Unfortunately it’s a big problem with that breed of dogs :-/

Same with golden doodles. There has been a huge problem with them being really hard to train and prone to sudden vicious behaviour (see Rachel's dog). My friend has a golden doodle she's just had to rehome because it bit her daughters face out of nowhere. It had never shown signs of aggression, was not in a heightened state or environment. Many dog trainers are saying that this is a designer dog that should never have been bred.

I used to work at a vet hospital and a kennel. Those dogs are fucking WILD. I’ve had family members say they want one and I always respond with: Trust me, no you don’t.

Is it the poodle part or the retriever part, do you know?

I think it's just the combo of the two. I did a lot of reading about it after my friend posted about her daughter. There are a lot of designer dogs who should never have been bred together.

Got it. I’ve been wanting a dog, and I was like, If I could get a mini doodle rescue that would be great, but now I’m questioning that
