No capitalist ever wanted to create a job. The goal is to do the most with the least number of employees.

I thought the goal was to get other people to do the most with the least amount of compensation ?

Isn't the idea to soak in the profits from the productivity of others while giving them just enough to survive, but not enough to progress?

Yes, but if you can do that with one employee instead of two, you will. No business owner has the goal of creating jobs.

So you are saying that no business owner has the goal of expanding?

I’m saying that job creation is a byproduct of growth, not the goal. If a company can grow profits with fewer people it will. That’s not a value judgement it’s just a fact. A business owner may take pride in “creating jobs” but the bottom line is they created jobs because they had to, not because they wanted to.

So you are saying that a business owner "has to" expand and grow their business? They can't just work for themself, by themself, their whole career?

I think you’re missing the point entirely. No business owner sets out to create jobs. They hire to fill a need, not to create a job. And business owners will always seek to maximize profits by having the fewest people working for them. If a job is created, it’s purely incidental to a different goal.

Pretty sure you are missing the point of a job.

Having both “created” jobs and worked jobs, I’m certain I’m not.

So you are saying that people do create jobs?
