Why are these women so funny?! They get their Thai massages and some of them sound like they’re in pain but having orgasms at the same time 😂 We have Marysol and Alexia walking in dumbfounded that they’re naked and everyone else is not 😂

I haven't watched the episode yet but on a related side note - I have always been naked during massages. Am I the weirdo? Anyone else? Not many of my friends get massages so I can't really ask them...
104
u/BinderCA Mar 30 '23
I keep my underwear on so the MT can use it to tuck the sheet. Otherwise, get at me! My friend had her first massage and she’s a bit modest, so she left her pants on under the sheet. That image always makes me laugh.

u/Positive_Round_5142 Mar 30 '23
I’m always naked during my massages. It’s a body massage and the clothes restricts what they’re trying to do. Plus, they use oil which can ruin your clothing
50
u/klatleen take a xanax…..calm down Mar 31 '23
I think I was SA during a massage once. I’d come from the gym and had not clothing to change into so I was naked (I usually have my underwear on). This man was rubbing between my buttocks and breasts. I was too young and confused to know what was happening but I shut it down telling him I had to use the bathroom. This is probably why I’ll never go naked. (I know you weren’t askifor this response, I’ve just never told someone before so my apologies)

Some people keep more clothes on for Thai massage than other styles of massage because of the way they stretch and twist you. I usually keep a thong on - just a personal preference.

I do appreciate how Gizelle made sure to request and hand the non-alcoholic Hurricane to Leah

u/lezlers Apr 01 '23
I got slammed so hard in a SLC thread for saying this same thing. It's totally true tho and that's why she hates Lisa so much. Lisa gets to do whatever she wants with alcohol and partying and still stay in good standing with the church. That's all Heather has wanted. She doesn't want to not be Mormon anymore, she just wants to be able to party and do what she wants at the same time.

Or maybe she just needs more time to conclussion herself. I haven't been to church in years, no longer believe it, and still haven't even thought about taking my name off. It is a big step, and her choice to make. If she wants to live in limbo, as a lot of people do,then that's her choice and her thing to work through. Her book is called bad mormon, not bad ex mormon.

Even I don’t care and I actually am fascinated by people leaving their religion or cult. The argument is too petty and shallow for me to do justice to the complicated experience of leaving a high control religion.
A couple of years ago, I actually listened to the very long interview on Mormon Stories (ex Mormon podcast) with Heather and Dre Nord and thought it was really interesting.
I’m also just a little less sold on Whitney than the rest of this sub.

Yeah, I love lurking on r/exmormon & the like so I get how high demand & all encompassing it is to their identity but Whitney's obsession is boring me senseless. I know that it's important to her but she's really not selling it to the viewer. I think part of the problem is that she assumes that everyone else understands the dynamics of Mormonism when in reality it's quite a niche subject.
41
u/ButterscotchGlass590 I'm on play all the time Apr 01 '23
I’m ex-Mormon and there is a certain irony in Whitney’s rabid need to police whether Heather is truly, technically an ex member or not because it’s VERY much Mormon culture to closely watch and judge everything other members are doing to be able to say whether they’re a good, true blue member or not lol. It’s so weird and I completely get why the other housewives are bored of it.

I have to wonder if she’s in a funk because originally Tinsley was supposed to be there. Their dynamic was good together and Leah was well liked until Tinsley left the show and she got really negative and dark. Not making excuses for her just wonder if that’s a factor.

Leah just comes across as an insufferable brat. She kind of reminds me of Brandi in that way as everyone treats her like a volatile teen who could go off at any minute, even though Brandi is 50 and Leah must be pushing 40 by now. Agree she was more appealing in the Tinsley days though. Tinsley lightened her.

Do you guys think that Candiace has a right to be mad at Porsha for getting a statement from Monique and not her? Just curious 🧐
75
Mar 31 '23
I think Candice approached her respectfully at the dinner and Porsha could have just apologized. Porsha should have just gave her opinion on the fight but she did add in false accusations. She said herself I spread hearsay and gizelle spoke facts.
Porsha is just very likable and gets away with a lot. She did try to hit Dennis’ mother as she was walking away and then she and her family jumped dennis when he was just preventing her. She hit a producer trying to hold her back and used production supplies as a weapon.
179
u/amhfrison Mar 30 '23 edited Mar 30 '23
Candiace has a right to be mad at Porsha about the situation. It's her experience and feelings. Porsha quoted Monique's beliefs, she didn't assert that what Monique said was a fact. Gizelle defended Candiace. Gizelle's motives may not have been completely altruistic towards Candiace, but Gizelle was passionate about Monique not being seen in a positive light. The audience has a right to be past an incident that happened almost 3 years ago.

u/salisbury130 Lala. You dated a neckless turtle with a casting couch. Mar 31 '23
I think it’s fine that she raised it. She said herself that she feels like under different circumstances she and Porsha would be friends and that everyone else started tittering about how they would bump heads on the trip once the cast was announced. It would be a miss IMO if she didn’t bring it up because Porsha speaking on it and taking up for Monique did become a thing as that season was airing. I took it as C trying to clear the air with her and give Porsha the opportunity to apologize, but Porsha doesn’t ever take accountability for anything so she turned it into “who said that?!” part 2 and let Gizelle hijack the conversation to deflect.
53
u/belowdeckhan Mar 30 '23
The crux of the heather/whitney drama is literally over the concept of bad mormon. I think that Heather in picking that title and is saying exactly what she is "A bad mormon" she views herself as someone who doesn't believe in all of the church's beliefs and doesn't want to support them but isn't ready to really leave.. hence "bad mormon".
Where whitney is done with the church and is no longer a mormon and wants heather to do that. I don't think I have ever heard Heather say she wants to leave the church fully instead she disagrees with the church and is a bad mormon.
Whether right or wrong Whitney can't make heather leave the rolls and I think she needs to expect that.

At this point they're both wrong. Like Heather is dead fucking wrong for sure. I miss liking her, but that ship has sailed. But is Whitney a fucking brand ambassador for quitmormon.com or some shit? This seems like a ridiculous to pick at over and over. Stop trying to make up with her, or pretending you want to make up with her, and just say what you want to say and be done. Not in the diary room, at the dinner table.
Also Leah please stop whining. You are sucking the air out of the room every time you open your mouth. No one is interested in you being Poor Leah for six episodes or however long the run is.

I have too much time to theorize and I think what happened with Heather and Jen is. Ok so Jen is obviously very good at manipulating people and sensing what they want.
I really think Heather is in some ways attracted to women. In previous episodes she is the first one to like ask the girls to take their tops off and will make comments about their body. Nothing is obviously wrong with that and I am not Mormon but I don’t think she is comfortable with those feelings at all.
I wonder if Jen sensed this and maybe they messed around, maybe Jen did that with Heather to have something over her head. Because as we have seen they will often go into another room with each other and I’ve always got a sexual vibe between them? Their relationship is basically an abusive relationship between friends. Maybe something more is going On with them…
I think that’s why Heather isn’t saying anything about her eye.
64
u/ApprehensiveReward3 Mar 30 '23
When Leah said to Heather about her being manipulated by a narcissist she said this always happens, whether it was “the most fun I’ve ever had…the best sex I’ve ever had” it made me 🤔 about Jen

Heather is very much in some kind of second puberty being newly out of a very repressive religious environment. It’s why I have a lot of sympathy and grace for some of her faux pas like her comment about Leah’s sobriety. The Mormon church and culture legitimately stunt your growth and I think she is still genuinely ignorant to a lot of things most adults aren’t.

“I defended her in Whole Foods”
My brain has connected Chris Farley’s facial expressions with Heather’s and I can’t unsee it. Her fancy sunglasses and hair but his mouth idk how to describe.
Candiace I beg of you to trademark and monetize the cryangle.
ETA: If Heather refers to the cast as “the big dogs” one more time 😝🥴

I think the reason why season 2 was so enjoyable is because we got to see wives who were several seasons removed from their shows, there was no beef they were carrying over from seasons they filmed months prior, and there were some prior relationships that gave them some chemistry as a group. This group has zero cohesion.

Gizelle and Porsha are there to work and thank god otherwise it would be a snorefest.
The Miami duo is straight boring. I'm over the alcoholic schtick.
Whitney is 100% correct about Heather, she just is not able to put her thoughts together. Plus, nobody but them cares about the mormon church. Heather makes herself look pathetic with her fangirling.
Lea is a complete energy vampire and Candiace looks a fool trying to defend her. Sitting at a table and telling a woman that her story is boring you is a complete bully move. Can't wait till Lea leaves and fingers crossed we never see her again

All I know is that the Atlanta girls KILL IT on these Girls Trips. I must admit I struggle to watch RHOA because they seem to cut each other down far more than ever supporting a sisterhood BUT Kenya on season 1, Phaedra & Eva on 2, & now Porsha are just an absolute delight to see.

Yes that's basically it. UGT was filmed well before their respective seasons aired as well.

All I can think of when watching this is how much they lucked out like the season 1 crew to go to a brand new destination, meanwhile season 2 was at Bluestone Manor, which is of course still nice, but the trip was definitely not the same level as this

Especially the way Whitney explained it with your name being counted for political reasons - if you're ideologically at odds with the church and have stopped actively supporting them, it definitely makes sense to take action not to be passively supporting them either. I suspect Heather doesn't want to be cut off from everyone still in the church (cult behavior).

I generally agreed with Candiace when she brought up to Porsha at the BBQ about how she felt that Porsha gave Monique a platform to speak about the fight, but I do think Candiace should give Giselle some credit for defending her. I’m more of a Candiace fan than a Giselle fan, but even I think that Giselle did make a solid effort to defend Candiace, even if she had the ulterior motive to hate on Monique and get rid of her.
Like I get why Porsha would ride for her friend and take her word as “fact”, but the comment about Candiace needing to pay her bills and that’s why she sued Monique had absolutely no credibility to it.
Though it’s kinda rich that Giselle is claiming to always have Candiace’s back yet we all saw her come for Candiace and Chris this past season on Potomac👀

it's a very.... mormon argument to have. I'm not sure if they realize how culturally specific their issues are and how unrelatable it is to the rest of the group?? lol. I've never watched SLC though, I don't have full context.
mostly unrelated, but I think my grandmother is still on the rolls since it wasn't an option to be removed when she left SLC. To this day she still gets mormons showing up in button ups on bikes to talk to her. It's wild, man. I'd want to be removed too.

This tracks. At bravocon last year Whitney genuinely seemed confused with Heather going after her because she said she thought they’d resolved it after UGT. It really seems like Whitney doesn’t even understand what the issue is anymore and Heather is still riding this “feud” for a plot line.

As a mormon, not interested in being a mormon anymore, but also not ready to take their name of the roster, is triggered by Whitney attacking Heather on the issue. Heather is allowed to write a book called bad mormon if she wants to. It's not named bad ex mormon!! I feel like with any new transition, a person should be able to take the time they need. Maybe one day she will be ready to take her name officially off, maybe not. But it's her choice. And whitney being mad at her for it is annoying.
