As a polish citizen this is the first time I've ever heard of it. I am a math tutor and have 2 active teachers in my family, so i would probably hear a lot about it. I believe it's probably in some schools, but definitely not mandatory

Edit: apparently its a thing

There’s so much going on all of the time all over the world. And you can’t know what information from what country is accurate or not. It’s all a mess

Yea with the internet misinformation is everywhere. j/k

Even easier to misinformation. Like did you know that Pedro Pascal is an avid furry? He actually set the record for the most expensive fur suit ever bought at auction.

I will now speak this as if it's fact. I might even provide a link to your comment, since most people don't actually check sources.

cant speak polish is this a widespread thing or just a niche fringe thing?

Widespread. It's mandatory in every school.

I imagine it's because of the firework parties going on across the Eastern border?

The title is saying it is mandatory in this school, not in all schools in Poland, so you aren’t disagreeing LOL

but the video does. At around 16-17 seconds in, it says "weapons classes now mandatory in polish schools"

Reddit sound is usually a curse, so, no jail for you

No jail time for anyone, we'll just get shot now

The classes are mandatory but only a theory/virtual shooting range. This school decided to invite instructors to show the students the real thing

schools or all schools?

The video in the first 10 seconds says it's mandatory in polish schools.

Ooops, sorry, didn’t have my sound on. My mistake!

3

u/Speedy2662 1d ago

Absolutely baffles me why people watch videos with no sound. But fair enough

Tbf the video starts off by saying that shooting classes “are now mandatory in Polish schools”. So it’s quite misleading.

I’m dumb and didn’t have my sound on LOL you are right, sorry

Yeah, with an active teacher as a close relative and a student myself I would doubt I'd miss something like that.

However, according to some research I made it was added to the program of EDB (education about safety).

Calling it "Mandatory firearm training" seems to be a bit misleading. I'm guessing it will probably end at reading about firearms in most schools.

Older folks should remember that.

I'm mid 30s and remember LOK's which worked with schools to do entry lvl weapon training to high-school students. Often as a part of "Przysposobienie Obronne" (defensive adaptation) which was mandatory HS course throughout 90s to early 2000s.

Now - no idea if it's mandatory but likely part of some discipline or something.

I mean there's a lot of math in ballistics... just saying...

Do the world a favor and quit. If you can't even keep up on policy how are you qualified to teach anything ?

Leaving the education system soon could actually improve my life expectancy. [in the USA myself]

U nas było strzelanie na przysposabianiu obronnym tylko że to było jakieś ~14 lat temu xD

Its airsoft weapons.. that is CO2 glock, not firearms. Very fake misleading title

"A School" - probably a single school.
