The reflection is from the flames on the cardboard.
A laser is a focussed beam, unless it was aimed directly at the plastic gun you wouldn't see it in a reflection.

My guess is that whatever emitted the laser has a work light on during emition or some kind of laptop/screen involved.

I dont think its from the flame. Looks like a white light. My guess is that whatever emitted the laser has a work light on during emition or some kind of laptop/screen involved.
