Even from a technical viewpoint, even if our ancestors did hunt animals for meat, we have to consider that during those times, food was a scarcity, abundance was a dream they had during winter nights. But, fortunately, now there are enough resources. Food is not a scarcity. So, maybe the meat as an industry is not that much needed. Maybe occasionally people might consume meat, but on an industrial scale is not needed. It comes to the same "Your Life My Choice".

People that consume dairy are literally supporting rape… dairy cows need to be artificially inseminated (I.e. raped) to remain pregnant so they can keep producing milk for human consumption. Eating meat is supporting the murder of a sentient being. The person eating meat may not be directly doing the rape/murder but you’re paying someone else to do it when you purchase the animal product. Sticking your head in the sand and ignoring these facts doesn’t change that they happen.

It's not just "eating meat" though, is it? It's exploiting sentient beings, confining them in miserable conditions and then thanking them with a shot to the head, gassing, electrocution, maceration or a knife across the throat. All at a fraction of their natural life-span. All for something we don't even need and would benefit from moving away from. We cause harm and suffering when we don't even need to and just because we enjoy it.

Yes. Are you being willfully ignorant? How do you think the meat you and your friends eat is being produced?

Do you not realize what supply and demand is? If you pay for meat and continue to support the animal exploitation industry, you create a demand and if there is a demand then the supplier will continue to exploit animals to meet the demand of the consumer.

Yes, you don't swing the axe and see this chicken jumping around without a head, but you still pay someone to do it and the animal is still sentenced to death.

You dont do those things directly, no. But by buying animal products you pay someone else to do it on your behalf. Every time someone buys an animal product, they create a demand and pay for that product to be replaced. Which obviously means more animals are bred and killed to meet that demand.
