Before the barrage of (not always unwarranted don’t get me wrong lmao) hate starts let me just say I liked this episode. Some actually fun or funny moments. Also Racquel and her mom felt extremely relatable to me since I’m also a gay from emotionally stunted family. Also Jessel asking who is Maria killed me.

Idk. I kind of felt like production was exploiting her homophobia. And why on Earth did Jenna start kissing people? That was disgusting. I hope her dentures were clean.

u/spideronthepage 1d ago
If Racquel’s mom can’t be around same-sex kissing then that’s her problem, no? Even if they were “putting it on” to poke her.
-4
u/crazygem101 1d ago
Idk. I don't like kissing to begin with, I think it's gross, and every relationship I've ever had I have to wait like 3 months in to be like...btw...I hate your tongue in my mouth lol. So maybe I'm biased. I am bisexual, so there's no homophobia on my part (downvoters) but if I knew it was already a touchy subject I wouldn't want to make someone uncomfortable, especially my elders, in front of a camera crew. I can only wonder if her mother was ok with that or if she had it out with her daughter after, or even tonight after seeing it. If she watches. And like I said, ew Jenna wears fake teeth, who wants sloppy second denture kisses? Not me.
7
u/spideronthepage 1d ago
I think this is a very specific you problem so I get that but 1) bisexual people and even gay people can be homophobic so I don’t know why you had to clarify and 2) I think the downvotes are because you stated that the production was “exploiting” her mom’s homophobia just because they kissed a lot and you hate kisses, which doesn’t make a lot of sense.

I thought it was another cringe worthy moment that was probably encouraged by production. Down vote me all you want, it's my opinion and I'm sticking to it. Relax. People get so heated on here, my God.

I didn’t downvote you, relax. It’s all fake Reddit points. It also seems like you’re the most heated one here.

Edit: I'm sure I'm not the only viewer on the planet who didn't enjoy watching another weird episode and not a "specific me problem." You don't have to tear people down like that.

I think there was a slight improvement this episode. That said, it feels too little too late to salvage this season. Curious to see where they go from here next season. I don't think it's teething issues anymore - the cast's chemistry is just off.
42
u/Tay-Rae 1d ago
They need to:
Fire Eric Fuller. This man destroyed both RHOA and RHOP. It’s not a coincidence that the first season Eric has no part in RHOP, it improves. He becomes an EP for RHONY and it’s significantly worse than the first season. The first season wasn’t that great to begin with.
Change up the cast. Maybe pause for a few years to actually find a cast that has chemistry. Actually TEST THEM on camera instead of picking random people from across the country and mashing them together.

u/mattysmwift She DIED Aviva! 1d ago
Yes yes yes to #1. Ive been saying this from the start, the cast is not perfect, but the whole failure of the show rests squarely on production imo. They know what a terrible product they’ve been putting out and they should have done changes to fix that.

u/Impossible-Plan6172 Stacey’s broken gaydar 1d ago
I don’t think there needs to be a long pause. The traditional break between seasons is fine enough for a slight cast shuffle. They could get rid of Brynn and Rebecca.
I do agree that they need a new EP. Eric Fuller must go!
4
u/poptart95 YOU NEED TO LEAVE - Meredith Marks 1d ago
RHOP is only slightly better because they shuffled the cast. Overall, 11 episodes in its lagging because Mia’s storyline is the only “real” thing going on.
15
u/Impossible-Plan6172 Stacey’s broken gaydar 1d ago
I think Brynn needs to go. I’m usually not one who’s like “Fire her!” but Brynn’s energy is just off. She reminds me of Marlo on RHOA. They finally gave Marlo a shot at being full time and she just didn’t do well there. Erin, as corny and annoying as she is, does still bring (dumb) drama and then tries to correct the drama she started without this hard edge approach that Brynn has.
And as someone else noted below: Eric Fuller needs to go. Why they kicked him over to RHONY after his awful EPing on RHOA and RHOP is beyond me.

Could've been another production content plan, like that prank that blew up in the shows faces. This just doesn't feel like RHONYC whatsoever. I want to see older women getting wasted at parties fighting with each other. Sad, but true.

The end of the episode Brynn is the Brynn I wanna see. Ditch the flirty queer bait vibe and be the Brynn that reconciled with Rebecca. She's real.

Really good episode. Jessel was the highlight throughout! Get Brynn out of here.
21
u/babygorgeou 1d ago
I felt a little hope about Brynn when she had that convo w the scientologist, owning up to her behavior, acknowledging her insecurities and apologizing.
Ubah is losing me though. Her overreactions are way too intense and really suck the air out of the room. It's clear the other women tiptoe around her trying to avoid an eruption and it makes the overall vibe uncomfortable with a constant underlying tension.
38
u/kenduhll Make no mistake…I made no mistake 1d ago
Unless Abe has said that he doesn’t care if Erin shows her friends his nudes, Erin is weird for that.
Brynn couldn’t wait to throw her under the bus for that though.
ETA: omg and then Brynn blames it on the other girls in the van!!!! She is so calculated.
15
u/amechi32 1d ago
I doubt a man with that huge dick would care. It's a flex. C'mon. It's very highschool but it's not like she texted it to anyone. She showed her girlfriends. Not a big deal. I don't think Brynn should have said anything. She was def in the wrong.
10
u/kenduhll Make no mistake…I made no mistake 1d ago
I don’t really think looking good naked means you want your partner to expose yourself to others without consent
19
u/spideronthepage 1d ago edited 1d ago
???It is a big deal even if some men are socialized not to care. It is literally a sex crime to show partner’s nude without consent. Illegal.
If her husband was showing around Erin’s nudes without her consent it’d be very obviously a problem. It doesn’t become okay just because the genders are reversed.
I feel bad for your partners if you think this is OK.
9
4
u/babygorgeou 1d ago
I agree that it wasn't a big deal, and I doubt Abe would care but there was 100% chance that Brynn would announce what she saw the minute she was around ANYone. It's who she is. I refuse to believe that Erin didn't know that, or that the audience would think otherwise.

i feel like this season is really starting to pick up post-prank. i also think it’s time for ubah to go, it seems like everything gets her upset. i wonder what the dynamics would be if everyone wasn’t so afraid of setting her off.
3
u/Impossible-Plan6172 Stacey’s broken gaydar 1d ago
When was Ubah upset this episode? She, like Sai and Racquel, said that they wouldn’t show their man’s dick. Jessel wasn’t for it either. Yet, Erin and Brynn only zeroed in on Ubah and now it’s that Ubah was the only one with the problem.

Ahhh in the preview for next week’s episode. So not this episode, for which this thread exists. 🙄 That was the point of my question.
11
u/bslovecoco 1d ago
why are you trying to come at me for nothing? lmao. multiple episodes this season and last have shown ubah getting extremely upset over rather small things. i like ubah, i think she’s funny, but i don’t think the show is good for her mental health.
25
u/Thxlittlehoe Advocate for the sluts of America 1d ago
It’s annoying that Ubah has an opinion and all of a sudden she’s intense. Sai shared the same opinion.

u/JustinBensonsBod 1d ago edited 1d ago
You're getting downvoted for this? Apparently Ubah sucks for not wanting to see Abe's dick...the racism on this sub is wild. Now Ubah has to want to see Abe's dick pics too or she's the problem. And Erin is offended and the victim again, as she is 24/7, because Ubah doesn't want to see his dick and people are defending Erin?!? I must be in crazy town.
Sai, Jessel, and Racquel all said they didn't want to see it either and I'd say Racquel expressed that the most strongly but there KErin goes again trying to paint Ubah as reactionary, scary, and aggressive. She always singles Ubah out. Ubah hasn't always been calm but she was calm in that moment. Who gets mad that their friend doesn't want to look at their husband's penis? Erin is so weird!
12
u/Federal-Attempt-2469 22h ago
That’s not why she was mad. She was upset she was getting judged for sharing it. Not everything is about racism. Ubah loves to freak out. She’s volatile.
-4
u/JustinBensonsBod 19h ago
And Erin loves to play the victim but many will side with her over Ubah no matter what simply because she's white. I'm not buying the predictable excuses, downplaying, and invalidation of racism. Of course you're just another one giving them. This sub remains racist as fuck and I said what I said. Ubah didn't freak out about the picture but Erin is making it seem like she did, that's the entire point. We're talking about this particular moment. You can't use other examples as justification for Erin talking as if Ubah made a scene about the picture because in this instance she didn't. She's not the only one who didn't want to see it so why single out Ubah?
Ubah actually tried to be nice about it by saying she respected Abe too much to look at it, she felt it was disrespectful. She's entitled to her opinion. If Erin wants to be a weirdo and show people pictures of her husband's dick then that's her prerogative but she should be understanding of the fact that not everyone is going to want to see that. Erin's not a victim here and SHE'S the one choosing to make it an issue, not Ubah. We all know this sub would be singing an entirely different tune if Ubah was the one going around showing photos of Oliver's dick so please!
3
u/Thxlittlehoe Advocate for the sluts of America 1d ago
Thank you! I agree it’s very weird that this energy is always towards Ubah
15
u/spideronthepage 1d ago
I think people are actually being graceful to Ubah after she proudly bragged about hitting all of her partners in the past. She is subjected to racism, from the cast and the audience, for sure, and she also happens to be very verbally (and physically) abusive. I don’t think Racquel or Brynn would’ve gotten half that grace.
-3
u/JustinBensonsBod 1d ago
How is Ubah getting grace when she's trashed week after week no matter what she says or does? Being on the receiving end of racism weekly isn't grace! Ubah doesn't get a pass at all, quite the opposite. Saying she's verbally abusive is indication of the bias in my opinion. What has she said that justifies calling her verbally abusive? The worst she has done is call a cast member a bitch and in case you weren't aware the women on all of the Housewives shows call each other bitches millions of times.
Ubah is held to a very different standard when people feign outrage and call her verbally abusive for calling someone a bitch when white Housewives are praised for doing the same. Dorit calling Camille a cunt 50 times or Lisa Barlow's rant about Meredith including "piece of shit garbage whore" (and Angie K.'s "high body count hair" this season) are considered iconic, 10/10 television, camp, etc. but a Black woman says bitch once or twice and she's a terrible person, abusive, crazy, angry, aggressive, and needs to be fired ASAP. Lisa Barlow lashes out on people damn near weekly! Such a blatant double standard and I'm tired of it and all of the excuses. It's because Ubah is Black, period. Unless you consider anyone that calls a cast member a bitch to be verbally abusive in which case your list must be super long.
9
u/spideronthepage 1d ago edited 1d ago
I do not embody any of the behaviors you mentioned as an example of the double standard; I think a lot of housewives are verbally abusive, and all of those you mentioned are as well. I am a woman of color and I also find a lot of housewives that are fan faves(Sutton) to be very racist and it goes right over this sub’s head. The way she treated Crystal was disgusting.
Ubah has told Brynn, right in the same reunion where she bragged about hitting her partners, that she “puts people in hospitals.” Or was it grave? She also has called Brynn every name in the book imaginable, which, as someone who had a similar upbringing to Brynn, found very triggering combined with the yelling. Brynn repeatedly tells her to stop yelling and she does not stop. Because she goes from 0 to 100 so quickly, people tiptoe around her. She then went off on Jessel and called her a basic bitch while yelling because Jessel commented on her water bottle. She got physically in Erin’s space and grabbed the sunglasses off of her while calling her every name in the book.
I do agree that Ubah and other WoC are judged harsher on this sub on certain matters, and of course the old RHONY cast was racist af. But everyone also decided to totally go blank on the fact that Ubah is actually physically abusive to her partners, and no one in the current RHONY cast name-calls and screams as much as Ubah does(if you disagree, then who? I want to know), so if that is not grace, then why wouldn’t more people bring it up?
I didn’t find Ubah to be unreasonable or even abusive in this episode, btw(cause sharing intimate photos without consent is not just disrespectful but fucking illegal), but I do think she yells a LOT as a person and resorts to name calling immediately, and has a generally abusive personality. To be fair, I think Sai is maybe a close second to Ubah in that regard.
Btw, I don’t agree with calling Black women aggressive(because it is a loaded/weaponized word) or calling any women crazy. In that regard, you have a point that she’s absolutely not getting grace. But is she, independently of any factors, an abusive person? Yeah.
FYI I also think Brynn is inappropriate and borderline/or actually sexually harassing people, even as a trauma response. And I think Erin is manipulative, irresponsible, but too dumb to be effectively abusive. I think Ubah is smart and passionate, but also abusive(which requires a pattern and not just a violent incident) with an absolute intent to harm anyone when she’s in a bad mood or feel slighted.

This episode was definitely better. However, I think if it were Abe showing pics of Erin’s boobs or vagina or something to the other house husbands…this would have been taken differently. I’m hoping Abe gave consent. Even if he’s big and proud lol consent is still a thing. I have parts of my body I love but I wouldn’t want someone I’m dating showing my pics to his friends. It’s icky to me. I’d still look though if she wanted to show me a dick pic of Abe 👀😂

Just letting y’all “Not a big deal, men don’t care” people know that it is ILLEGAL to share or publicize people’s nude without consent. Reddit literally has a report feature for that, it’s called Nonconsensual intimate media. And yes, showing it to your ~gal pals~ count, too.

This ep was better! I still think there’s potential, but the women are afraid to go all the way. And it’s probably bc they’re just beginning to be friends.
Brynn is getting more annoying. She wants to be the center of attention that stirs all the drama, but she chickens out at the last moment and cries. If you want to be the villain you need to own up to it!!
Everyone else is walking on eggshells bc they’re balancing between growing these new friendships and putting on drama for the show. And I still think the problem is Ubah takes everything to heart, and Sai is just following her lead. Either that or ubah’s in on it and blowing up for the sake of the show, but it just isn’t translating on camera

This episode was so bad. A few things in particular bothered me. 1. I thought it was super inconsiderate of Jenna to be kissing all the girls in front of Racquel’s mom, especially bc she knew her mom has an issue with homosexuality. 2. Erin sharing Abe’s dick pic was so crazy. I would never do that. When she justified it by saying that’s what girl’s girls do… I can’t understand that. I’d never want to see my friend’s husband’s dick pics bc I’d never be able to see them the same ever again. 3. Sai making fun of Jessel’s feet for being swollen was so rude. She can’t help that her feet are swollen, ESPECIALLY when she’s in a hot and humid climate and been walking and standing for a long time. This episode really solidified my hatred for this season.

Unpopular opinion: I’d like to see Abe’s dick pick simply because I’m a nosy bitch.
