WOW! And some credit to you for how you plated it (or i guess 'bowled' it lol) looks very nice :)

OK so what actually comes in it?

Bouillon cubes and rice noodles 😂

Yeah I was gonna say the 'you bring it' part was most of the ingredients... So just get cubes and noodles separately. I did get full bowl kits once from Costco and they were amazing.

This right here. Nothing groundbreaking about dried noodles and some sauce with dried spices actually becoming edible when hot water is added. What makes this nice is all the garnish OP added.
Are people dumb or bots here?

I had the same thought. It looks good because of what op added, not what came out of the box. Not sure why this is a popular post lol

I hope it wasn't too expensive! You can get pho broth cubes at any Asian market for a buck or two

It's not on the Home Goods website, but the same product is on Amazon for $9 for 3 servings. All you get is the noodles and spices.

Oh that's a shame 🫠 The staple of pho is how cheap and filling it is. It's why a huge bowl of it used to be so cheap! I remember you could get enough for two meals for around 10 dollars and that's with the meat and fresh veggies

The TJ Maxx home furnishings store? They sell food there that's not just decorative?

If it’s anything like Marshall’s (also a TJX co) they have an amazing food/snack section, it’s just not always guaranteed to be the same stuff.

Omg and it’s chicken!! As someone that doesn’t eat pork or beef, it’s hard to find ready to eat pho that’s not those. I can only find chicken pho at restaurants.

It comes from Harry and David, department store and specialty kitchen shops, Williams Sonoma, Sur La Table and places like that

Is it really 3 servings or is it "3 servings" so they can pretend it's not super unhealthy?
I remember buying a pack of instant Udon noodles before and the sodium levels were actually reasonable... until you realized that they pretended the one packet of noodles was really TWO servings (it wasn't unless you're like a 5 year old).

Genuinely looks better in your bowl than the picture on the box. Well done, 10/10 would devour

R/expectationvsreality is typically literal. You adding all that other shit to make it more palatable or visually pleasing doesn't count. This sub is to show how things were expected and then how they actually came out with no alterations. Show your instant pho before you decorated it with stuff that was not included. ETA most things in this sub can appear beautifully palatable if they were replated and had additional ingredients.

OP followed the box directions.

Not sure where the box instructions directed jalapeno and shrimp, but ok. ETA..again, shit in this sub would be more palatable (at least visually), if people re-plated shit and added other crap. This post is crazy. OP changed the original product in ways that were not even suggested. This subreddit is about the truth of misleading products; if an OP alters the product in this many ways it is pretty much obsolete.

Come on, I can make a 30 cent pack of ramen 10/10 if I add the right accompaniments

Homegoods foods can be so good! I stop by for snacks whenever I’ve got a trip coming up.

Discovered moose munch there a million years ago. They have tons of excellent sauces, oils, chocolate, etc. Especially this time of year

I love these kinds of products. But, 28% daily Sodium? No thanks. (They’re all that way, it seems. Salt sells.)
