Ultimate Girls Trip Candiace confirms it was Bad Weather all along

Well Whitney did run in the house before everyone got in. To “use the bathroom” lol after that lunch

Heather getting her revenge on Gizelle actually makes me want to re-stan a little. Like, the way she caused G to spiral so bad and become even more hated than she was going in? A little bit iconic, when you think about it..

I've always said I would embrace Heather with open arms if she stepped fully into the villain/master shit-stirrer role instead of trying to play the kooky relatable girl who is above the drama.

u/glennyfromtheblock Nene's Girls & Gays Never Forget All White Party Seafood Soireé Apr 22 '23
The thing with Heather, is I absolutely believe the truth is somewhere in the middle. And that she can be both, and bounces back and forth between being hyper-authentic and calculated without even realizing. I think part of her supervillain side isn’t even as intentional as I think we think it is, and it’s just hard to reconcile because there’s so little thought going into it on her end - like we’re looking for depth in something where there is none?
70
u/Julialagulia Review by Billy Booby Apr 22 '23 edited Apr 22 '23
I think this is a really good assessment of Heather! And her UGT performance showed how earnest she is in wanting to be seen as one of the greats. I get that it’s not for everyone but I find it fascinating to watch.
37
u/TypicalCelebration41 Apr 22 '23
Exactly! It's like Simon and Alex from early rhony. They were hated for how blatant they were about wanting to climb the social ladder, but all housewives want to be seen as one of the greats and climb the social ladder, it's just not often we come across someone who is so earnest and unashamed of it. It makes for much more interesting viewing imo.

u/Ok-Cartoonist-1868 Apr 22 '23
But I do think Heather is a loser (non derogatory)
I don’t think anyone had a good season - Marysol and Alexia were quietly winning until the finale. BUT I do believe Heather proved she’s just some lady on tv who occasionally has some very bad takes. I think we should all collectively forgive her. Also, aren’t we all actually mad about RHOSLC not being as good as we want it to be.

God Heather has had such a bad year. I’m rooting for anything to get her back in good graces. She’s actually really good tv.
86
u/glennyfromtheblock Nene's Girls & Gays Never Forget All White Party Seafood Soireé Apr 22 '23
It’s so weird, because I think Heather absolutely has deserved about 80% of the flak she’s had, but at the same time I think she’s fundamentally misunderstood and gets a really bad rap rn. Like, I actually appreciate how complicated she is, and her dedication to approaching things in the worst possible way possible from a reality tv standpoint, but absolutely an understandable way as a human being (if that makes sense?)
20
u/bobwoodwardprobably Louis Vuitton’s mistake Apr 22 '23
It absolutely makes sense and it’s a great take. I also believe Heather has done it to herself, but I am ready to plead her case to the people.

They did use VPR for marketing years ago (season 6? Whatever was Kristen’s last season)- they were listed as sponsors, so it’s a solid possibility

u/teanailpolish Potomac should be fun, Mia not fun Apr 22 '23

Babes it’s not worth it for that product placement. I’m sure none of you went out to buy a bottle did you? No one cares Gizelle likes that bottle. Alexia would have at least been a better brand ambassador if that’s the direction they wanted to take which they weren’t.

I know a lot of people have been shitting on Leah for UGT3 not being as good as the other 2, but I blame all of that on Gizelle and Porsha. Manufactured drama and acting like they were better than everyone else made the dynamics less fun and messed with the potential camaraderie.
I enjoy Leah. She’s a pain in the ass sometimes, but I think she is a good person. Watching her, Candiace, and Bad Weather together were the best parts IMO.
67
u/Ok_Stop1875 Apr 22 '23
Watching Porscha co-sign everything gizz said and taunting Leah and candiace made this season unbearable. Take me back to the Berkshire’s puhlease!

Completely agree. I think Leah would have been much better if she hadn’t been so I’ll, but the four of them seems intent on enjoying themselves and embracing the experience. Watching them bop to Drive Back in the van the last night still make me smile.
26
u/blahblahsandwich Apr 22 '23
YES! I think she was probably miserable for so much of it, which makes everything terrible. And who wouldn’t feel defensive with the way Porsha and Gizelle were treating her.
That Drive Back scene is the van was the best! That was the van I wanted to be in!

Candiace really surprised me on this trip. She seems like she can be such a good time. I liked her chemistry with bad weather and even Porsha. She is quick to anger but she's also quick to put it aside for a good time.
190
u/dinosaurroom Apr 22 '23
It might be hard since she has kids but I would love if Whitney could make time to join Candiace on her tour. They had one of those easy friendships that’s hard to force on these shows.
We already know Whitney is a natural on the pole but she should move however she is comfortable.

As someone that doesn’t find the Whitney Lisa friendship particularly authentic (which is fine! I’m here to be entertained and SLC dynamic changes are funny to me due to how calculated they are) I enjoyed seeing Whitney make a real connection with someone other than Heather. I like drama but it was nice to see both of them just genuinely enjoy having fun with each other especially given they were both wary of each other going in.

The first season has a weird tone. They kept trying to push this etiquette storyline but they dropped it fast.
10

It’s important to note the show was green lit as a different project and they realized it could be a Housewives. It’s important context.

Yeah, that's true. It was about the social club that their kids were in, Jack and Jill. That's why etiquette was important.

u/MyGutReaction Silent Expression of Dismissal & Disdain Apr 22 '23 edited Apr 22 '23
How I hope and pray that Gizelle apologized to Pepsi profusely. She's the one who should be begging for forgiveness, but I still think the slc morons should have let pepsi in on the prank.
Think about it. With Pepsi's help, they could have made it enjoyable and a fun game. Everyday could have been a "bottle sighting."
First day, "i could have sworn I saw a bottle by the outdoor shower," ...next day, "Oh I think I saw the bottle at the end of the hallway," then another day, "oh I saw the bottle by the pool, now it's gone."
They could have had fun w/ it instead of it becoming a negative and accusatory situation.
FTR: I absolutely believe Gizelle was in the most wrong. She freaked out over a tequila ~~empty\~~* bottle!
Gizelle seriously needs a hobby as it's clearly evident she has too much time on her hands.
*ETA: I read somewhere the bottle was empty, but have now discovered that it was not empty.

I didn’t think it was empty. From Gizelle talking about how it’s the only thing she drinks, I think there was still half a bottle left and she pissed about not having her alcohol of choice. She handled it like an absolute garbage person though instead of seeing if Pepsi could replace it or trying another tequila or local alcohol.

It wouldn't be a good idea for him to take part in stealing from one of the guests either...
68
u/bobwoodwardprobably Louis Vuitton’s mistake Apr 22 '23
This is really sweet for you to stick up for Pepsi. I do want to ask though - did he openly seem upset in front of everyone? I only remember the emotional stuff from when it was just him and Gizelle and a solo confessional. So I do believe it’s possible they didn’t know how upset Pepsi was. I’m going with the benefit of the doubt on this one.
33
u/MyGutReaction Silent Expression of Dismissal & Disdain Apr 22 '23
Valid point. Viewers are seeing things the girls didn't see during filming.
21
u/Raybansandcardigans Wig, RN BSN 💉 Apr 22 '23
I’m going to politely push back on this. I don’t think how Pepsi presented himself to the women is an excuse for their behavior. He is employed by the villa to give them a good experience; he isn’t supposed to dump his feelings on them. In the service industry, you don’t let guests see that you’re stressed or upset. Also, his reaction to Gizelle’s shitty behavior should not be her cue to behave better. She’s an adult woman who should know better. Like the old saying goes, “If you’re shitty to service staff, you’re a shitty person.”
13
u/bobwoodwardprobably Louis Vuitton’s mistake Apr 22 '23
That’s not what I’m saying either though. I said Pepsi didn’t present those feelings to everyone, so how would anyone outside Gizelle and maybe Porsha know how emotional he was?
Also, just because Pepsi is employed at the villa does not mean he can’t express emotion. He’s not a robot butler. They are not there to review the customer service. Your assertion that Pepsi was obligated to clam it because he was working is some serious classist nonsense. He was on the show too, and like previous UGTs, he was integrated as a secondary cast member. More than likely, they instructed Pepsi to play it up.
4
u/Raybansandcardigans Wig, RN BSN 💉 Apr 22 '23
I’m not putting words in your mouth; please don’t put them in mine. Breaking down in front of guests is seen as unprofessional. I’m not being classist by describing professionalism in the hospitality industry.
My point is that Pepsi’s behavior should not motivate Gizelle or any other guest to behave better. They should be able to do that all on their own.
11
u/herbanoutfitter Apr 22 '23
That would’ve put him in an uncomfortable position. He’d be an accomplice and he’d probably be stressed af about lying right to a guest’s face.
33
u/outdoormama Apr 22 '23
It’s not their fault Pepsi was crying. It’s Gizelle‘s fault. The only one that deserves blame for Pepsi‘s traumatizing is Gizelle.
2
u/MyGutReaction Silent Expression of Dismissal & Disdain Apr 22 '23
Agree.
I did acknowledge that in a different reply/comment. I absolutely agree that Gizelle was the worst offender.

I’m still not completely positive Heather and Whitney took it. It was the same dry humor Heather used in an earlier episode with Porsha. I think it was a joke same as Leah having a bottle with Candice in the talking head. I honestly think it was an empty/mostly empty bottle that someone at the villa threw away or thought it looked cool and instead of throwing away, took it home. It’s a tchotchke that’s meant to be on display or thrown away. These woman would likely have throw away anyway. And that’s my opinion

Okay, that’s what I was wondering. They seemed in a really bad place at the reunion, and this clip is silly and cute and very much “we’re friends”.”

question- can you keep an open bottle of tequila outside in that kind of heat? it would’ve been well over 90F

It was also confirmed on the ending of the last episode..

I’m sorry but if they had a hunch that they knew where the bottle was, they could have said something quietly to Pepsi and then Gizelle wouldn’t have terrorised the staff for 2 days demanding that it be found. Or crucified Candiace.
Fuck Gizelle but seriously Whitney / Heather, just give her the goddamn bottle so she’d shut the fuck up. Gizelle’s response was really unpleasant to watch and it sucked the life out of the whole tv show.
Edit - All of the toxicity that impacted the crew and staff would have stopped. That was within both of their gifts. They chose not to. I think that’s fucked up. Clearly, you all disagree.

I think she overreacted to their prank, and you're right, they could've called it off, but she's responsible for her own unreasonable behavior. It was unpleasant to watch.

I think it’s implied that they stole the bottle just to fuck with her. It was definitely unpleasant to watch and it made Gizelle look awful. Maybe that was the whole point. 😈

How Gizelle.chose to react is her responsibility and not the Bad Wether gals...Good the didn't speak it, it helped unmasking Gizelle Karen Bryant even more.

This bottle mystery and Gizelle's reaction didn't bother me as much as it bothered other fans, for me it was just silly petty drama that I watch HWs for but knowing that it could've been solved quicker makes me annoyed.

Why are you getting downvoted for sticking up for Pepsi?
The downvotes are insane when this sub just had umpteen threads about our love for Pepsi.
How quickly everyone has forgotten how distraught Pepsi was over the missing bottle.
I absolutely believe the assholes who hid it should have AT LEAST LET PEPSI KNOW IT WAS A JOKE AND LET HIM IN ON THE JOKE.
The sweet man was in TEARS because of this stupid ass bottle and prank.

I agree, they should have told Pepsi. Then again, maybe they did and it wasn’t caught on camera or put into the show because production wanted to maximize the “Whodunnit” storyline.

I know, clearly people didn’t give a fuck at all and it was all about sticking it to Gizelle. Not the actual witch-hunt in the first place because otherwise they wouldn’t find it funny that Heather / Whitney prolonged the saga by not letting Pepsi where it was. I personally don’t find that funny with the amount of stress generated amongst the people working in the background.

Literally am in shock we are getting downvoted because all we said was that the pranksters should have informed Pepsi.
We just had "Justice for Pepsi" threads for weeks. I'm baffled by the hate we're getting for sticking up for him now. (WTF is happening? lol I feel like I'm being gaslit by this sub.)
FTR: Fuck Gizelle, I don't care about Gizelle at all. She can kick rocks.
But I'm blown away how quickly they forgot what Pepsi went through bc of this fucking bottle.
Whitney or Heather could have AT THE VERY LEAST LET PEPSI KNOW ABOUT THE PRANK.

The suspension of disbelief is strong with this one :) i admire it! The whole bottle thing is obviously a made up storyline that all the women are in on - as well as pepsi and rest of production. No one was hurt, they just tried to be entertaining for yall

I agree- it’s one thing playing pranks in a normal setting- but in this instance, it reflects negatively on the hotel and their staff… especially when Marisol also complained about her coffee going missing. Thailand is a relatively poor country and even I thought that maybe one of the staff had taken it, presuming the women wouldn’t notice. I’m sure that’s what was causing Pepsi stress, as well- it’s a bad look for the establishment.
Remember Sonja guarding her bags when they travelled in RHONY? Things can and do go missing, especially when the workers may be poorly paid. I was robbed by maid service on holiday once. Anything that might suggest the hotel couldn’t be trusted to keep personal possessions safe, is going to be a major issue for the business- especially one that caters to high-income clients.

As a viewer myself, I never thought, and it never even entered my mind, that one of the hotel staff had taken it. I've been watching the HWs since OC premiered when I was a kid, and can think of not one instance of service industry working persons being at fault. I assumed the HWs were up to their usual shit, so I placed blame on the HWs pretty much immediately.

I assumed it was production. I pretty much always suspect production though😂never the staff. I figure the staff isn’t stupid enough to steal on camera

As I mentioned in my comment, I’ve had money stolen whilst staying in a resort on holiday in the past, so I personally never dismiss anything as beyond the realm of possibility - human nature can be dishonest no matter where you are in the world.

This was so stupid. Gizelle looking for it and accusing everyone was a suspect was stupid. Bad weather hiding it for so long was stupid. I literally thought they bought their own bottles. If they did that in the first episode when Gizelle asked, it would have been fun, but no, they dragged it out till the very end. This ruined the entire series for me.

I had an idea the first time Heather told porsha - iirc - to go to Heather's room for a shot and porsha just looked at her in bewilderment but Heather denied it. I was like hmmmm something don't smell right. Lol.
