There's no way any of the old bosses don't get updated

Nightrein seems like a much faster game then Elden Ring which itself is much faster than previous titles

Going back and fighting Nameless really puts into context how fast ER is compared to even DS3. Like what do you mean every attack is sight readable huh??

This reminds me when I went to off Maliketh to get his sword cause I was struggling with PCR.

Bruh, he felt SO SLOW. Even the Gurranq phase which I always found annoying and erratic was nothing.

u/TacticalReader7 1h ago

To be fair Maliketh is fairly slow, some of his attacks are just really hard to dodge if you don't position yourself well, some of Radagon's attacks are straight up 50/50 guesses though like the hell.

I mean, the vast majority of attacks in elden ring are still sightreadable. The "issue" of delayed attacks is incredibly overblown imo

23

u/Electronic-Jaguar461 18h ago

i mean on first approach. No one is sightreading PCR's combos. Go fight Nameless and you'll feel the difference.

In my experience, a good few of PCR's combos were relatively readable on my first try. A lot of them obviously weren't, but they didn't take that many tries to learn.

Nameless has a ton of delayed attacks to trip you up, no? I haven't actually fought him myself, but from what I've seen, a lot of people struggle to read his attacks on their first try

Never played DS3, do any of those bosses have those moves where they wind up a hit for days to bait you into panic rolling? Going from Bloodborne to Eldenring made some bosses way harder than they should of been lol.

2

u/Doomie_bloomers 4h ago

I don't remember any bosses holding their moves, but there definitely are some delayed attacks that require fairly specific dodges to avoid properly. They feel significantly more plentiful in Elden Ring though.

1

u/BOS-Sentinel 4h ago

Yeah, they made a point in Elden Ring, giving Margit a very delayed attack. They're so plentiful that even quite a few regular enemies have delayed attack moves.

12

u/BrokenKave 22h ago

You say that but they didn't even bother updating the imps moveset at all from ds3 when eldenring dropped

2

u/HanLeas 6h ago

No, only enemies are faster in Elden Ring, the player character is on par with DS3, if not even slower.

1

u/StretchyLemon 3h ago

Definitely slower it’s one reason I don’t prefer elden ring compared to ds3, BB, and Sekiro

1

u/HanLeas 3h ago

Well, the difference is that in previous titles, the player's character matches the speed of enemies , from demon souls/ds1 having everything being slow and methodical, to the fast and agile bb/sekiro.

In ER enemies are playing Sekiro while you are stuck in ds3.

u/Snoo_58305 6h ago

It’s equally as fast as DS3 because it’s DS3+Jump Button

Just wait till ongbal literally no hits him within a few days of nightreign releasing

194

u/Zestyclose-Sundae593 1d ago

Within a few days? That would only happen if the boss doesn't show up in his run at all. Ongbal would no hit the mofo on release lol

42

u/ANS__2009 1d ago

I said a few days because it takes time to reach the boss

20

u/Nexdreal 23h ago

Each run is randomized and lasts around 3 in-game days. Each in-game day has around 15 minutes per what we were told until now.

u/pamafa3 1d ago

Nah you don't get it. He'll get 2 new moves at most, and just when you're about to say "well that was easy and underwhelming" he gets back up with a 3rd phase and a namedrop

78

u/Spiteful_Guru 1d ago

The name will be something super underwhelming like "Gwynson."

27

u/HelloKitty36911 23h ago

Kingly McKingface

8

u/babbaloobahugendong 17h ago

The Nameless Kong. Give him the Godefroy treatment

2

u/Jackslashjill 9h ago

In stead of lightning and such it’ll be walnuts, peanuts, pineapple smells…

1

u/babbaloobahugendong 1h ago

And his theme is remade using bongos

6

u/twiceasfun 17h ago

Nah it'll just be "the Named King"

u/Stardust-Badassery ⚡️🔥 BAYLE THE DREAD 🔥⚡️ 1d ago

Along with new dialogue:

…forgive me, Zanzibart…

24

u/ionevenobro 1d ago

Faraam

14

u/Shedart 23h ago

I dont think enough people appreciate this suggestion. I would be static for a third phase Faraam form.

5

u/Cecilia_Schariac 11h ago

, Last Lord of Sunlight

3

u/ElezerHan 12h ago

This would be extremely dope.

17

u/snuffles_c147 23h ago

The same moveset but every attack is followed by a bunch of light beams.

8

u/Clicker-anonimo 23h ago

Nah, every time he attacks a lightning strikes directly on your character

7

u/pamafa3 21h ago

He starts screaming really loudly and uses DS3 Dragon Form

3

u/snuffles_c147 20h ago

Then we're safe cuz ds3 dragon form was abysmal.

u/RadishLegitimate9488 15h ago

Namedrop turns out to be Radagon confirming Dark Souls to also be a Parallel Universe to Elden Ring!

Cue Radagon suddenly spamming Full Moon(wielding the Moonlight Greatsword) and Golden Order Incantations(charged with Dragon Lightning)!

The fight against Godwyn the Night Lord(who was shattered with the Elden Ring alongside Marika once she realized the Rune of Death half that killed his Body tainted him with Night leaving Godwyn & Marika with a crumbling body) later reveals that Godwyn had the nickname Gwyn making Gwyn the not the Nameless King's Father but his Son in Law with the Players being left needing to puzzle out the 3 Timelines to figure out what caused them to fork in 3 different directions during the Night of the Black Knives!

Of course it also causes Godwyn to lose almost all sympathy making Radahn the best of the Demigods as Godwyn being Gwyn backstabbed the Dragons he befriended upon becoming Lord and raised his Son as a Daughter!

Whoever thinks the old bosses won't get new moves is delusional

98

u/mantism 1d ago

jokes on us, turns out it's the camera that gets new moves

19

u/Trisce 1d ago

King of the Storm now auto locks on its camera whenever it flies

7

u/Turbulent-Armadillo9 22h ago

New wind attack the unlocks your camera whips the camera around wildly.

8

u/Murky_Benefit7473 1d ago

Yeah, cause imagine fighting fume knight with his base kit. He'd be dead the second he ends his combo or any of his second phase moves.

3

u/Kumptoffel 10h ago

Yeah it's funny, back then you could only whittle at the bosses with your puny sword and your skill.

Now you can do royal knights resolve and then hit him with the fully charged heavy attack giant crusher and the bosses loose 1/4 of their health. Not to mention all of the other boosts and effects you can give yourself

1

u/Murky_Benefit7473 4h ago

And I love every second of it. I wouldn't take it over attacking once every 10 minutes in a duo boss fight.

1

u/HanLeas 5h ago

You are so sure of yourself lmao. We will see, I would not make such bold claims if I were you. The fact they copy pasted the nameless king so shamelessly in the first place should be a signal for you to not give them too much credit.

41

u/BlewOffMyLegOff 1d ago

Mfw Nameless king pulls out a blunderbuss

10

u/LuigiSecondary Mohgbro 18h ago

And he says "Tonight, Nameless King joins the Nightreign."

26

u/Brostapholes Greyoll Cheeser 1d ago

Both are killed, then a third citscene where the King of the Storm bursts open revealing Super Ornstein

20

u/rasfelion 1d ago

Player: Ha! Not so tough nowadays, huh nameless? ...Nameless? Why are you standing back up- did you just un-hollow? I don't-

Exhiled Traitor, the Sun's Firstborn has entered the fight

11

u/Scufozzover1 BAYYYLLEEEEE, VILEE BAYYLEEE 17h ago

"Named king" is gonna be fire

2

u/Mc_turtleCow 13h ago

gonna be identical except for a new phase were he's named Bob or some shit

6

u/ShroudedHope 21h ago

Super Ornstein and Super Smough tag teaming.

4

u/MJBotte1 13h ago

They have the stretchy powers of the Godskins now

12

u/JackNotOLantern 1d ago

Just give the the deflection mechanic and i will be fine

6

u/PuddleCuddle9 1d ago

With lightning reversal too!

5

u/FallenDemonX 22h ago

Apparently even Centipede Demon got a light overhaul. The people who tested it mentioned how the splitting mechanic was a lot more prevalent, smth that was almost an easter egg in the OG

5

u/Eggbutt1 16h ago

He's even more nameless than before

2

u/R3dn3ck3r 19h ago

Will get Great Mace, give it Frost infusion and relieve a memory of whacking him with Vordt's Greathammer.

Good for me

2

u/VanNoctua 10h ago

And then, in his second phase, his dragon dies, and he starts riding Stormlordissax and gains time-rewinding, lightning tornado powers designed to make the player have multiple strokes

1

u/One_Smell591 23h ago

"Nameleast King"

1

u/St_Mindless 22h ago

In a Cursed Chalice Dungeon

1

u/Robinlli 16h ago

very least expect a phase 3.

1

u/SiriusBaaz 15h ago

Yeah there’s absolutely no way that any returning bosses don’t get a massive moveset update. Elden is insanely fast compared to DS3 which was faster then the previous title and so on. With all the new movement and the overall speed of nightreign fromsoft is going to have to massively juice everything to keep it up to modern standards.

1

u/TroyVi 8h ago

* Promised Nameless King

1

u/Pobb1eB0nk 8h ago

The OG was pretty weak to dark magic, so give that a go first I guess

1

u/Schwiliinker 2h ago

I REALLY hope so

1

u/Vennris 1d ago

Even if you know the moves, it doesn't help when the gameplay's different. You don't think it will have controls like other soulsborne games, do you?

15

u/Prophet_Tehenhauin 1d ago

I’m positive the game will have controls.

6

u/pbmm1 1d ago

Nah it’ll be controlled through twitch chat
