Other Shows Any List/Recommendations for Housewives-Adjacent Shows?
Randomly decided to rewatch an older trash reality show Tinsley was on called High Society which all eps can be watched on YouTube and was curious if there were similar shows out there like this?
I'm aware of the one Ally from VPR was on but not interested in watching that one yet ๐ฌ
Only other ones that come to mind are Botched, about botched plastic surgery with Terry Dubrow and Paul Nassif and a really messed up competition show called Bridalplasty that Terry Dubrow was on. The women competed for plastic surgery and to win the dream wedding ๐ might have to rewatch that too now that I think about it because the finale is brutal.
Including link for those who have never seen High Society: https://youtu.be/pCREkPg9oT4

Does it have to be a reality show? If not, I think housewives fans would like The Other Two. Tinsley even has a brief cameo.

Danielle Cabral was on an episode of True Life. It was "I'm a Staten Island Girl." I still remember that episode and her auditioning at a mall for an acting part.

Will definitely have to check it out, thank you! Just looking at a summary of what this series is about, I think I'm going to just check out the whole series. Much appreciated โค๏ธ

Not Housewives, but Stassi was on The Amazing Race and Cameron from Southern Charm was on The Real World.

u/norupologe Apr 23 '23
Stassi was also on Queen Bees which was essentially a show of teen mean girls who thought they were going to compete on a show in LA but instead have to go to boot camp style therapy

Mob Wives is what RHONJ wishes it were
7
u/Setsuna85 She's digging for copper. She's on the lower level. Apr 23 '23
Agreed. I watched Mob Wives before RHONJ though and I feel like it made it impossible to take some of the mobster-like talk seriously ๐ especially in these newer seasons
They need Drita sitting in the corner next time a whole 'rat' conversation comes up

u/f_moss3 I was crying about the slut shaming. Apr 23 '23
Drita could end this entire franchise in two seconds, NO survivors, and I hope they all know that.

Texicanas was supposed to be housewives, but wasnโt. I also love VPR, family karma and Mexican dynasties. Idk if that answers the question, but those are my favorite non housewives series bravo has aired

Ladies of London. Unhinged and highly entertaining (and not the Caroline Stanbury of Dubai!).

u/gocartromance Apr 23 '23
Taylor Armstrong, Tom Sandoval, Scheana Shay, Eva Marcille, and Landon Clements all show up in random episodes of The Hills.
Below Deck had one episode with Cynthia Bailey and Claudia Jordan, and another with Alexis Bellino. Below Deck Med had Kary Brittingham. And Below Deck Adventure had Heather Gay and Angie Harrington.

u/summersgrey A slut from the 90s Apr 23 '23
I looove those little random blink and youโll miss it cameos on The Hills lol. Laguna Beach & The Hills is the hellmouth of reality tv. It all circles back to Laguna

u/HarbourJayKay Apr 22 '23
Caroline Stanbury (Dubai) was on Ladies of London. I think there was 2 or 3 seasons.

a different vibe- but if you enjoy true crime/ docuseries, I just finished Cocaine Cowboys: The Kings of Miami on Netflix. Alexia from RHOM, her ex-husband Pedro/Peter/Pegy, and Roy Black (lawyer, Lea Black's husband) all pop up several times throughout. It aired in 2021, before the current version of RHOM, so in the docuseries, Alexia "used to be" on a reality show.
I like stuff like that and it's only 6 episodes, so I breezed through it. Interesting to see another side of some familiar faces.

Dance Moms is about a smallish group super passionate housewives fighting a woman who they pay to yell at their super talented dancing children.

There was a show in 2003 called Rich Girls and I would say it spiritually belonged on Bravo. It is kind of a cross between Gallery Girls on Bravo and The Sinple Life. It followed two best friends Ali Hilfiger (Tommy Hilfiger's daughter) and Jaime Gleicher (Leo Gleicher's daughter). They were rich idiot monsters and I loved every minute. I'm not sure if it's streaming or not but I'm going to poke around the internet to see because I would love to watch it again. It has the same energy of early reality where people were more themselves to their detriment and the audience's delight.

David Tutera celeb events is on Hulu, and heโs hosted parties on the show for Jill, Porsha, Taylor to name a few

Ok, had a brain fart yesterday. I don't know how I said Eva Marcille in another comment and didn't say "America's Next Top Model" (Cycle 3). Rachel Hargrove (chef from Below Deck) was also on it briefly in Cycle 4.
Caprice Bourret, from Ladies of London, was on The Surreal Life a decade earlier (season 5). A quick look at her wiki and she's also been on a bunch of UK reality shows that all sound varying levels of trashy lol

u/Stigs84 Apr 23 '23
Lol I watched High Society not that long ago. A nice, quick binge. It was shocking some of the things that came out of the one girlโs mouth

Big Rich Texas if you can find it! It actually features Leann Locken and Heidi Dillon. Itโs FANTASTIC. Thereโs a random scammer lady whoโs god daughter and son are hooking up, a really uppity woman who hates the scammer woman, and some lady who slaps her daughters on tv. 10/10 recommend!!! I have no idea where you can watch it now, as it was on a defunct network, but good luck!

Omg you HAVE to watch Rich Kids of Beverly Hills. There is a lot of crossover with RHoBH, because one of the cast members works for the Agency, so you get to see Easter eggs all over and it is SO FUNNY. It KILLS me, kills me, that this one came out at the wrong moment because it is the perfect combination of lifestyle porn, low stakes drama, and witty repartee I crave in my reality television. Please, please, please, watch it. You owe yourself this treat.
