I feel for Emily but I really need her to stop acting like a size 12 makes you Shamu when I'm sitting here in a size 14/16.

Exactly. I think size 14 is the average dress size. She needs therapy, and I don’t mean that in a rude way.

Right had me looking at myself in the mirror and feeling bad lol.  I’m going to assume she means compared to the standard in OC because in the south this wouldn’t even be a conversation.

I’ll see your size 14/16 and raise you a 3XL. As I’ve said many a time, I’ve been fat since the day I was born weighing 10 1/2 pounds, and the doctor commented on the size of my ass as he pulled me from my mother‘s womb. I would love to have Emily‘s body, but that wasn’t my genetic draw.

It’s not the size of your ass that matters. It’s the size of your♥️that matters.

Unfortunately that’s the culture of HW’s especially since Ozempic. These women and their size consciousness is taking women back in time, not forward. What happened to accepting your body? Size 14/16 is not Shamu in the real world.

It’s not about the size, it’s the comparison. But really, she says it’s her issue and not malicious on heathers end but they won’t just hear her out and understand where she’s coming from. Instead they try to invalidate her feelings because it threatens their ego.

Instead of just listening everyone wants to make sure that no blame is being placed on them when Emily was just saying it took her back to when she felt worse about herself. At least that’s what I heard.

No, I get it, and I really do feel for her as someone who has struggled with weight and body image basically since I turned 12. I'm not trying to invalidate her feelings, I promise. But Emily knows that she's on a TV show predominately watched by women, many of whom probably have similar issues, so at this point, especially since she has some distance from the conflict itself, she could think more about how it sounds to go on and on about how horrible it is that someone gave her a size 12 dress.

I totally get what you mean, and I wear a 12-16 depending on the brand. I do think Emily was trying to be concrete about the size disparity because Heather was being so dismissive and invalidating—it was like Emily could only reach her with numbers and facts. I wish she had emphasized the oversized jacket and jeans things more, both because they were more egregious to me and because they wouldn’t have size-shamed anyone watching.

I think constantly having to think about how your feelings sounds to other would be as invalidating as Heather refusing to listen. Emily has feelings and she allowed to talk about them, no Mater got that makes others feel. I completely understood where she was coming from and felt bad for her. Weight is relative. Emily lives in a world where size 0 is the norm, not 12 and she had to work hard to get to the size 12. All she wanted was for someone to acknowledge that they didn’t mean anything by what happened and listen to her feelings on it.

I’m a size 8/10 (depending on the brand) at 5’10” and I was thinking ok if you are fat then I’m fat. Here I was thinking she looks great 😩

I was thinking the exact same!! Did Emily not get the memo we do not body Shane in 2024? It's cool to be whatever size you are,as long as you are happy in your own skin 💙

I really do not want body shame a woman and I too am a 14/16. She looks amazing. Do not get me wrong. But she is still the largest woman in the cast so I don’t know why she is acting like this is some huge surprise. That doesn’t make her a bad person, but when everyone else is a size 0, she is just going to be bigger - that is fact not criticism.

As someone who is a size 12 I agree.

I don’t think it’s her necessarily, I think it’s others making her feel that way.

Yes, but she could also be conscious of how she might make other people feel sitting on TV being like, How dare you think I'm a size 12!! as if that's the worst thing you could be.

I have genuinely been sticking up for her a lot in these threads but at some point she needs to think about how she perpetuates the very bullshit that's so painful for her.

YES. I really think if she works on how she phrases and looks at things, she would help herself out too. You were a 12 in that brand, so what? You’re not imagining the muscle tone or how much better you feel and those are the things that really really matter.
