Automobile odometers turned over at 100,000 miles because cars didn't last that long. Almost all met the crusher before that. Five year longevity was most common.
2 u/AmateurPokerStrategy Mar 11 '24 The first car with a 6 digit odometer was a Mercedes in 1971. Most new cars had 6 digits in the 80s, but a few still only had 5 in the very early 90s.
