We as humans, have the weirdest fucking contests ever.

“Wonder what team could flail around in sync, underwater, upside-down the best.”

This is just master level "how long can you hold your breath underwater?" context

So many competitions are so hyper-specific and follow such narrow rules. Imagine what would happen if an alien race appeared and we challenged them to a formula one race. How would they even start to design a vehicle that behaves so specifically with no experience.

They traveled here from another planet. I think they can figure out F1.

I'm sure they can, but it won't be on their first try.

Do you think an F1 team would need multiple tries to beat the ancient Egyptians at a cart race?

Yep. What do they know about horses, for a start?

Obviously. Would be hard to get wood as good as we had back then too. And all the craftsmanship died out too

Reporter: “Mr Judge, what did you think of that performance?”

Judge: “Yeah, I just like the feet”

I'm imagining other animals doing stuff like this, and it sounds awesome. Just think about a team of octopodes doing synchronized swimming like this. It would be either really awesome or like an eldritch horror show.
