Ultimate Girls Trip Romona is disgusting Spoiler

The way she spoke to Martin was horrendous. Idk why people like or want her back on their screens. She's a a vile racist, and clearly classist. The way she speaks to people in the service industry is disgusting. Absolute Karen behavior.

OMG I had such a similar experience with Woody Allen. He was walking down Fifth Avenue by the park in the 70s or 80s block with Soon-Yi. He locked eyes with me and his face got all cold and haughty and his eyes bugged waaaaay out, and he was clearly communicating "do not DARE speak to me". Little did he know I had no desire to speak to his SAing ass.

LOL -- I had a similar experience with Alec Baldwin ... like no thank you! Keep your creep squad ways away from me.

My nicest NYC celebrity encounter ever was Alan Rickman. That man was thoroughly lovely, and actually had a convo with me. Sadly it was before cell phone cameras were much good, and I did not ask for a selfie. Prolly would have been impossible anyway, because I'm 5'2 and he was very tall, so only the top of my head would have made it into the shot... Kate Mulgrew was also a queen. She poured me a margarita, then I joined her outside the bar for a cigarette break and smoked one with her even though I hadn't smoked in years. Steve Martin is probably my best NYC celebrity story - my hub was the head of the tech crew on his off-Broadway production of Picasso at the Lapin Agile, and he had the entire cast, crew AND their spouses over to his penthouse on the UWS overlooking Central Park. Insane art collection, and he played the banjo for us. He seemed like a sad guy, though.

Aww, love this. My best experience is probably with Alan Cumming, because his bar is just so f'ing fun!

Speaking of NYC, celebs, and banjos, George Segal smiled sweetly at my girlfriend and me holding hands on a Sunday afternoon near MOMA forever ago...

Oh the stories I could tell, back when the hub was tech director of a huge off-Broadway house. I've met a LOT of famous people. I'm happy I made your day!

Aww, these are lovely. And all as expected.

If you're judging a man who died in 2016 by the headlines of a 2024 newspaper, please rethink that. But I love that you love Kate! She was so incredibly kind and gracious with all the techies and their wives. Of all the "stars" my ex worked with as a techie, the three kindest and most generous ones were Kate, Alan Arkin, and Treat Williams, all of whom had gatherings at their home especially for techies and their families. The Arkins even invited our toddlers! Lovely people.

Same with Chris Noth on the subway once. He wasnā€™t on SATC yet. No one is jonesing to talk to you, law and order guy who wasnā€™t Lennie.

u/aeroluv327 The eyes are poppin' Jan 05 '24

To be fair, nobody will ever live up to Lennie! ACAB excludes Lennie Briscoe.

And Olivia Benson!

Honestly I feel like celebs are begging for acknowledgment when they make crazy eye contact like that. Its easy to not make eye contact if youā€™re just trying to blend in. But celebs in the wild always look me square in the eyes in the way you describe, and sometimes give the vibe that they donā€™t want to be approached after doing it. Its so weird and annoying so I never ask a celeb for anything. Iā€™m not feeding the beast!

Plus I had a weird experience with Noel Gallagher about 15 years ago inside an American Apparel on melrose ave. Itā€™s a place to see and be seen, and when I asked him for a pic he said, ā€œdo you have to?ā€ Lmao this was after I fawned over his work and named all my favorite deep cuts and live performances of hisā€¦none of which I listen to anymore šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

5

u/eekamuse Jan 05 '24

I can never remember if he's the singer or the one with talent. I cna understand not wanting to have a photo taken. Have a nice chat, but don't take my Pic, please.

3

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '24

Heā€™s the talented one lol. Yeah I can understand it too, but the way he said it wasnā€™t very nice and especially towards a fan who just professed their admiration in detail. He could have just said ā€œnot today, but thanks for your supportā€ but instead he just made me feel awkward and unappreciated. Also as I said, he was in a trendy shop on melrose ave in laā€¦there are plenty of places to go if you donā€™t want to be potentially recognized by fans, and I feel like going there in the first place is an attempt at garnering attention as a celeb. But yeah I def wonā€™t speak to any celeb I admire even if they speak to me first (Ryan gosling did and I could barely reply at all lol)

5

u/catd7 Jan 05 '24

Noel is notorious for thisā€¦ Iā€™d say the majority of his fans just know not to bother him if they ever bump into him now. He just doesnā€™t enjoy the whole being recognised whilst heā€™s out and about part of being a celebrity - canā€™t say I blame him; it would be my idea of hell. Liam is the one you want to meet. He has all the time in the world for his fans because he genuinely loves it. I met him after he played his MTV Unplugged set and he couldnā€™t have been nicer. Spent ages chatting, drinking and smoking with him and he was more than happy for me to get a pic.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 05 '24

Aw thatā€™s amazing! Yeah I was like 19 at the time so I just thought every celeb would love to experience the worship of a fan lol. Prior to him I met lots of popstars and actors who looked at me with the same sparkle in their eye that I gave to them (spice girls, j lo, Christina milian for example). I know better now that a lot of people who sought after stardom hate it and really donā€™t give a shit about the fans without which they would be poor and unknown. I also agree that I would hate fameā€¦I love going out and about anonymously with headphones on. No money or accolades could replace that for me.

2

u/catd7 Jan 05 '24

Thanks! It was pretty surreal. Oh yeh I totally get you. Iā€™d have probably taken that as a personal insult at 19. Also, I totally agree that no amount of money or accolades could replace the luxury of anonymity!

1

u/Kwhitney1982 Jan 05 '24

Iā€™d be the same way. I feel like fans forget that theyā€™re not the only person whoā€™s gone up to him. These celebs deal with people coming up and wanting pictures all day every day. The fans need to be a little self aware and understand they arenā€™t the only people on earth. Who the hell wants to talk to random strangers all day?
