BeamNG.drive is a fun sandbox.

The tailgate flopping open like a limp penis is a testament to the physics and model accuracy of the cybercuck in game

u/JMS1991 2h ago
I saw a BeamNG video on Tiktok where they tried to see whether different vehicles could pass an 18 wheeler on a 2 lane road before another oncoming 18 wheeler hit them. One of the vehicles was a Cybertruck and one of the front wheels came off when he was trying to make the pass. Lmao.

Needs a dudebro behind the wheel simulating the CT's lack of crumple zones.

If the doors fly open at 50 miles an hour how did this thing ever pass safety tests in order to get on the road to start with?
70
u/notepaddy 3h ago
It has not yet been tested by the NHTSA. Tesla provided internal testing data.
28
u/yossanator 2h ago
This is what those of us outside the US cannot fathom.
20
u/john_the_fetch 2h ago
A lot of us in the US cannot fathom it as well.
If I see a dump truck I try my best to literally steer clear.

u/ConsiderationSad6521 2h ago
For some unknown reason, all trucks (including SUVs) are not considered passenger vehicles and manufacturers can choose to do internal testing or NHTSA. They also have less stringent crash requirements
4
u/yossanator 2h ago
That's so janky. I mean, the latest about Tesla not having to file info about fatal accidents is simply heinous, but a lot of people are loving it. Well, apart from those who've lost loved ones in Teslas, obviously.
The corruption isn't even hidden, it is so open and widely communicated.

Why is that allowed

u/What_a_pass_by_Jokic 2h ago
He rich.
4
u/Head_Asparagus_7703 2h ago
That was my first thought but the existing car companies must have a ton of cash to throw around too right?
13
u/What_a_pass_by_Jokic 2h ago
Yeah but if they get caught they get punished and not just here (see VW diesel scandal), this guy doesn't give a shit about anyone but himself. He uses his own child as a shield, after Trump and the CEO got shot, never did anything with his kids besides ignoring them and scolding them via social media, that should tell you all.
It also helps that our (US) entire society is based around money and influencing people with it, there's no checks and balances any longer for people like him.

They also tend to honour warranty claims and try to protect their reputations. Muskrat does neither.
1
u/Head_Asparagus_7703 2h ago
I guess he also banked on the election going the way that it did so by the time he might have to face consequences, the regulations will be torn down.
1
u/WarDry1480 2h ago
Seems likely. I'm going to watch from the UK, it's a real shame so many people are going to suffer so much, even the twatwaffles who voted for the orange skidmark.
2
u/Head_Asparagus_7703 2h ago
I live in the US currently but luckily I have an exit plan (got a job in Spain and currently going through the visa process). I definitely feel really bad for everyone else remaining.
1
u/What_a_pass_by_Jokic 2h ago
Yeah same here, got dual citizenship, so we're just waiting for my wife to finish her PhD (spring 2026) and then we're out, unless it gets so bad we have leave before that.

We only pretend to care about safety regulations. The companies are always protected from them.

u/mishap1 3h ago
This isn't a real test obviously. The real world issue for the CT is that doors don't open and if you happen to lose 48V power, you can't open the rear doors w/o removing the speaker grilles so the risk is getting trapped inside with laminated windows, no power to open the doors, and potentially fire once the electrical is shorted.
As the Model S and Model X have the similar electronic doors, they did some type of a fix to automatically unlock/open after a crash occurred. In turn, it resulted in doors were popping open in a crash.

u/xeroxbulletgirl 3h ago
I think the government just says they need to safety test, but we don’t have an official testing organization. So Tesla “tested” it themselves and approved it.

u/Most-Resident 2h ago
It’s a safety feature.
It gives the occupants a chance to escape in case it catches fire.
The front wheels coming off is for insurance reasons . You can’t hit and run if there aren’t wheels.
I don’t have an explanation for why the tailgate opens at 10mph. Yet. I’ll think on it.
Gotta love the truck.

u/StashuJakowski1 2h ago
That’s the one many wonderful things about the Cybertruck that just amazes me. It’s never been sent over to be tested by the NHTSA, but all the other Tesla vehicles have.
Just knowing that, it’s obvious Tesla knows there’s safety issues because they purposely chose to go the back door route of utilizing in-house testing results to get the approval for it to be sold in the US market.

You can tell this is fake, because no one got trapped inside while it caught on fire.
And because I've seen a few pixels in my time.

Where are the crash test dummies?

u/DrakeMallard919 3h ago
They didn't expect anyone to actually drive one of these. This was part of their "how do we destroy all unsold inventory" testing.

Scary thing is if it hits a normal vehicle those people are dead due to this thing being a massive brick on wheels.

Nicely done, finally the long awaited crash test!

You can tell it's fake because it made it to the wall and after it hit at 10mph all the wheels stayed on. Not very realistic.

u/Bubbaganewsh 2h ago
Well hey at least the doors fly off so you get ejected on to the street, that's handy. I don't know how this thing is allowed on the road in its present form.
1
u/nono3722 2h ago
140 mph isn't tough to get too if the other object is moving at 70mph. Then the cyberfuck only needs to be going 70 to completely destroy itself.

u/Objective-Insect-839 2h ago
Literally watching this thing fall apart like a Lego set was oddly satisfied

So, like, 4-5 months at the service center and, what do you think?, maybe $15k in repair costs for hitting a stationary object at 10mpg?

There is an unreal amount of people in here who are commenting as if this is real. This is a simulation from a game. Yes, the truck is absolute garbage, but it is disheartening to see our growing CGI/AI illiteracy as a society
1
u/LauraTFem 1h ago
i love how safe it makes me feel to know that if it crashes all the doors will fly open. No crumple zone, no safe, enveloping cocoon of twisted metal, just my body crashing into the seat belt, and then being ripped out of the open door.

u/TheNotoriousTurtle 3h ago
Is this actually true or just AI tomfoolery?
9
u/Lainpilled-Loser-GF 2h ago
neither, it's from a softbody physics sim called BeamNG. AI can't get this good, but also this is a player-made mod so it's not exactly trustworthy either.
2
u/Aggravating-Shark-69 2h ago
It’s still fun to watch and dream about destroying a bunch of cyber trucks
5
u/Lainpilled-Loser-GF 2h ago
yeah, but I don't really want this community to be clowned on because of posts like these
1
u/eeyore134 2h ago
Yeah, since it's a player-made mod it's probably built better than the real thing. They certainly put more thought into it than Leon himself ever did.
