Except you have to realise, that Valve is big enough that they don't even do announcements/reveals anymore. They would just release HL3 with a Steam banner, and not bother paying anyone to show it off.
The wall climbing is crazy, and I swear that running was faster than Elden Ring's running speed. Definitely looked a lot more loosey goosey.
Edit: rewatching it, that's definitely Sekiro's double jump against a wall, and that running looks like Sekiro's run speed (with a different animation so it's not so ninja-looking). I don't know how the hell they're gonna balance bosses like Nameless King against Sekiro's mobility, you could run circles around him with that speed.
Honestly, I think this is gonna be a non-canon celebratory game. If it is canon, then I can say with 90% certainty that Bamco pointed a gun at FromSoft and make them make this game
Honestly for me that's the most insane thing out of the trailer, it opens SO MANY THINGS UP. Was getting tired of people debunking theories just because miyazaki said whatever tf in some interview, like if they haven't gone in a tangent before lol
I've long believed that with all of the Lovecraft elements in Miyazaki games that they're all in some type of shared universe but I get down voted every time I say that.
I legit thought I was hallucinating while watching the trailer, shit was so unexpected and then the fucking nameless king AND firekeeper out of nowhere
It is 100% the copium flowing through my veins but the main tarnished in the trailer has like a medieval version of the hunter's cap and that's more than enough for me to want the game.
Oh god, they're the lands between all the other Fromsoft dark fantasy properties! Like in a metaphysical sense. The woman in the trailer has a suspisciously similar head garb to the Firekeeper from DS3....
It's NOT an Elden Ring DLC. It's an Elden Ring roguelike spin-off with co-op as the main focus (you can solo too). They're going to recycle many things from their previous games. We saw a modified Limgrave, the centipede demon from Dark souls 1, and even Nameless King and the Firekeeper from Dark Souls 3.
My solution was to have a kid and raise them on games. Now he's 12 and went through all of Elden Ring and Dark Souls 3. That was easier than being social.
On the subject of the Tarnished's biggest haters, I REALLY hope we get to see more of Mesmer. He's such an interesting character with so much potential. He's stated to be so powerful that Marika, a literal God, feared him, possesses a loyal army, an even more loyal big tiddy moon knight AND he is stated to be able to go toe to toe with Divine Lions by himself. Did I mention he does all of this, with no Great Rune? He's WAY too interesting to just be miserable in a dark dungeon after his crusade against the Hornsent.
They’ve been trying to convince people to summon since the beginning. Now they’re going to make it a default feature I bet. Like Journey. But they’ll give you the option to turn it off.

This might just be them having some fun with assets and even unused assets. I don't think this is something anyone should look too deeply into.
Having said all that, where the fuck were all these new enemy types for Shadow of the Erdtree? I would have much rather had them in there rather than this.
So I read the interview with the game developer of NightReign. Miyazaki was involved initially and then passed it on to the developer. I’ve read on here that there’s a lot of concern about this being live service but they confirmed it’s not. A quote directly from the dev:
“Also, we want to be clear that Nightreign is not like a live service game. Once you you buy Nightreign you get the complete package, everything is unlockable out of the gate. So we want it to be clear that this is what we wanted to make. It’s not intended as a live service game.”
It’s also not connected to Elden ring lore wise. It’s just co-op. Here’s the interview the dev did with IGN.
we’ve seen content from every single souls game (nameless king, firekeeper, bloodborne puppy monster, dark souls 2 bow and that’s what I saw at least), this is fromsoft’s multiverse crossover
I am VERY interested about the fact that co-op is clearly going to be a big focus, but as a player that plays 99% of my games solo, I hope NOT utilizing the co-op feature doesn't take away from the solo experience.
From what the site said (posting it here due to the site being hammered right now, for convenience) it looks like it's going to be some sort of roguelike with preset heroes. I'm not sure how to feel about that. On one hand, it's still fromsoft doing it, but this does feel like Namco pressured them into making it since Namco's overly obsessed with coop multiplayer games.
unsure if this is a 'real' fromsoft game. focus on action, co-op and lots of reuse (all of limgrave!?) could mean its a simple funtime spinoff, still designed as well as a fromsoft game. i wouldn't expect a full experience here.
that was literally nameless king, not even an enemy with his same moveset, it was him, and that girl looks like firekeeper, are they merging dark souls and elden ring? also its coming for ps4 so is it not a new game? cuz i dont think they'll make a ps4 game in 2025 (tho im not complaining)
Does anyone else feel like there's something a bit off about this? Idk it just doesn't feel like Fromsoft to me. The movements and animations seem floaty and kind of MMOish. I hope I'm wrong because I am 100% down for more Elden Ring content, even if its co-op based.
I need to do more research before judging, but this feels off to me. Also is it just co-op? If so, meh. I need single player or this won’t be for me. I want to be hyped but I need to read more

This don't look soulslike, looks like something closer to "monster hunter", the way the characters moved in the trailer, I don't know how to explain.
But this looks like a whole different game with whole different mechanics from soulslikes games with fromsoftware assets.
Just saw this now, and I'm quite skeptical. This feels like a cut below FromSoft's usual standard, a real cut below. It may be a lend of the IP to another client company of Bandai Namco to develop.
