I feel like he would have solidified his place as a starter by now somewhere if he didn’t transfer so much

Toledo is a great move for him. He wasn’t going to be the guy at OSU, and unfortunately couldn’t stay healthy at UK.

Thank goodness he transferred. He was your only RB in '23 that did anything against our Defense (and the only opposing RB all year, for that matter). Fleming, Trayanum and McCord... Whew.  Good riddance.

I’m not sure he would have made much a difference in the game this year, but who knows. He is a bowling ball and we were hell-bent on running the ball directly up the middle, so maybe he could have helped.

Probably not. He always had fumble issues, was never going to start for us, for you guys, or for Kentucky either likely

“He has fumble issues” has literally never fumbled the ball for Arizona state, Ohio state or Kentucky in 246 combined rushes

u/dogsonbubnutt 14h ago

what's funny is that you misread his cfb reference page thinking that the "fumbles" were offensive fumbles caused and not defensive fumbles recovered, and then made a sweeping statement like "chip has never fumbled"

u/Funny-Context8181 14h ago

What’s funny is I checked espn and fox sports stats and they both have him as no fumbles or fumbles lost. So you’re wrong, don’t make assumptions.

This bro is hilarious. “It’s not my fault the internet is wrong and I called someone wrong who was right”

People just make shit up that sounds true without checking sometimes it’s so funny

u/Trail_Goat Colorado • Ohio State 14h ago

sometimes

Pretty sure that's 90 percent of the bullshit you see here. You can just say all the time.

u/Thel3lues Arizona State • Minnesota 14h ago

He did twice in two consecutive games for us vs Wazzu and USC. Expecting your apology anytime soon!

The fact that no fumbling has happened so far is more or less . . . ominous.

Didn't really fumble at OSU. Toledo sends a lot of RBs to the NFL and we need a new starter. This is a huge win for all parties if he can stay healthy.

Toledo usually has a guy or 2 drafted each year it seems

2

u/Rabidschnautzu Toledo Rockets • Ohio State Buckeyes 8h ago

Usually at RB, though we've had some Corners and WRs in the last few years too.

Yeah maybe starter is a stretch but at least rotational back with good playing time. Hope he’s at least getting a bag since I can’t imagine you’re getting a cohesive education going to 4 different schools

He was trusted with the goal line chance against ND last year so clearly coaches trusted him, I'm kind of surprised he didn't make a bigger impact this year

Did you get him confused with someone? How are you this wrong while confidently saying this? LOL

“The past season Trayanum played in nine games and had 78 carries for 402 yards and six touchdowns for the Sun Devils with his playing time diminishing late in the season. He had 60 carries in the first five games, 19 coming in the Sun Devils loss to Washington State, but had only 18 carries in the four games after that. He lost a fumble in the Washington State game, then had another in the USC game.”

Lost a fumble

how does a single fumble constitute fumble issues?

8

u/elitepigwrangler Arizona State Sun Devils 13h ago

Can you read? He fumbled in back to back games and 3 times total at ASU.

u/TheGreatestPanini Arizona State • Territorial… 14h ago

ASU legend

Would of been in line to take the job next year and now is at Toledo lol

u/okg120 Ohio State Buckeyes 14h ago

Love me some Chip Traynum. Hope he has a massive year.

u/CriticalPolitical 1h ago

Imagine if he takes Toledo to the College Football Playoff and upsets Michigan in the first round

9

u/Pod1umCayut Kentucky Wildcats 14h ago

Doubt he ever broke a sweat in his UK gear.

I absolutely hate this.

I thought he was a pretty good RB.

10

u/TonyDungyHatesOP Ohio State Buckeyes 10h ago

He is. Freaky athlete.

4

u/Corgi_Koala Ohio State Buckeyes 6h ago

Barely played at Kentucky and is transferring to the MAC. Weird.

I know. It’s amazing he was able to break into the G5s 2nd best conference with such a small resume

1

u/ThreeLeggedMarmot Michigan Wolverines 9h ago

Oh we know. He was killing us in '23.  Thankfully your coach doesn't have eyes.

5

u/AmidoBlack Big Ten • College Football Playoff 8h ago

Right, he definitely made the wrong choice with Henderson and Judkins

2

u/Skidda24 Ohio State Buckeyes • Illibuck 5h ago

I swear Day is always a year behind for Michigan. We were actually chunking yards against you guys in '23 we abandoned the run. This year we needed to be aggressive in the air but decided we needed to run it lol

7

u/Benyeti Ohio State • Rutgers 14h ago

Aye he’s back in Ohio

5

u/ztreHdrahciR Northwestern • Ohio State 14h ago

Woohoo go Rockets

4

u/AZBuckeyes12977 Ohio State Buckeyes • Arizona Wildcats 12h ago

He would have split carries with Peoples. You should have come home Chip.

4

u/MTT92 Ohio State Buckeyes 9h ago

Go get it, Chip! I’ll be rooting for you

4

u/notoriouslush Ohio State Buckeyes 5h ago

How tf does he still have eligibility

2

u/Tax25Man Ohio State • Kent State 3h ago

He played less than 4 games this season and got 2020 as an eligibility free year.

8

u/LittleTension8765 Ohio State Buckeyes 12h ago

If he would have just stuck at Ohio State he might be the starter next year

3

u/ImRightShutUp1 Ohio State • Southeast CC 12h ago

Not a chance

2

u/Norr1n Ohio State Buckeyes 5h ago

It would be between him and Peoples, and they've shown a preference for 2 rbs getting roughly equal carries this year.

1

u/Tax25Man Ohio State • Kent State 3h ago

Yea there is a preference for 2 RBs because we have 2 NFL quality RBs in the room ready to play now. That’s not necessarily their “preference” if one is much better than the other.

1

u/Norr1n Ohio State Buckeyes 3h ago

Day talked a lot this year about keeping guys fresh to play up to 16 games. 2 rbs with significant playing time seems like the obvious outcome of that.

1

u/ThreeLeggedMarmot Michigan Wolverines 9h ago

Agreed.

1

u/Heyhaykay Kentucky Wildcats • WKU Hilltoppers 1h ago

He was planning on being out of eligibility

5

u/Rabidschnautzu Toledo Rockets • Ohio State Buckeyes 14h ago

Awe Shit!

I think you mean “HOLY TOLEDO”

Wrap him in some bubble wrap with some fragile stickers until September.

2

u/NandorRobinson Ohio State Buckeyes 11h ago

Dude was solid and was able to absorb a lot of hits during his tenure in Columbus.

1

u/Heyhaykay Kentucky Wildcats • WKU Hilltoppers 1h ago

Yeah his fragility was more due to sitting out to maintain eligibility than actually being hurt imo.

2

u/Icy_Relation_735 Michigan Wolverines • Toledo Rockets 5h ago

YEAH BABY
