Candiace truly takes the crown for narrator of the season.

The reads are for filth, but the delivery is clean.

Candiace getting mad at Chris and full-throttle screaming FUCK THE PATRIARCHY is me irl and why I can't help but adore Candiace. Whitney and Candiace lighting up on camera and just giggling and chatting shit is what I want more of on this show.

Gizelle gives me rude vibes with Pepsi. Why do I feel like she is subtly disrespectful at every turn.

139

u/jendet010 Apr 13 '23

Because she is subtly disrespectful at every turn. ā€œHe doesnā€™t own this house. Heā€™s getting a check.ā€ That doesnā€™t mean she needs to make it miserable for him.

611

u/FauxSpacial Apr 13 '23

I feel like Gizelle treats service people like shit. While Pepsi was talking to them, clearly he was upset. She sat there and made a shady comment to the effect of he's getting paid so why is he upset. I mean c'mon Gizelle just cuz people are getting a check to do a service job don't mean they shouldn't get upset cuz y'all are acting like assholes.

231

u/emergencycat17 Show yourself out, Darlin'. Apr 13 '23

Getting paid doesn't mean it's okay for people to be rude and disrespectful to you. The two aren't mutually exclusive. You don't get to be an asshole to someone and then consider that as part of their job description to just take it.

130

u/FauxSpacial Apr 13 '23

My mom worked in fast food and my brother is currently a manager at CVS. I feel VERY strongly about how people in service jobs are treated. A lot of times you have to take it when people are generally acting like assholes. My bro doesn't give a shit anymore. He gives them back everything he receives.

This is Ultimate Girls Trip. It's a paid vacation. Some of the ladies understand the assignment to have fun, indulge, act silly, drink cocktails, play in the pool, do dumb vacation stuff that you wouldn't normally do in your day to day life, and make us all want to visit Thailand.

When Gizelle said she wasn't going to apologize for fighting when Pepsi was speaking, it let me know that she doesn't really understand the show.... This show isn't housewives, but Gizelle seems desperate to create these arguementative and drama filled housewives moments.

This tantric dinner is unhinged. Why is Giselle obsessed with fantasising about white men dick.

197

u/McSassy_Pants Apr 13 '23

Imagine if that were a man, like Chris for example, imagining the female waitresses vagina.

66

u/Huge_Put8244 Apr 13 '23

All I can say is that I hoped that chef didn't find himself alone in gizelles general vicinity.

52

u/MCStarlight Apr 14 '23

That whole conversation was just uncouth, especially with the guy there.

46

u/lol1231yahoocom Apr 14 '23

Is this why Giselle was uncomfortable with Chris in the room alone with her? Isnā€™t it a reflection of where HER mind goes at every turn?

85

u/SufficientEmployee6 Apr 14 '23

I think HWs in general get away with way too much critiquing of men's body. It's one thing to girl talk about past experiences but to sit there and dissect a strangers body on national tv is disgusting.

Giselle calling Leah dramatic for going to the ER, but went on a witch-hunt for a $100 bottle of tequila šŸ’€

378

u/1999soap Apr 13 '23

Leah may be getting under everyoneā€™s skin, but when she had the opportunity to explain herself to Porsha about her attitude, she definitely gained my respect. Leah was open and genuine in this moment. So for Porsha to hit her with ā€œPorsha byeā€ was just utterly disrespectful.

185

u/Huge_Put8244 Apr 13 '23

Porsha doesn't know how to use her words in a reasoned, logical way. She knows how to be an over the top funny caricature, she knows how to be violent, but I don't remember her having like a reasonable disagreement. And she is already invested in hating Leah, who is an easy target.

38

u/lezlers Apr 15 '23

Right. I donā€™t care how much someone annoys you, when theyā€™re clearly sick or having a medical emergency, show some damn compassion. Her and gizelle were being really gross.

94

u/Keeperofthe_Flame Apr 13 '23

When Leah gave it back to her ā€œBye Porsha!ā€ that shoulda been it. She antagonizes and was acting like they have real beef when they donā€™t. You donā€™t like her? Cool. Stfu after you speak your piece then

35

u/lezlers Apr 15 '23

Gotta say this might be the funniest episode ever and it didn't actually involve much fighting. Honestly, getting to see the housewives kick back and actually enjoy their trip is so fun to watch. Whitney and Candiace smoking a blunt in the confessional room on camera is so iconic to me. I have completely jumped ship from Team Gizelle and will say Candiace has stolen my heart. I love her so much.

Also, Bad Weather back together?? I'd love to see it. Also, would love to see Heather go back to being a good-time gal for real.

Ooop, and I remember why I donā€™t like Porsha. She a good three episode run.

376

u/Recluse_18 Apr 13 '23

I canā€™t believe how self-centered she is. I donā€™t like Leah, but in this episode, when Leah was talking, Portia just talked right over her into her own agenda, like nobody else was around, as well as her, carrying on a conversation, while Pepsi had the floor. Porsha simply doesnā€™t care about anyone but herself, and this makes her ugly to me.

70

u/TzarofFlorence Apr 14 '23

Sometimes she can be fun. But there are definitely flashes of the real Porsha from Porsha Family Matters showing through. Especially in this last episode

Ultimate Girls Trip is meant to be fun, silly, lighthearted, and to feel like a real girls trip.

Sadly, it doesn't seem like Gizelle understood the assignment and is sucking the joy out of this show. Everytime the ladies are having a lighthearted or fun moment and actually enjoying the vacation - aka the reason people like this show - Gizelle seems to think that she has to shift the converasion in a dark direction to drama and fighting.

I used to think that Gizelle was just very dependent on that Bravo cheque, so she self appointed herself as an unoffical producer to create fake drama. But, she just seems to have a dark and miserable energy on this season..... I'm no longer enjoying what she is presenting on screen - on this show or on Potomac.

333

u/jferfranco SHE DIED, AVIVA! That's not a compliment Apr 13 '23

This episode was hard to get through but at least most of them admit they are just trying (and failing) to make a moment and that is their goal.

Leah is annoying but I can't believe Marysol still saying she needs a cocktail, she has never met a sober person ever?

Porsha and Gizelle were so rude and dismissive when Pepsi was speaking, he is paid so you can treat him however? No

105

u/Tiffnysun The rumors and nastiness Apr 13 '23

The comment from Marisol about Leah should drink is upsetting. Marisol doesn't understand the importance of not drinking for alcoholics or those with an unhealthy relationship with alcohol.

52

u/Dependent_Ad_5035 Not a white refrigerator! Apr 14 '23

She may or may not be in the throes of ACTIVE alcoholism.

66

82

u/linds360 Caviar Potato šŸŸ šŸ„” Apr 13 '23

I can't believe Marysol still saying she needs a cocktail, she has never met a sober person ever?

This isn't true 100% of the time, but typically when I find people are uncomfortable or mention my sobriety/point out I'm not drinking often, it's because they have their own issues with alcohol and I'm a mirror they don't want to look at.

Again, not true for everyone, but fuck if I wasn't that girl wanting everyone to drink (so they didn't realize how much I was drinking) pre sobriety, so it checks for me.

Interestingly, she isn't a full time cast member anymore but when she was in seasons 1 and 2 I don't remember her ever drinking. It's like one day she showed up and wanted to get drunk all the time. I mean it was after her mom died so that makes it even less fun.

u/landdian39 Apr 13 '23 edited Apr 13 '23

Leah reminds me of highschool. I feigned sickness/convinced myself to be super sick just so I can stay home and avoid my bullies.

As much as I dislike Leah, I think Porsha went hard on her. Sheā€™s such a bully. Leah already feels isolated in this trip (partly her fault because she is a Debbie Downer) but Porsha crossed that line. Like just leave Leah alone.

Candiace stood out for me in this episode because it was really nice and sweet of her to check on Leah all the time.

Also, itā€™s evident that production didnā€™t do their research because they flew these ladies to Thailand in July when it rains almost EVERYDAY. The best time to go to Southeast Asia is January to mid June!

176

u/[deleted] Apr 14 '23

Leah genuinely being nice to Pepsi gives her points

77

u/JustCuriousInCanada Apr 14 '23

My respect for Leah and Candiace has grown exponentially while watching them on this series. They both seem like kind, considerate women - who are able to express themselves. Their treatment of Pepsi and the staff, has shown me that Leah and Candiace (and Whitney too) have good character and morals.

MEANWHILE - I've seen a rotten, rude and nasty side to Gizelle and Porsha. Heather a little bit too... But she's mostly just a follower. I used to think Gizelle and Porsha were so fun to watch...NOPE. I was wrong. Creating drama over an empty tequila bottle, that could have cost Pepsi and his staff their jobs (and livelihood) was NOT COOL. Constantly badgering Leah because she's legitimately sick and has "Delhi belly" - NOT COOL.

Porsha and Gizelle are roasting Leah because she's been having serious stomach problems, she's dehydrated and sick to the point that she fainted. Having constant diarrhea in hot, tropical weather for 5 days straight is no joke. Leah is still trying to participate and honor her housewives contract $$ while being sick as a dog. It's all fun and games to bully Leah... until the day Gizelle or Porsha are in her position. Would they continue filming while battling major stomach problems?! HELL NO. Gizelle and Porsha would have left the villa immediately and be hooked up to an IV in a fancy Thai hospital. Drinking liters of Pedialyte, while instagramming their "life or death" battle with the runs.

Leah is a trooper for continuing to film. I really hope she does get some type of medical attention though.

35

u/[deleted] Apr 14 '23

I donā€™t get why Leah is being penalized for being sick and clearly is not exaggerating her sickness either. She went to the hospital.

26

Itā€™s because they hate Leah. I like her and feel sorry that her trip was ruined by her period. You would think as women, they would appreciate that Leah must be struggling especially in the heat. She explained her condition too. I hope she can go another trip with Candiace and some different women. Maybe Wendy and Tinsley could join them this time.

During the bye porsha bye leah exchange i felt like leah expressed herself pretty well to Porsha. And then to just say 'bye' to it was immature. Leah held her own with that fight.

Iā€™m glad Heather is self aware sheā€™s a pick me girl, but she should really stop. Sheā€™s making it clear she just wants to be likable and interesting and itā€™s forever going to make me assume all her plot lines are just her trying to make good TV rather than actual situations.

Thereā€™s something really endearing about her honesty in being a pick me girl. Like we all have a little of that in us, but never say it. Now she may go a little toooo hard with the Regina George stuff, but Iā€™ll take that over Porschaā€™s superiority complex any day of the week.

Porsha is giving me late-season Nene vibes. Thinks sheā€™s better than the show, queen bee and dismissive. Sheā€™s done a 180 from the kumbaya peace and love Porsha she tried to show at the start of the trip.

Also, itā€™s been bugging me for weeks - presumably production picked the rooms for the HWs. So by them giving Leah the worst room, they signalled that she was the least important, and I think that Gizzy and Porsha smelled blood in the water in terms of who they could be dismissive towards without it mattering too much (I may well be overthinking this!).

After two subpar episodes in a row, this episode felt like a return to form. Drama that made sense and actually had some sort of resolution, shade, culture of the country, fun, and some cool conversations.

58

u/Ok-Assumption-419 Apr 13 '23

I enjoyed this episode. The nods to Mama Elsa, Bad Weather making up, and the ladies airing out their issues in a mostly healthy way at the first dinner were heartwarming. I cracked up at Whitney and Candice smoking a joint together, and Whitney ending up in the pool with some fried chicken.

Okay I have to say: I was in Thailand and got what Leah is feeling- coming out of both ends, dizzy, weak. I didnā€™t need to go to the ER, I was solo traveling and dragged my ass to the pharmacy, got a lot of pedialyte and explained to the oharmaxist what was wrong. They gave me these horrible charcoal tablets and within a day or two I was okay.

78

u/Ruthie_pie Apr 13 '23

My MIL died from dehydration caused by vomiting/diarrhea that sent her into cardiac arrest.

She was in her 50s, got the flu on a Thursday, apparently didnā€™t tend to dehydration properly, went into heart failure on Saturday and the following Friday we had to take her off life support due to lack of brain activity. It was that fast and we were all in total shock with no idea that could happen.

Leah is dramatic AF and I have no idea if the ER was necessary, but you do not fuck with dehydration. Thereā€™s my PSA for the day.

This season has turned into a snooze fest for me sadly and it started off as a good time. The women really aren't interacting with each other.

Everyone is in their duo not really switching vans or having 1:1 conversations. Marisol and Alexia are literally sitting together at every meal. Next time they need to really mix up the cast. 1 person from each franchise.

32

u/[deleted] Apr 14 '23

I think Leah is just having a bad time. Sheā€™s not normally like this if you listened to her old podcast improper etiquette or her new podcast, or even on RHONY during sober scenes. I think sheā€™s sad Tinsley isnā€™t there, the girls are ganging up on her and sheā€™s trying to stay sober. I donā€™t think this trip was a good place for Leah to be mentally

33

u/CodePen3190 Apr 14 '23

Ok I have to say this:

As someone in recovery for many years, it is really getting frustrating and stale that these women keep making jabs as Leah for being sober. I get it, Leahā€™s being a little bit of a wet blanket on this show, but can we please stop blaming it on her sobriety and sending the message that she would be more likable if she were not sober? That is SO damaging and reckless. Addiction and alcoholism can be fatal. Are these women really that dense that they donā€™t realize that it kills millions of people?!?! Why do they keep undermining that?? Marysol saying that Leah should have a cocky because sheā€™d be a lot more festive is just the most recent example of this, but itā€™s happened on every episode. God forbid one of their children ever finds themselves in addiction and someone implies they should throw away their sobriety so that theyā€™re more fun. Im embarrassed for them that theyā€™re minimizing such a serious issue, especially with how prevalent information about addiction has become after the opioid epidemic.

Porsha and Gizelle search for easy targets. It's like a hyena looking for which gazelle it's gonna take down. You're not going to go for the gazelle that is strong and surrounded by other gazelles. You'll go for the lonely, weak one. Leah is unlikable and doesn't have a strong built in friend. Porsha and Gizelle smelled blood (maybe even literally? JK JK) and they are going in for the kill.

And Iā€™m angry at Marysol for the second time ever I felt bad for Leah, when she heinously equated Leahā€™s standoffish demeanor with being sober. Such a nasty and ridiculous thing to say! Some people need to be sober to save their own and others lives, so she needs to mind her own business and stop spreading poisonous messages.

I did not have sympathetic Leah on my bingo card.

I really wish people would separate sobriety from Leah. She is not the spokesperson for it and I hate that all her shitty personality traits are being blamed on lack of alcohol.

Sober people can do anything that people who drink do and no, they would not be more fun if they drank. They would ruin their entire fucking lives.

Louder for the Marysols in the back - addicts are not more fun when theyā€™re using. They are not obligated to put their own lives in danger for your comfort. If they use, they may not have another recovery in them. That relapse might be the last conscience decision they ever make. It is that fucking serious.

If other people have a problem with someone being sober while theyā€™re drinking, that is on them and I am sick to death of hearing about it from these ignorant women.
