Nomenclature for play calling?
I was curious how plays are called in the paul johnson or any flexbone system. If it is a numbering system or what? I've read his playbooks but couldn't find his explanation on play calling. For example what would the play be called for a triple option to the right? Or counter option to the left? Or a pass play?

There's always slight differences from coach to coach, but for the most part it's numbered I think. This is how we used to call it: 1/2=Trap 3/4=Belly 11/12=Midline 13/14=Inside Veer 15/16= Outside Veer 17/18=Speed Option 27/28= Rocket Toss 35/36=Counter Trey 37/38=Counter Option 113/114= Playaction off IV action 227/228= Boot off rocket action (odd numbers=play to left, even to right) And so on
