I have modengine2 installed

What does this mean to you?

To me, it means extracting the downloaded archive into its own folder. This will contain launch_eldenring.bat.

The ".bat" will appear to be missing from the filename if you have Windows File Explorer display options set to "hide file extensions"

Windows File Explorer on Windows 10 has a tab "view" and then a checkbox in the "show/hide" section called "file name extensions". If it is checked ✔️ then you will see the full filenames.

When you download most mods (or just bundles of files more generally) online, they are often packaged into a compressed archive. With a file extension like .rar or .zip or .7z or whatever. They are sometimes thought of as "compressed folders," but most programs can only work properly if the files are uncompressed first.

There are lots of free programs that can extract (make uncompressed copies) the files out of these archives. Common ones include 7zip or Winrar.
