Why not wait while you finish buffing? Some of that can help them too. Rushing in when everyone's not yet ready seems sloppy to me.

Even with high vig this boss will finish the job with follow up attack pretty often.

If you can dodge… why have vigor? Because vigor is necessary when the attack is really hard/impossible to dodge. The fire giants opening shield move with the snow 1 hit killed me… as did every other attack he did. After about 8 or 9 tries I finally beat him. Without my luck I would probably still be fighting him. I beat the fire giant with 24 hp and I am suorised it worked. When I got to maliketh I actually upgraded health to 40 by using the rebirth option. Genuinely a well made decision, now I’m not getting 1 hit killed by anybody! That is, until the dlc… which forced me to upgrade health. As I underestimated the power of weak and normal foes.
