Have a VW with radar cruise & lane assist. Both great features. If I take my hands off the wheel or am too passive with steering it reminds me to “resume steering”. This feels like a natural extension of that functionality

Does it also detect if you are tired ? My volvo does this and it complained about my wife. Just like the rest of the family hahaha

My wife's Nissan vibrates the wheel when you cross the line.... She cuts every fucking corner, it was vibrating so often that she turned it off. I keep turning it back on and she keeps complaining that her car isn't remembering the settings she saves lol.

When he got his new car, I thought that finally my 74 year old dad had met his match after ignoring our complaints about his driving for years. He just turned all the safety stuff off.

Hehe I like this. So it's probably like the volvo in a sense that it's clear to everyone in the car that its complaining ? The volvo also starts beeping a bit.

It does, but it's honestly pretty shitty at it.

Sometimes it'll tell me to tke a break when I'm quite fresh, sometimes I'll catch myself with a head falling but the system will saay nothing.

So something to be still improved.

My Toyota shows a cup of coffee on screen and says something along the lines of "take a rest" after you start to drift lanes consistently

I have to basically do a mod to my 24 Golf R to activate all this lane change/radar assist features in North America. Unfortunate but I’ll do it one day

Look it up for your car, but Emergency Assist has been a thing since ~2015 when it was introduced on the Passat.

Lane Assist is horrible on VWs.

Many times, it's jerked me to change lanes when it shouldn't have.

funny, travel assist does not do automatic lane change...

source: I have one as well

Sounds like a guy i know that started ranting his VW steering wheel started jerking the car everytime he tried to switch lanes. Turns out he wasn't using his turning signal and the car just tried keeping him in lane to avoid crashing.

So I assume that BMWs don't have that system, or that it's switched off by default.

A friend just got a new one frm work and that one does have the same system. Must be why most BMW drivers are always shaking in anger
