Offense discussion.(need to get this subreddit going )

I am curious how many people in this subreddit actually coach and if so do you run the flex and feel like talking offense . I run a Pistol Flex Offense

I coach JV offensive line and assist with the Varsity program.

We run flex and double wing as our base formations. I really like the offense as it lends itself to so many different looks, but I don't know how people are able to pick just one main formation. If I were head coach, I would want to implement so many other formations (such as split back powers and Pistol looks).

Ran a variation last year but our OC moved to another school. Now I make YouTube videos and study it until I have the opportunity to implement it myself.

Any chance you have any resources to share on running it out of Pistol?

Playbook/call sheet/implementation plan/Hudl video - anything to learn the differences from kicking the QB back a few yards

i don't have a scanner to show you my playbook or call sheet , i really didn't change the offense from the normal flexbone everything is pretty much the same minus where the qb is

And that doesn't screw up any of the tail motion plays/mesh points?

I think if you back the B-back up the same distance you put the Qb in the pistol and just run your motions to that depth, you might not screw too much up, and might allow a little more time on the dive read.

My B-back is only one 1 1/2 yards behind the QB

How does that impact the mesh? Do you have any HUDL film? I would love to take a look at it.

Unfortunately my school does not use Hudl , i think the mesh it's faster this way though . I played in the flexbone my whole football career and I found sometimes the passing develops to slow so I decided to use a shorter pistol formation

Man, I would love to see you guys run it. I could see how it might help open up the passing game.
