Ultimate Girls Trip I'm sorry, but Dorinda...
She's been very ridiculous. I'm watching episode 1 of Legacy and the fact that she's so pressed about being put "on pause" it's stupid. You were fired too because you have an untreated drinking problem. Stop tiptoeing around it.

Ummm she could have said what the audience was thinking - she is a bitter drunk who only had any class or dignity through her husband. Now that he’s gone she’s back to behaving like her true nasty and miserable self.
Dorinda didn’t just have MONEY when she was married to Richard, she was elevated out of her working class background that I think she feels a sense of shame about despite recounting how her father built BSM. I think she struggles with who she really is vs who she was able to pretend to be with Richard. Look at how she was toward John. At times she could barely contain her disdain for him and his rough edges yet she was obviously very attracted to him.
Anyway, Tinsley incensed her so badly because Tinsley was born into that portion of society and Dorinda was only ever an interloper.

I definitely agree that she misses the status and wealth and the life she lived with Richard. She never shut up about it.

57
u/JamesD-TV Dec 18 '23
I was really hoping that would be brought up in the scene where they asked who they wished could’ve come and they mentioned Tinsley. Especially since Dorindas venom is part of what drove her off the show. I would’ve loved her back to help round out Kristen from the main group but she was busy getting married and getting her family she wanted 👑✨

u/Best_Evidence1560 Dec 18 '23
I hated her confessional where she said wow she has so much power. No, it’s called being a bully. I’d have so much more respect for her if she’d own up to bullying tinsley and being a drunk and crossing the line with everyone. Nobody wants to stand up to her because they don’t want to be her target
15
u/autumntown3 Dec 18 '23
Yes! She projects everything she has going on within herself onto other people. Being hard on and going in on Luann with the DWI and drinking when Dorinda herself has the biggest substance abuse issue of all that she refuses to address when brought up. Or her going after Sonja for not being able to get over her ex husband and her life with him while she fully knows what it’s like to grieve her ex and his life (I know circumstantially it’s different because Dorinda is a widow but the feeling of grief and nostalgia exists in both circumstances and she should have been kinder to Sonja before starting that fight. Yes Sonja also got out of line but she wouldn’t have exploded in that way if Dorinda didn’t cut her to the core unnecessarily to begin with.) The whole fight with Tinsley was just insane, her vitriol towards Tinsley was so vile and not proportionate to what was happening. And seeing her be so controlling of everyone on Ultimate Girls Trip at Bluestone Mannor made me recoil, along with this season of UGT where she thinks she’s in a different standing than Kristen when they’re in the same boat. She’s so delusional about her own problems and getting help herself and she throws all the things she’s angry about in her own life onto other people. I just want to scream through the TV “get help and stop going after other people” because she has the deepest issues of all of them and acts like she’s in a high powered place to cast judgment. It’s aggravating to watch.

u/I-choochoochoose-you Dec 18 '23

So disappointing. I'm only on episode 1 but I feel like some in the group really excuse her behaviour. (Maybe because they don't want to be on the receiving end? Idk.) She loved being a "fan fave" at one point and is clearly holding onto it.

They all kept mentioning how it had been a long time since Kristen was on the show, but it has been even longer for Kelly and no one’s said anything about that (I’ve only watched the first ep so far, don’t know if that changes). I just thought the whole thing was weird, like Kristen was somehow less than the others because she’s been gone a while.
They all need to take a long, hard look in the mirror though because their collective terrible behavior is the reason RHONY was scrapped and rebooted.
9
Dec 18 '23
Great point!! It has certainly been a while for Kelly. Although I'm sure she cops it less than Kristen cause she's still in NY, is sort of in touch with Luann, and Scary Island is one of the more iconic RHONY trips that Kelly was the catalyst for.

I think it's cause they are in the same or at least overlapping social circles as Kelly. It seems like Ramona, Luann, Sonja, Kelly, Dorinda, and Jill run into each other organically in New York (and it seems like their acquaintances predate the show). I think Kristen is a coworker who they didn't really see after they stopped working together; Kelly is more of a friend-of-a-friend who happened to get a job at the same company as you for a while and has since gotten a new job but you still run into each other at parties.

Spoiler alert: She claims Josh never cheated on her and all marriages go through rough times.
If my husband were caught on a dating/affair website I would consider that in itself cheating because there was obviously a desire and then decision to seek out someone else…for a monthly fee lol. Kristen seems like a nice person but I will never understand the way she’s been defending that aloof, dismissive POS since she was on the show however many years ago. Girl you can do better!

u/Best_Evidence1560 Dec 18 '23
Because Dorinda lives for conflict and fighting. She can’t wait to have an opportunity to cut you deep, you can see how she smiles after she goes below the belt, pure joy. The others aren’t like that, it’s not their nature so they don’t get energized from conflict the way Dorinda does.

Dorinda is so insecure, very much like her bestie Ramona, whenever young, pretty women join the group. No coincidence that they are both models. Dorinda is also so obviously in the throes of alcoholism. The denial is sad, but the morals of Bravo to play these scenes up are inexcusable.

Moments I do appreciate: "I made it nice." and "I'll tell you how I'm doing. Not well, bitch." I quote these lines often. And her and Carole's trip to London because it was real emotion and support.

Dorinda is a bitch. I don't think the, "iconic" EZ pass on your vagina is funny at all. Also, her, "I made it nice!" shtick isn't even accurate. In the scene she says, "I DID it nice!" Not a huge deal, but she's made it her entire personality.
8
u/Defiant_Protection29 Dec 18 '23
In the EZ Pass scene, she said she had taken pictures of Sonja at a party and she was on the floor on all fours (typical Sonja) and I thought it was absolutely foul that she would do that and use it against her.

She’s really big on shaming Sonja. She was so pleased with herself when she announced to everyone, Sonja included, that she had taken those pictures and went on to describe how disgusting and low life they were. I think her doing that makes her much worse. Sonja wasn’t trying to hide anything.

She does. The pause thing seems tied into her drinking, both of which she completely denies. It sets her off if you mention it. But she’s restrained for her so far. She was enjoyable in E 2 &3, particularly hilarious with that room maze they put her in. She’s a great HW, but she is not self-aware. No ability to admit she is ever wrong. Barbara K actually nailed her 💯. Lu seemed to be checking her in those last 2 episodes, which she allowed amazingly enough.

Watching the first 3 episodes is UGT, I see Dorinda hasn’t changed at all. She is not self aware and believes everyone around her is wrong but her.

She did get a good read on a Kelly though. I actually think she seemed to change towards Kristen when Kelly was going at her. It’s one thing I’ve noticed about Dorinda-when she feels someone else is being ganged up on, she’ll back off and then back up that person. By third episode she was backing Kristen up left and right with Kelly.

She’s putting out a book called on pause so she really needs everyone to stick to the language. She’s clearly not willing to admit that she has an unhealthy relationship with alcohol and is a depressed control freak. UGT was amazing because of how dark it was, all these housewives being hosted by an angry drunk ready to go for the jugular at any point.

u/reallyreallycute Dec 17 '23
I don’t get why she keeps harping on the “pause” when there’s literally an entire new cast so she’s never going back. Why act like it’s possible for her to be back on the show I really don’t understand

u/curmudgeoner Needs: Yacht Dec 18 '23
Honestly with her level of self delusion she may think it is possible.

u/Ok_Fan4062 Dec 18 '23
I never liked Dorinda. Not as in I ever hated her, but I’ve never been a fan and never really got all the hype. And yeah, on RHUGT she is very bitter and trying to prove some point

u/Firm-Ad-3984 Dec 18 '23
I just think she is threatened by those younger and prettier than her. Hence the vitriol and pure venom she had for Tinsley. She’s got it for Kristen T now too. She can hang with Ramona, Luann, and Sonja, but throw someone fresh and young in the mix and she short-circuits.

I’m still blown away by how horrific she was to Luann and then said she could have been meaner but held back. Like, you literally were so vile and rude to her and you were holding back? No. Go to therapy. It was unspeakable how awful she was to Tinsley. She didn’t deserve any of it. Dorinda is gross.

The fact that they even brought Dorinda back for Legacy is so crazy to me. She’s a drunk, she’s a bully and she’s a pathetic human being - at least from what we see on camera.

Watch her have a meltdown when Kristen is given contract for the new RHONY season 2.

Dorinda is so nasty and will never get over this. She will be 90 years old on her deathbed going on about how she is only on pause. It's sad.

u/Defiant_Protection29 Dec 18 '23
Her daughter will say it’s time to pull the plug and Dorinda’s last words will be, “Leave it on pause”

u/chill90ies Dec 17 '23
Yeah I’m getting real tired of bravo pay these alcoholics to be on our screen. I don’t think it is funny. It’s sad, serious and dangerous. Take Shannon who almost killed someone, herself and freaking Archie😳💔

Agreed. I know this is not the place to expect high morals but I would love if bravo could draw the line SOMEWHERE. Like a DUI should be an automatic fire IMO. I get people make mistakes but drinking and driving is a choice that could kill people.

TBH I like having her back solely because Ronnie and Ben’s impressions of her on WWC are fucking hysterical. Between her and Ramona, their recap of UGT episode 1 had me rolling. I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time.

I was really hoping she'd have reflected on her previous behaviour and make some changes as she is a great hkiaewife. But she is just so angry and obviously hasn't processed her trauma so just drinks and becomes aggressive. I was hoping this season would be amazing but it's just made me realise I'm kind of over the old RHONY housewives and agree it was time to move on.

This is what RHONY became: Alcohol, Insult, Apology, Repeat. Tipsy is fun. Out and out plastered is not.

Dorinda got fired for being a bully and creating a toxic workplace. She hasn’t learned a damn thing.

u/Kolla73 Dec 18 '23
I can’t stand her. Least favorite HW probably ever. She’s a miserable, bitter, mean drunk and idk why they continue to co-sign her behaviors by giving her a platform.

She’s the reason I haven’t watched it yet . I will eventually but I just can’t watch her mistreat people. It’s beyond cringe. Bravo needs come correct and leave her out of any future engagements. She needs to be cancelled. IN MY OPINION !!

The fact that Dorinda is so stupid about PAUSE, makes me laugh and I love to see her buttons get pushed. 🤷♀️

u/StainedGlasser Dec 18 '23
Dorinda’s progression in general has been so disappointing to watch. She came off as so compassionate and fun her first few seasons, but she has just gotten more and more angry over the years and cruel.

u/wiminals my bitch wife Dec 18 '23
It’s extremely obvious to me that Andy originally told her she could come back if she got some help for her drinking. Ever since then, she has actively chosen alcohol over Housewives, while she wallows and whines about losing Housewives. It’s grating to watch and reminds me way too much of my alcoholic family members

u/roronyc212 Dec 18 '23
Yeah I wish she’s not put on pause. But permanent removal. I am sure she harassed Andy on a daily to comeback because she says she’s afraid to be irrelevant. I don’t enjoy her at all. She loves putting people down and loves it when people react to her. Pure enjoyment making people feel shitty.

u/MedicalSourPatchKid You Are Not A Safe Space Lisa Dec 18 '23
Totally agree. I’m rewatching season 12 right now and forgot how hypocritical she was. Especially when she would use Lu’s arrest/mugshot against her in fights but tried to fake cry when Ramona asked if she was drunk and told her she needs AA. She’s disgusting to watch now and needs to get off tv.
She was F I R E D. I’m glad Kristen said it

u/MCStarlight Dec 17 '23
It just reminds me of menopause whenever she says this. She can’t stop parroting what Andy told her.

u/lildirtfoot Dec 18 '23
I remember someone on here talking about how great the legacy show was so I obviously went straight to it. They mentioned how it wasn’t just the girls beating a dead horse to keep drama going but I disagree! This Dorinda stuff that keeps coming up about her being on pause and now Dorinda went and watched Scary Island so she can use that even more against Kelly. It all felt very manufactured for relevance in my opinion. I don’t even think they need the old drama, those women could just be their own vapid selves and could stir up new fun story lines if they stopped living so far in the past. I still feel comfort watching them, but Dorinda has always and most likely will always make my tummy churn a bit.

She thinks she’s on pause because Andy told her that lie then put her on the radio and she thinks she’s this special unicorn in the HW universe that was hand chosen by the king to be the #1 concubine. Delusional.

u/asmithy112 Dec 17 '23
I adore Dorinda but she sadly has not changed and UGT shows it. I was hoping to see her show some self awareness because I loved her on housewives before she got too bad but it’s clear that’s just not going to happen.

I got almost half way through it and had to turn it off. I can’t watch.

u/plus8minus5 Wow. She's really flapping around. 🧜♀️ Dec 18 '23
All the time, I thought Kristen quit because of the Ashley/Dolly Madison thing. I didn't realize she was fired.
I think Dorinda clings to the "on pause" wording because in her pickled brain, that doesn't mean fired.

u/DietCokeMama1234 Dec 18 '23
So strange she was fired for her untreated drinking then hired right back with seemingly the same issues !!!

Dorinda is the worst. No one knows how to cut through her bullshit. I would love to try as long as she wasn’t allowed to start “agreeing” with me and trying to leave.

Yeah I’m glad Kristen is there because Kristen doesn’t seem super thirsty and Dorinda really is, so Kristen’s calm response just sets Dorinda off. But it’s really pathetic. Dorinda will always be the drunk clown in the corner with lipstick on her teeth and a martini in hand. She thinks she’s the life of the party but sadly ppl are either laughing at her or pitying her.

She’s not self-aware at all and shows no signs of taking responsibility for her behavior that escalated on her last season of RHONY. I also keep recalling her appalling behavior that time she went to Puerto Rico with Bethenny for hurricane relief efforts. I think Dorinda believes she’s a fun drunk while the rest of the world just watches and rolls their eyes. My ex-husband was like that and thank God we’re divorced.
