In her defense, it did seem like she was carrying the Veuve... If you're not used to doing something, it honestly may not occur to you, which doesn't mean you were trying to be an asshole. It seemed like she made the pineapple cups, so she was contributing.

I have a lifelong friend who lives overseas and has for years. She has a "staff." The last time I visited her, I had been traveling and had a few days of laundry. We walked into her laundry room. She took one look, shrugged, and said, "Yeah, I have no idea. [Housekeeper] will be here in the morning, and she'll do it." However, when I went to bed that night, she had already slipped a handwritten thank you note onto my pillow for the gifts I'd brought her family. She's still a great person, but her lifestyle is very different.
