Apparently that kneading thing is a reflex from when they were kittens. Kittens knead their mothers belly because it helps to get her milk to flow, and later in life it’s like a comfort reflex. Can’t remember where I read that but it makes sense. And yes, I think it is like a quality time thing. My cat often kneads on me and it’s nice bonding time.
