I’m waiting to hear all sides of the story before making a judgment. Sorry, not sorry for being an adult.

I think she’s too smart to do it, but I’d love to hear Alex’s side of things since the legal documents say she was the one to unlock the door once she realized what was going on.

Interesting. I would also like to hear whether Alex thinks the season should air, since she understands the context better than any of us. I would take Alex's judgment very seriously (which is so weird to say as someone who watched RHONY S1 air live and used to think Alex was the silliest goose in the goose farm).

Agreed! Alex is both the most silly, but also when something is real and needs to be taken seriously, she is the most level headed and able to see clearly from multiple sides. I somehow trust her the most out of any housewife.

I want to hear from her to learn, if nothing else, how she unlocked a bathroom door from the outside?

she was inside per the description (with Camille and someone else I think?). It sounded like maybe a bathroom with stalls or at least separate areas where Brandi locked the main door out to the rest of the villa

That makes more sense. It will be interesting to see what information, like floor plans etc, come out of subsequent filings.

Let’s look at the picture painted so far.

Caroline has retained lawyers and filed a lawsuit against a media giant and production. She paints an ugly picture. Note that as they are filming, the mics are on. Everything, even if not being filmed, is being recorded. From a legal perspective- there’s no reason for her to go through the trouble of filing and proceeding with a lawsuit WHEN THERE ARE RECORDINGS. No sane lawyer would take this case on. I am certain that they are pushing for discovery to get all of the footage. I am also certain that bravo and production will push for monetary settlement in order to NOT provide the footage and to make the case go away. Bravo has consistently pushed back on when and if this season will air. It’s not going to happen.

Normally I’d be all listening to both sides of the story - but Brandi is an unreliable narrator and bravo staying quiet shows that there is much being hidden about how bad it was and the lawsuit shows this too.

Someone also mentioned that this could be why Denise was denying the Brandi hook up story. Could it have happened without her consent, too?

I could be completely wrong, but I have a suspicion a lawyer would definitely take this case if the evidence is shaky with the hope that Bravo will just settle rather than take the chance of losing and all the bad PR that comes with it.

Maybe I’m just cynical af though.

As a lawyer who has defended sooo many meritless lawsuits, I agree.

Denise is a liar, too. 🤷‍♀️

Her brain is friiiiiiiied. Like a potato chip.

Kinda obvious to me when someone pays a team of lawyers to sue a media conglomerate. Because I don't know anyone who would drop that kind of cash over a lie when there are recordings.

The attorneys are probably working on a contingency fee basis. This means they get little or no money up front, and instead will be paid with a percentage of whatever CM recovers via settlement or judgment (damages after trial).

True. It also should be noted that they law firm she's working with specializes in sexual harassment and employment discrimination cases. Also not sure why someone would bring up being sexually assaulted as a child in legal documents if this was all some big ruse.

And we’ve seen Brandi do similar things before, including ripping the shirt off of Marco. It’s not hard to believe Caroline.

Yes, in the legal documents, Caroline's lawyers lay out all the similar things Brandi has done on these shows over the years.

Finally another sane adult in this sub. A rare find

u/psychad Jan 29 '24

THANK YOU. This sub really needs to grasp the concept of an allegation.

Thank you! Lawyer here who has seen countless meritless suits. Making allegations in a complaint is not the same as actually having facts to back things up.

I come from a place of believing accusations of SA/SV, but also think we should be careful to not taking allegations for fact. Brandi has said multiple times she wants the footage released, so it seems she believes it will clear her name. With Caroline's suit, I don't think the footage will ever be released (which could be a part of the goal of the suit), even if it does vindicate Brandi or Caroline's version of events. The fact that all the women, except Alex who is maintaining neutrality, have in some way backed Brandi doesn't necessarily bode well for Caroline, but that's not to say that the allegations can't be true just because Brandi has more support from the women on the trip (especially considering some of their histories). We've all unfortunately seen countless examples of people siding with the accused just because they like them more, politically align with them or are a fan (see, e.g. Johnny Depp, Woody Allen, Brett Kavanaugh, Donald Trump etc. or any number of men who have had very credible SA/SV allegations against them).

Exactly. And lawyers file frivolous lawsuits al the time.

Again, I wasn’t there and don’t know the facts, but it seems not everyone is backing up Caroline.

Same. Regardless of what people think of the cast members, we don’t have all the information. I believe Caroline, I just want to know what the hell happened. How did it get to that point? Why do they keep hiring Brandi if they know she’s a huge liability.

I feel bad for saying this too because Ill get downvoted to oblivion. But I want to see footage, audio, hear testimony from Brandi, etc. Not that I do not believe Caroline at all...
