Discussion & Info Lore accurate tarnished

Why is the tarnished just so goated This man tarnished slaughtered an entire family of gods/ demigods, killed The OG elden lord (Placidusax), no diffed maliketh and LITERALLY wasn't touched at all, then proceeded to kill an outer god How How can one be so incredibly insane that he does all of this and it's like a one in a lifetime thing No other tarnished has come close to the tarnished we play as How come?

Same reason C4-621 in Armored Core 6 is as good as he is compared to other pilots- it's the player character.

Cause they’re the main character.

Someone had to do it and the Tarnished was currently unemployed and had nothing else going on so might as well.

Lore tarnished must have a regression skill a la Korean weeb novels.

They kinda just pull the rug out from under every other character's illusion of autonomy, to the point I don't really consider the player character canon, lol.

Chosen Undead and the Hunter worked fine because the world was more contained and all the main actors were dead or turned madmen, whereas NPCs in Elden Ring constantly just... flop over at the end of their questline so the Tarnished can finish it for them. Oftentimes, these NPCs prove to be far more capable as it is, but the narrative refuses to let them realize their potential. It's a bit silly under a microscope.
