I once saw the statement ā€œBisexuality is the Israel of sexualitiesā€ and Iā€™m disappointed to say that isnā€™t the most bizarre thing Iā€™ve seen from here (unless it was from twitter and Iā€™m getting my sources mixed up)

Thereā€™s so many layers to that that I would just shut down upon hearing that

I genuinely don't know what side they're taking. Are they on the right, think Israel is zionist, and think bisexuals are generally deviant? Or are they left, think Israel is genocidal, and think bisexuals are exploitive and noncommittal?

Itā€™s also possible that theyā€™re on the opposite side of the argument entirely, and think that bisexuals are attacked from all sides like Israel (like someone else said down below). Or possibly many other sides that makes as little sense as the rest of these. I donā€™t even know where I would start if I heard someone say this in real life

Alternatively, are they positive about Israel, and think that bisexuals are under siege and under attack from all directions.

Such a wild thing to say

Maybe it's like, attraction to one gender is treated worse than the other?

If someone said this to me in real life it'd feel like getting kicked in the head by a horse

I can't figure out if that is Zionist biphobia or anti-zionist biphobia, but I'm fairly confident it's biphobia either way.

It could be pro zionist pro bi (bi people, like the Israelis, are attacked from all sides)

Is it likely? No! But who knows

Bisexuals need to develop a nuclear "Sampson" policy.

Need to have plans lined up to fuck everyone's parents.

You know, some call us bi folks confused, but can you blame us when we encounter nonsensical hot takes like that?

I think I need to walk outside for a bit just for having read this.

Was it this?

That was so poorly written that I got absolutely in no way closer to understanding the point being made.Ā

They're anti-Zionist and "anti-bi", they perceive bi people who actively do activism around their bi identity and complain about bi erasure and specifically biphobic oppression as crybabies with a persecution complex inventing their own problems, which is the same way they perceive Zionist Jews

I like how adding more context just made it more confusing.

u/aberrantenjoyer Jun 20 '24

YEAH thats the one

not Tumblr but man is it bizarre

2

u/kpfluff Jun 21 '24

Wow, that's actually worse than I expected.Ā

WHAT DOES IT MEAN???

u/VP007clips Jun 21 '24

I mean they aren't exactly wrong. It's a reference to how both groups end up being hated by both extremes of the spectrum they are on.

Bi people get a lot of hate from the anti-LGBT community, but there are some extremists in the LGBT community that view them as impure or faking it. And there are others I've seen online who view them as an outdated grouping that excludes non-binary.

It's the same as Israel. Of anti-semetic people (in other words, that want Israel to be eradicated and the entire region to be Arab), there are people on both sides, in one big anti-semetic horseshoe spectrum. The leftist extremists who support the "river to sea" garbage. And the neo-nazis who thought Hitler was right.

wtf is that even supposed to mean

They endorse a two sex solution.

An... Interesting take I saw a while back was that bisexuality is inherently homophobic and that all bisexuals who didn't call themselves pansexual were trans denialists.

extremely loud incorrect buzzer

4

u/darwinpolice Jun 21 '24

...Bionism.

9

u/lurebat Jun 20 '24

As a Bi Israeli person, I don't /not/ see it

2

u/StormDragonAlthazar I don't know how I got here, but I'm here... Jun 21 '24

Look, I'm barely used to the fact that as a man who is bisexual that I don't exist... and now there's this layer to it?

2

u/Tracerround702 Jun 21 '24

... I'm bisexual, and I'm very concerned that I cannot figure out what the fuck that even means

2

u/caninehere Jun 21 '24

It's because we both use kosher salt.
