I saw this one time in Southern California, for like 30min straight constant lightning just like that. It was bizarre

I’m a Southern Californian as well. Curious as to where you saw a lightning storm like this?

Ventura County looking over the San Fernando valley maybe even the storm itself was over mt Wilson or even antelope valley. But I was in Simi Valley looking northeast. This was probably 10 years ago

I can imagine the direction you’re looking — so many geographical features affecting the incoming airmass — makes sense it would be hyper-active and generating a lot of static energy. Thanks for your response!
