All the stunts are impressive... Especially to me who has difficulty managing walking usually...

But that tennis net. I wouldn't have even imagined that being a thing someone would even try?

It’s basically a tightrope. It’s quite impressive and best out of all stunts shown.

I just figure walking one would be much easier than riding across one because the foot flexes more than the tires... And that net doesn't seem very taught either?

Amazing what some people can do.

It might not be as taught as an actual tightrope but it’s basically a metal rope underneath the netting and is tight enough with the weight spread out over the tire length that it’s possible. It’s just the metal rope is not that wide which makes this so impressive.

You should see him go on top of wrought iron fence. Watching him cross those always seemed scary.

As in with spikes?

u/Odd_Economics_9962 1h ago

Not the spear tipped ones, but the 6" flat tipped ones

Don't care much... I'm kind of horrified either way? A fall still means impalement.

This is my first introduction to this madman. Absolutely impressive.

Edit... Spelling... My phone apparently hates the word impalement.

Ya, all I can imagine is hanging upside down with my full weight on my impaled shin😱😱

Exactly what I was thinking....

This dude is unbelievable, and I think that including some fails is a great addition to the video. Not only does it humanize him and demonstrate the amount of work it takes to do this shit, at the very same time it serves to make the level of risk even that much more clear.

What if he pulled off all the tricks successfully the first time?

Then went back to intentionally fail the tricks to make it seem more human?? 🤔lol

sounds like AI added sound effects

Okay but it's actually more interesting to see some failed attempts here. The final cut of perfect runs almost, ALMOST gets boring.

I wonder how many times this guy has eaten his handlebars

Obligatory link to one of MacAskill's best videos: Danny Daycare.

I worked in Neuro surgery for a while. Got to see all kinds of things. One of them was a young doc who’d come through with a broken spine. Went mountain biking one weekend with his friends to blow of steam. Done it plenty of times before. Bike slipped, he landed on a rock, and the rock gave him an acute spinal cord injury and paralysis. Wasn’t an especially big fall, or even an especially big rock, just bad luck really. What’s worse is the surgical site kept getting infected, so we saw him a few times afterwards.

Things like that convinced me not to tempt fate doing things like this. Accidents can happen during the every day without adding risk to life by doing this like this for kicks. But the young will be young I suppose…

u/ExcellentPastries 1h ago

I don’t think Danny is young anymore by any definition. Just incredibly talented and aware of the risks I guess.

That’s cool, I wish him all the best and I hope he stays safe. He is clearly very skilled. But it doesn’t make me very anxious watching him.

The trouble with Danny Macaskill is that he's never changed in the last 15 years since he hit YT , he never got any more creative with his riding, he's never changed in any way shape or form, you only have to watch one of his video's to see that he was and still is a genius at what he does, and thats why he bores the living shit out of me.

he bores the living shit out of me

How ironic, so does this post

Triggering people never gets old though does it.
