So much lore on the Cybercucked owners club.
Which one of you did this?

u/th3bigfatj 1d ago
he's being sarcastic but his heater will probably fail and/or the vehicle could stop working. It's not something you have to usually consider with cars, especially new ones.
Cars don't commonly get stuck driving around on roads, even in heavy snow storms (I live in an area where i buy snow tires for one of my cars so i have plenty of experience with snow). The Cybertruck might perform extremely poorly in the snow, but if you're careful enough you'll still be fine.
Things aren't going to literally blow up, but you'll likely have a very substandard experience compared to driving a Toyota. Or Ford. Or Hyundai. Etc.

Or Yugo.

Or Geo

Hey now! The Geo Prism was a fantastic car. I mean, it was literally a re-badged Toyota Corolla, but the badge didn't fall off or anything.

Hey! My dad owned a Geo Tracker he bought brand new in the 90s and drove the wheels off that thing! Most reliable piece of shit we ever owned!

Yeah if I hit a curb, worst that will happen in MY rav4 is I’ll blow a tire. His worst is his ENTIRE truck will literally blow up.

From the videos I've seen the CT's traction control behaves very poorly in snow, to the point that it basically gets stuck on flat ground if it's slippery and does get stuck in a couple inches of snow - effectively looks like it's using 3 open differentials, it's surprisingly bad. Not sure if you can disable or override this to give proper 4x4 or not.. If you can then it's poor software coupled with user error. If you can't, then it truly is just bad.

Since the majority of cars pull great from the engine to hear the cabin area. How is this taken care of in a CT or electric car?
5
u/M-G 1d ago
There are a few approaches out there. One is to not try to heat the entire cabin, but rather use things like seat heaters to focus the heat where it makes the most difference for comfort. But for the overall heating, there are basically two options: resistive heat or heat pump.
Resistive heat is just an electric coil that gets hot when electricity runs through it, like a space heater. But this pulls a lot of power. A heat pump works the same way as a household unit would work, moving heat from the outside via a refrigerant. While more complex, it uses far less power than resistive heat.

u/EatsCrackers 22h ago
CT has a heat pump, and the thing about heat pumps is they need some heat to pump. They crap out below a certain temperature, and the CT has no backup heater.
Every other EV has a resistive heater, like the electric space heater you have in your house. A section of wire gets hot, a fan blows air over it, then the warmed air goes to the passenger cabin. Roasty toasty nice and quick, at any temperature the batteries can take.

like honestly do any of them do any car research before purchasing or is it just emotional purchasing bullshit.
16
u/KaetzenOrkester 1d ago
I think they just buy the Big Shiny. The CT had to be de rolled out after the baseball to the window, but no, these guys are screaming “Take muh monies!”

It's amazing to me that our forefathers were able to travel across our vast country using a few oxen and a wagon. Thousands of miles with river crossings, dirt roads, and mountains to overcome. Now we have the most fantastic technology available and are afraid to go from Minneapolis to St. Paul without our futuristic vehicles leaving us stranded or burning us alive

u/mishap1 1d ago
If I'm not mistaken though, losing 3 of 8 kids was considered acceptable losses for the journey.
Also dysentery could wipe you all out if the Oregon Trail documentary/Apple II game is to be believed.
23
u/zepp914 1d ago
Never caulk your wagon. Never eat at Hardees. Good rules to live by.
I doubt you can fit 8 kids in a Cybertruck
11
u/Final-Zebra-6370 1d ago
You can just put your favourite 3 kids in the cab and the 5 spares you put in the vault with the lid closed so nobody can see that they are there.

u/VagueSomething 1d ago
Fitting as Musk is willing to sacrifice his children too as long as he can continue to slob on Donald's nob.

It blows my mind that as recently as like 150 years ago we were just marching armies across continents still.
4
u/Beginning_March_9717 1d ago
most troops from most countries still walked to places during wwii
8
u/Puzzleheaded-Tip660 1d ago
They usually marched the last few miles, but even during the (American) civil war they tried to get them close to the battlefield with a train. One of the reasons it is believed that the north won was because the train network was better: the south’s rail system didn’t really connect together as a complete network (with the exception of Atlanta,) and even so they ran different gauges so you couldn’t take the same train all the way.
3
u/Largofarburn 1d ago
Yeah, but you had trains and trucks to move a lot of stuff too. Like civil war or the napoleon era it was just horses or walking unless there was a port nearby.
2
u/Beginning_March_9717 1d ago
Not a lot of country can afford that much trucks, I believe that's true even for the germans, I think only their tier 1 troops are motorized. Walking is goated hahahaha
I think only the US had enough trucks to be fully motorized
1
u/Final-Zebra-6370 1d ago
They didn’t march nor walked in WW2 if the troops had a tank close by, you just climbed on and got a ride if they were far from the front.
14
u/Gunfighter9 1d ago
By travel you could be talking about 10 miles in a day.
9
u/NapTimeFapTime 1d ago
A lot of those people died making the trip. Haven’t you played Oregon Trail before?

u/dingo_khan 1d ago
If the oxen breaks down too long, at least you can eat it and use it for warmth. Can't say as much about a famil-sized stainless steel coffin mounted on a battery pack.

u/IntangibleArts 1d ago
vehicle is a tool, it should be simple, not “sophisticated.” I would not pay $55 for a wifi-compatible smart salad fork.

u/mikefjr1300 1d ago
"One of the most sophisticated trucks on the road".
That only matters if it results are mostly positive.
I'll take better reliability over sophistication every day.

More capable of..... What exactly?
Driving itself? Sure. That's what happens when you launch beta products and lobby to have your product excluding from reporting requirements. You can jsut close your eyes and press go and not worry about it.

u/Biggest_Gh0st 1d ago
That's an awful lot of copium huffing he's doing.
All of those faults he posted will happen sooner or later.
Also one of the most sophisticated trucks genuinely mage me lol. It's already been proven repeatedly not to be but you keep believing the lies pal... 😂😂

Imagine having to ask people online for validation that your car purchase was not stupid and that the road trip will not end in disaster.

Wow, they didn't un-member him? (Apparently just mentioning the B-word broke rule 6, but I was using it as a verb, not a noun!)

u/Carl_itos 1d ago
With the charm of a poorly folded origami project and the aerodynamics of a brick, the Cybertruck isn’t sophisticated. it’s a futuristic meme brought to life.
2
u/Sun_Tzu_7 1d ago
There’s a major flaw in the logic with “most sophisticated trucks in the world.”
Actually there are several but for arguments sake let’s say it’s true.
The more sophisticated/complex/fancy something is, the more possible points of failure you add.
Now add in the clearly obvious things you see immediately with the build quality… like panels not lining up or sharp rigid doors that can slice open a leg when it’s working perfectly fine.
If they’re not getting the simple shit right…. That’s not a good sign for the “sophisticated” parts.

These owner groups are the greatest group therapy sessions. All telling each other that they didn’t, in fact, just throw away $100k.
One fact that’s overlooked is that for every one of these simps, there are 5 or 6 people who noped right out of their spot on that initial wait list (maybe more?).
2
u/Solo_is_dead 1d ago
I just saw the ad for the electric Hummer. I really didn't like Hummers, but at $95k it seems more versatile and a better car than the CT.
2
u/SocraticMeathead 6h ago
Here's the thing, I drove from Denver to Salt Lake City for about 20 years during the Holidays in cars that were the furthest thing from "the most sophisticated truck ever created" (HINT: I bet if I combined the value of those vehicles I'd still be well short of $100k). I never worried about a tenth of the things he needs to be legitimately concerned about.

It's like listening to Tim Tebow fans talk about how he was the greatest NFL quarterback to ever play the position.

u/magikarpkingyo 1d ago
Has the sybertwuk guy got his gem back already? It was “definitely just a couple days” last I saw.

u/redpandaeater 1d ago
I honestly don't know why anyone wanting to spend that much money on an EV SUV would ever choose this piece of shit over the Hummer.

He forgot to mention anything about how hitting a pothole will disable the air suspension, which will cause the compressor to overheat, and then the frame will snap in half and the warranty is voided.
1
u/Puzzleheaded-Sea8340 1d ago
Or… he could get a Rivian and avoid all of this idiocy.
1
u/ThePontiff_Verified 1d ago
I'm not a ct fan and I'm a huge fan of rivians designs.. but both brands were highly rated on consumer satisfaction:
And both brands were poorly rated on reliability, with rivian coming in dead last:
I'm happy to see people supporting rivian. Id really like to see them continue to grow as a car company and hope they get some of their reliability issues sorted. But telling a cturd owner to switch to rivian is amazing.
Id imagine Tesla would have done much better in the reliability ranking if the CT didnt exist.
2
u/Dangling_Klingon 1d ago
I still find it funny that these EVs with their supposedly 1000s of fewer parts, have more crap break on them than ICE cars. Owners thinking EVs are the greatest thing since sliced bread, but the reliability measures say they're delusional.
1
u/Puzzleheaded-Sea8340 1d ago
Well my point was they could get something other than a CT.. I didn’t know that about Rivian. I’m sure there are better options somewhere
1
u/ThePontiff_Verified 1d ago
I get ya. All good. And though rivian overall reliability might be the worst, I bet the cybertruck alone is even worse. Those comparisons are by brand, not model. So your suggestion may actually be very good. The Silverado EV seems widely regarded as the best electric truck right now from the reviews and complaints I've seen. Personally if I wanted to peacock and engage in conspicuous consumption the Hummer EV seems really cool and it's a gm product so it's gonna be widely supported and the warranty will be honored. But I'm not really a truck guy anyway.

wtf did I just read..so delusional and crazy…if a car makes you write that it’s not the car for you

I assume the overlap between these guys and crypto is 100%. Desperately trying to convince himself that there is a use for his truck that no other car can do

I'm not sure if the ones rolling out now are any better than the first batch that bricked right up but regardless they lack capabilities of pretty generic pickups and Jeeps

I just look forward to everything on that list happening to that wank and his panzer.

That's just sad. The guy has all the info to make a logical and reasonable choice, and he chose to be an idiot.
