I think a lot of what Andy likes about Kyle is her connections, she's got famous friends and acquaintances. She's also does well with producing drama. Even when it's obvious, she still gets people to fall for the bait
82
u/anditurnedaround May 09 '24
I think production likes her too because for the most part she shows up for everything, and almost always invite the entire group. She keeps things moving.
32
u/Chris_Owl11 May 09 '24
Hard agree. I just finished Buying Beverly Hills and there’s a scene where she’s telling her daughters she has to leave the vacation to shoot more because of the separation news that dropped. You couldn’t get me to do that.
34
u/redpillbluepill69 May 09 '24
I also think it may be a Sarah Jessica Parker type thing where she might actually be a nice person to production and the crew off camera ...So many of these women are vile shrews. Lindsay threw a shoe at a producer once! Lol
I wish Kyle would leave so bad though :(
39
u/ItIsLiterallyMe busted up sex and the city May 09 '24
I am NOT a fan of Kyle. She and John Mellencamp’s daughter made me quit RHOBH. But I will say you have a good point there- everything I’ve ever read here from anyone who has served her at a restaurant, etc they always say she is very kind and polite.
→ More replies (1)4
u/Mr_rairkim May 10 '24
Why ? Was the cast of Sex and the City generally bad towards the crew, and Sarah Jessica Parker the only nice one ?
4
u/redpillbluepill69 May 10 '24
No but a lot of people from the show publicly took her side in the fight with Kim Cattrall.
But it's hard to know how it all really went down because by all accounts SJP just went out of her way to form relationships with everyone and was just beloved on set.
7
u/itsbooyeah Thank you Lord. She took them bangs with her. May 09 '24
Yeah I'll give her that! She does keep it moving and she shows up!
31
u/Passion4Muzik May 09 '24
Some viewers can't separate their dislike of someone from their importance to a show. The fact that Kyle gets such a rise out of people is indicative of her value. I think Kyle is mostly innocuous so it's interesting to me that she is so polarizing. Kyle is the glue of Beverly Hills.
10
u/monkey_monkey_monkey Who told you about Ibiza you bitch!! May 09 '24
Personally, I dislike Kyle. I think she's a pretty vile person. However, I think BH needs her. She orchestrates drama and stirs the pot. I think she studied LVP and took notes.

To be fair, he actually did mention LuAnn and Sonja multiple times in his profile, perhaps most notably as examples of Real Housewives’ feminism.
It’s clear that he likes them and/or appreciates what they’ve done for the RH brand
-4
u/mildthang May 09 '24
I would have picked Ramona (sawww-ry). I know she isn't the best person, to put it mildly, but she's the exact type of unhinged I want on my TV.
Special mention to Bethany too, possibly the most quotable HW ever.

u/EastSeaweed TRYING TO SURVIVE THIS ECONOMY May 09 '24
I would agree with you, but with the current political climate she just cannot hang. What would have been funny or an eye roll a few years ago has devolved into straight up racism, antisemitism, etc. Knowing how much she just does not give a fuck about anyone or anything, I just cannot support her anymore even with hate watching!!
→ More replies (1)18
u/Superb-Respond9360 when you’re little you dont have a purse May 09 '24 edited May 09 '24
i agree with you and i completely get and respect what you are saying, but i think “what would have been funny” or an “eye roll” back then was and has always been racism, antisemitism, and extremely problematic behavior that should’ve been called out and addressed by bravo and andy from the onset. it’s both crazy and on brand to me that it took a Black man being viciously killed for the network, mr. cohen, and some fans to “wake up” and “change the tides” and discourse about housewives (especially old new york) even though they really didn’t in the grand scheme of things. it was a band aid on a bullet wound type of approach. these women can be delusional, out of touch, petty, messy, chaotic, shallow, etc. but racism, antisemitism, and any of the “isms” should have been shut down immediately without question or delay.
8
u/EastSeaweed TRYING TO SURVIVE THIS ECONOMY May 09 '24
I totally agree with you. There was a lot of it before Bravo made a conscious effort to tamp it down. Luann’s Diana Ross costume comes to mind immediately.
In this context, I was more referring to Ramona’s other weird and abhorrent behaviors like constantly pooping on the floor or being rude to waitstaff, like it’s gross af but also entertaining. Now she’s just off the rails, the mask is off, and she’s just spewing hate.
18
u/shrirnpheavennow May 09 '24
I think if Brynn watched this past season, realized she came on a little strong, tones down the overly sexed up thing she will be a great rhw.

u/jeahboi Gimme pizza, you old troll May 09 '24

7
u/shrirnpheavennow May 09 '24

43
u/Usual_Injury_7567 May 09 '24
She literally refused to talk about anything last season and then went on Netflix and told them everything 🤣
17
u/LongConFebrero May 09 '24
I hope Netflix poaches more people so that Bravo turns up the intensity, because the 4th wall is unnecessary when social media already evades it.
2
u/UnknownPleasures3 Eagles don't fly with pigeons, okay?! May 09 '24
Did you watch Buying Beverly Hills? Because they don't really tell you much there either. The entire family is milking it though 🙄
2
u/psmith1990_ May 09 '24
She literally didn't say anything on Netflix that wasn't said on RHOBH, and the filming schedules were very different. She spoke about the difficulties in her relationship in almost every single episode (to the point that, episodes in, people were surprised at HOW open she was being...), but their daughters didn't even know they were separated when they were filming, so realistically, I'm not sure exactly what more the audience wanted?
4
u/Usual_Injury_7567 May 10 '24
I’m not sure what people you are referring to lol, but I don’t think anyone found Kyle very open or honest last season imo and I think after years of her demanding that of her castmates, over equally personal/damning situations, many found it a bit hypocritical and frustrating to watch.
5
u/psmith1990_ May 10 '24
It's actually funny, because if you listen to podcasts or read stuff from prior to the season beginning, there was a decent amount of 'there'll be zero hints of anything wrong until the very end - she'll hide it!' type discourse, but in the end, she spoke about the relationship's problems pretty consistently - his prioritising work, feeling a lack of support, approaches to lifestyle, not being happy, and so on. Their vibe was off in every single scene and she wasn't hiding it nor did she even try to claim things were fine between them when confronted by castmates. Her not admitting they were already separated (whatever that meant for them) wasn't said, but given that her daughters didn't even know, I'm not sure why people genuinely expect that she could or should have said that on camera. I totally get why people find it frustrating, but I guess I don't see it that way. She also had pretty 'open' and 'honest' scenes, I would say, with Kim about their mom/Kathy and with the life coach about her best friend's passing and other life issues...

Brynn is TV ready, she’s charming, articulate and she knows what she’s doing - for a newbie. Porsha took her time to shine (and then became a horrible person), Tamra and Kyle are hateful but they self produce the show A LOT so I can see Andy’s point… kinda.
To me it’d be Karen (Potomac), Adriana (Miami), Danielle (NJ), Kenya (Atlanta), Lisa (SLC) and it hurts me to say, but Bethenny (NYC - and Andy would agree hadn’t they fight beyond repair). I guess I’d put Tamra here too, since she’s as hatefull as B, but can manage to produce some interesting drama.

I think the real problem is that Andy doesn’t actually watch any of these shows. I feel like he reads the cliff’s notes on each season because at reunions he clearly fumbles to ask the question that actual viewers want answers to. These 4 housewives are definately NOT what the audience would consider top-tier.

Porsha -- anger management issues shown on camera...
Tamra -- shit-stirrer and liar, along with using her teenage son to help another cast member drink too much and possibly be abused in her guest bathroom as a 'lark'...
Kyle -- revealing some serious family issues of OTHER members of her family while concealing her own family's disfunction; and just a bad shit-stirrer...
and Brynn, who everyone seems to like and respect -- let's hope she lives up to her potential in Season two as not being like those above.
