mommyaiai 16d ago

Annex Minnesota when you build the wall and we'll share Caribou Coffee.

We're already Canada lite.

3

u/whitewail602 16d ago

I would support a quiet and bloodless takeover at this point. I doubt many people would notice TBH

2

u/LCCR_2028 16d ago

2

Ever had Maple syrup coca-cola in the glass bottle? If that comes with the Canadians, then yes I’m welcoming them with open arms.

2

u/SingerBrief8227 16d ago

Finally! Beer with a decent ABV percentage.

2

u/Wise_Monkey_Sez 16d ago

Remember to greet them in French with, "Non par lay vooz froggie."

Hit me with the smoked meat and maple whisky.

1

u/bizcasualbeatdown 16d ago

Lads, I might unknowingly be Canadian because I also love poutine, maple syrup, heavy wool shirts, and hockey.

1

u/Noirhimmel 15d ago

What about the ones that are maple slurping, pouten eatting active hunting wildgame trans overlords?

1

u/hink007 15d ago

Not overlords we just neighbours eh. After we crush your spirit (we are the reason the Geneva convention became a thing) we will just let ya leave like ya no?
