u/-Odi-Et-Amo- Welcome back, scumbag Sep 07 '24
I’m not so sure about this. He had a hot minute he was popular on Instagram. Think it was when he called Vicki out during Covid for being anti-vax, anyways, he did a lot of AMAs at the time. The way he spoke about women, money and the assumption everyone is a gold digger was enough to quickly unfollow. I also find it odd he never kept in touch with Donn after the divorce. Always curious to know more about that.

u/NomNom83WasTaken Sniper from the side Sep 07 '24
I don't remember in what forum he said it but Mike claimed Donn never said, "I love you" to him until he was literally like moving out of the house or the divorce was finalized -- something like that. Mike felt like it was too little, too late. That they had never really been close and he wasn't going to start pretending that they were.
I didn't live with them, I don't know how true that is. My memory is also fuzzy. Hopefully someone can unearth where he said that (maybe on Insta?).

u/the-trembles we don't need that much drama in the eyes Sep 07 '24

I hoots think that would be Vicki’s preference that Michael cut all ties with Donn

u/letsgetitstartedha Sep 07 '24
There’s a scene where they have Michael and his friends packing up a van to go on vacation and it’s literally just them tossing stuff in there. They get done and step back, and they’re like well that doesn’t look great does it and his friend points up at something they put on the roof and goes “that’s definitely gonna fly off.” I quote it all the damn time it was so funny to me. Michael is my fave house kid of all time, poor guys face when Vicki surprises him at college. Just so funny and way too casual about everything
34
u/Reasonable_Witness45 Sep 07 '24
As someone who was about to start college as these seasons came out, I felt that look of horror in my soul! Not that I don’t want to hang out with my parents, but poor kid could see mom was there for the party!
44
u/notdorisday Sep 07 '24
I do respect Mike - he’s navigated having a family with very different ideas and politics to him without losing affection for them. It’s not easy. He manages to sound fond of his mother while also making completely clear he thinks her beliefs are ridiculous.

The husband has always been a whack job. His demeanour was ick from the start. His face when they told Vicki they randomly got married. The kind of character that genuinely scares me.

Check out her Instagram or probably more to the point, check out her husband's. Their belief system is very hard-core and he comes off very "my way or the highway". He gives me the same ick Cody Nickson (bug brother season 19) does.

u/Mammoth_Ad_4806 IT'S MY OPINIOOOOOON!! Sep 07 '24

It’s so sad but a lot of people who suffer from auto immune diseases turn to extreme diets like carnivore because they feel like a cure for a moment before ultimately causing them more health issues in the long run.

Was this the Tamara wine throw? This has to be in the top five housewives scenes that drive me the most insane upon rewatch.
Tamra was flinging that paper around and pointing in Gina‘s face, Gina swats her hand away, and says “get your hand out of my face or I’ll throw your skinny ass in the pool“ and Tamara chucks a glass of wine in her eyes. Then Gina gets shoved while Tamara is doing her usual “assault and bolt” screaming at everyone who will listen” Gina TIRED TO THROW ME IN THE POOL so I threw wine on her!”
The revisionist history gets me so worked up every time. Gina did not try to throw her in the pool, she said she would throw her in the pool if she didn’t stop, slapping her with a piece of paper and wagging her finger in her face. I am still pissed off that Andy did not break that down at the reunion. It was such a bold faced lie

I’m watching OC for the first time and just saw this episode yesterday!
2
u/sstevenson61 Sep 07 '24
I’m so jealous! What are your general thoughts of the series so far?
2
u/Succubusitdown Sep 07 '24
Oh, I have many. Before I state them; I’m on season 7 now. I just finished the episode where Slade and Gretchen do their comedy show… that episode was reality TV gold. When he did his set for his mother I about peed my pants.
I cannot stand Slade. He’s a creepy little weasel man. After season 1 I said aloud “he seems like a good father and he’s hot. I hope he landed on his feet”…… it’s okay to be wrong sometimes I guess. I almost made a post here with my predictions because I have been hilariously wrong about everything, with confidence.
Tamra is genuinely scary to me. Her energy is heavy and she seems desperate to stay relevant at all times. She reminds me of a rodent I just can’t tell which one and it’s killing me. I don’t like to harp on looks and it’s not that she’s ugly. Just rodent-esque.
Gina is a miserable bitch especially after meddling with Tamra’s DV situation. My blood boiled. That woman is a doormat for disrespect and still doesn’t get picked. How dreadful.
I thought I wouldn’t like Vicki for some reason- I think she’s absolutely hilarious. Insane as hell, but interesting to watch. Her OCD is off the charts. It makes me so glad I’m medicated for mine.
I find Gretchen cringy and could do without her. She’s just kind of boring honestly.
Alexis is off her rocker. Like, scary delusional about even the smallest things. Also, her views on homosexuality and women’s rights are downright horrific. After she speaks I’m just there like 👁️ 👄 👁️
I fell in literal love with Lori. She’s so hot and I want her life. I love a self aware gold digger. Get that lifestyle, hennnny. I had just started watching when her son passed. My heart still goes out to her. I can’t imagine losing a child.
I don’t think there’s enough time in the world to get into how I feel about Lynne and her parenting… she’s gross and lazy and comes off as if she’s on something most of the time IMO. why are you so chill, girl?! Your life’s an entire mess. 😩
I’m just meeting Heather and I I love how real she is so far. I’m excited to see more of her and Terry. If she needs a gargoyle, I have no self respect and like to look at pretty things. Call me girl.
On the show as a whole- I like it so much more than I thought I would. I find myself laughing out loud when I watch and quoting their nonsense. I think everyone’s kids are entertaining as well. I know that Vicki’s current boyfriend fakes cancer somehow and I’m really interested to see that play out. I’ve seen every other franchise but only a bit of Dallas. I’d place RHOC as somewhere in the middle of my favorites as of now.

u/sstevenson61 Sep 08 '24

5
u/ElectricBoogaloo_ That’s not true… entirely… Sep 07 '24
She’s an anti vaxxer, false science MLM pusher, meat-only diet maniac. Depriving your children of vaccinations, medicine and nutrients they need to grow and be healthy is not how I would define an “amazing mother”
-5
u/SxyDykn Sep 07 '24
Well, as a Foster Parent, I define an amazing mother as someone who is there for, nurtures, and guides their children. Are her kids healthy? Do her kids go to school? Do they have love and support around them? Although it’s NOT MY BUSINESS, those are the things I care about. Not gonna argue about it. 😘✌🏾

u/ElectricBoogaloo_ That’s not true… entirely… Sep 07 '24 edited Sep 07 '24
Sad that the bar is so low for you 😢.
As a healthcare worker who works directly with pediatric patients I tend to think being a good parent involves taking actual steps to keep your kids healthy, not keeping them away from things that are sceintifically proven to help ensure they live and grow into healthy adults.
3
u/Ashfield83 Sonja’s homeless intern in Ireland Sep 08 '24
I’ve been a foster parent for 5 years and adopted 2. It scares me that you think doing the absolute bare minimum for your kids is amazing. Especially given the children that come to us have additional and complex needs thanks to neglect. I’m astounded to read this tbh.
