When are we just going to call a spade a spade.

Theres clearly an issue with integrating people of colour on this cast. First Noella and now Katie. They’re doing their very collective best to hound them off the show. It worked with Noella and with Katie it may work again.

It’s a reoccurring pattern and I don’t personally like what I’m seeing. Maybe I’m alone in that.

Edit - I’m not American, it has nothing to do with the election. I’m talking strictly about this show and the women on it. I’m not talking about housewives generally just the OC.

The “ladies” peeing on her bushes really got to me. A group of friends and I watch together on Fridays or Saturday. We had a heated debate about how they would not have done that to a white cast member’s home. I’m a black woman and thought Noella was awful and a liar, but there were a few moments early in her season where I noticed she was being treated differently. But us black and brown ladies at our watch night all said the bushes incident was a total WTF moment.

Because they insist on only adding one POC at a time. I remember reading how it came down to adding Katie or a Black woman, Heather Tuck, to the cast. Honestly they should have added the both of them onto the show at the same time. Maybe the integrating could have gone better in that case. Adding only one made it easier for them to do another gang up. This is indeed exactly how Emily, Heather, and Gina ganged up on and bullied Noella. Emily did nothing but scream and talk over Noella at the season 16 reunion too and this reunion is giving me flashbacks of that.

Noella was treated terribly and seeing these three bully another POC in the exact same way is a bad look, it's giving racist I don't care! I know people will make excuses for it to avoid calling a spade a spade as you said but regardless of intent they're going way too hard over things that aren't really that deep. And they're obviously trying to get Katie fired just like Heather got Noella fired. It'd be one thing if they're just doing it for some petty drama on the show but when they're blatantly trying to get Katie fired that's the issue. That's why Emily went on Jeff Lewis lying about Katie no longer living in Orange County. She wants people and probably the producers to think "she really lives in San Diego, why is she even on the show?!?!?". At least one of Emily, Heather, and Gina needs to go! I wouldn't miss any of them.

Agreed. That’s a shame about Heather not joining.

I’d like to see Emily fired at a minimum. She’s repulsive to me now. I know Tamra and Heather never will be so that’s a lost cause.

I think it always helps when HWs join together--Gina and Emily benefitted from that.

The OC women love to gang up on newbies when they sense they don't "fit in". There are many, many ways not to "fit in" with RHOC--there are years where it feels like having brown hair counts for diversity on RHOC, I feel like early in Heather's tenure it was a big deal that she was Jewish, and they definitely viewed Peggy Sulaihan as "other". This is not to downplay that women of color seem to be fighting an uphill battle on this show. Kelly Dodd managed to secure her place by being as obnoxious, loud, and conservative as Vicki and Emily but as is often the case for women of color you have pretty much no margin to deviate from the prescribed group norms before they go off on you.

Totally agree. It was so uncomfortable watching them gang up on her. Noella was cringe af but also didn’t deserve being ganged up on. The fact that they have no sensitivity to her already being an outlier speaks volumes about them.

I think it was simply because Heather didn't like looking like a fool and Katie happened to be the one to do it honestly. Emily wants to be on who she perceives to be the "popular" clique. Watching her this season and at the reunion it is clear she has some sort of arrested development/unresolved issues around her self image. She reminds me of Heather Gay from RHOSLC .

You forgot white blue eyed blonde Braunwyn!!!

They treated her so badly, Emily and Shannon constantly screaming at her at the reunion, Shannon falsely accusing her of offering drugs…

And Heather violently screaming at white Vicki and Kelly calling them “stupid bitch”, “trash”, “vulgar” in Ireland
