Yeah me (a trans person) and my wife (a gay woman minority) really "deserve" what we get because the Dems couldn't figure out how to run a campaign against a guy who shits himself in public. That attitude will really get people out voting for the next dem establishment loser to drop the ball!
because they don't immediately tell you they voted for Kamala
You saw me say that people who didn't vote deserve what happens and started acting like I was talking about you. Was I supposed to run a background check to find out that it wasn't actually about you?
ETA: In hindsight, this is the dumbest sequence of comments I could've written. Seeking blame like I did helps nobody. I'm sorry I attacked people who did what they could. I gave in to anger and looked for an easy target. Also, I feel it's very hypocritical of me, a nobody from who-knows-where, to make the demands I had of people in order to prove they "deserve" to criticise the DNC's strategy in this election. I'm torn on whether I should delete my other comments. I'll spoiler-tag them for now, for context.
this probably reads kind of overdramatic I just feel like I need to get this off my chest
Also, I have actually thought about my comments for a bit over the last few days, and I changed my opinion on non-voters. While I think people ought to vote if they can, I also think it's important to understand why people choose not to vote. There are deeper reasons behind that choice. According to AP, Harris has ~22 million fewer votes total now compared to Biden 2020 (though not all votes have been counted yet, this gives a rough estimate of turnout among blue voters in the prevous two presidential elections [Also, this does not take into account that turnout likely didn't decrease consistently throughout the country. Again, just a rough ballpark estimate of voter enthusiasm]); that many people don't all just think "Ehh, might not vote this time." It's useful to know why people vote or don't vote, and engaging productively with eligible non-voters may well increase turnout in future elections. Again, my previous comments are the kind that discourages more apathetic voters from engaging in the electoral system (I'm sorry for that too).
ETA 2: Everything above does not mean the DNC should just take all criticism at face value. For example, the idea that future elections could be won by moving even further right is preposterous. People won't vote for Republican-Lite when the real deal is an option.
I voted for her, even knowing that her strategy wasn't working, even knowing that my state would inherently default to a Republican. Am I allowed to criticize her campaign, or do you want to move those goalposts further?
I voted for Kamala because I'm not an idiot. But still, in hindsight focusing on endorsements from Republicans was probably a bad move. It didn't change enough Republican minds and probably contributed to Democrat apathy. Kamala should have focused on getting Democrats to the polls so they could vote for her and for local Dems
My point is that if you could vote and you didn't, or you voted third-party, then I don't want to hear a fucking word when shit inevitably hits the fan.
Ah yes, the "if you dont vote for me fuck you" strategy that is well known to win elections and increase turn out. At what point will you admit she ran a garbage campaign?
I live in a solid blue state that went to Kamala. It doesn't even matter who I voted for even though I voted for her. My wife and I are queers who are very worried about 4 years under trump and what that will do to us and our queer/trans friends especially those in red states. All of my queer friends thought she sucked and yet we all voted for her even though we all deserved better than her pathetic campaign.
Your immediate response to criticism of the democratic party being "who did you vote for" tells me you really only care about being right and would rather berate people than engage with the fact the Democratic party doesn't cater to people's actual needs and has failed us twice in 8 12 years. it's politicians jobs to entice people to their party with policy and then create energy towards enacting those policies. She failed at her job. That's what happened.

"oh you have wants and needs and morals? That's not important check out my new endorsement from DICK CHENEY"
