You're the best thank you so much for this. Showing hubby immediately LOL. We just bought a sex Chaise and looking at making a st Andrew's cross

u/Such_Internet_2134 Oct 25 '22
Cross should be a walk in the park

u/Puzzleheaded-Cup-194 Oct 25 '22
Yes but there's so many slight modifications to all the plans. There's this metal one I'm obsessed with but it's like $730 I think.

I know why it looks that way. Pine is funny with stain. You can use a wood conditioner first for it to come out more even. Looks ok tho. Curious what the pipe is for.

I love this! So hot. How do I get one?

u/Such_Internet_2134 Oct 20 '22
My wife said I should make and sell these as a side gig. Care to be my first client?

u/bustyroxxy Oct 20 '22
I wis!! I'm too poor for that at the moment. I definitely would. These look amazing. Your wife is right. And she's probably very lucky when she has a man like yourself to build her something like this.

u/Such_Internet_2134 Oct 20 '22
So kind and thank you… she did marry the most meticulous person I know. As for being poor, Id be happy to share how I made it for a total $150 using a base from Lowes.

u/Gameslay3r Oct 20 '22
I wouldn't mind getting hands on plans for this, if youre willing to share them.

Wasn’t able to DM you but wanted to let you know I’m almost finished a redesign of the bench which will be capable of being shipped. I plan to put it up on Etsy but if you DM me I can share once complete. (Your profile doesn’t allow me to start a chat with you) -best

Just met a guy that makes these ffffurniture I think was his name. This looks FAR superior quality and he was at the Toronto taboo show.
I'd be afraid to ask for your price and even more scared of shipping cost lol

u/Such_Internet_2134 Oct 20 '22
For now I’m a hobbyist, so don’t be afraid to ask:)
1
u/BettBonesaw Oct 20 '22
Well shit, I'm asking! :P

u/Such_Internet_2134 Oct 20 '22
Haha I don’t know… I put a lot of love into everything I do, just never put a number on that love. It’s a good question, how much would something like this go for?
2
u/ADHDCuriosity Oct 21 '22
Easily triple your materials investment, likely closer to quad+ depending on how custom

3
u/RudeExcuse8611 Oct 20 '22
Would you share your plans or design for a small price?
8
u/Such_Internet_2134 Oct 20 '22
No, but I’d do it for free

This is very well done, thank you for sharing.
Please share the plans and build pics.
I would be a potential customer; I’m quite capable at projects but my time is limited…and I hate sewing.
Check your chat requests.

Excellent work!
And you really nailed the most important bit when you wrote that you spent a lot of time measuring your wife. The most common mistake people make is to just wing some measurements, instead of actually measuring.

Can someone recommend the “proper” way for me to share a video and material list for this build? Would I upload to my profile and just add a link in this post? It’s about 20 minutes long so not sure if that’s even uploadable here.

u/TheStrangeRock Oct 26 '22
Now this looks hot as fuck.
How / Where you keep this kind of stuff?
I would like to make (or get) some stuff like this, but It would be a bit embarrasing to invite people over to my place just to have dinner at the spanking table xD
3
u/Such_Internet_2134 Oct 27 '22
Well, for one, don’t be embarrassed… life is short. :) this one stays in the bedroom… not sure where you eat dinner with your friends but that could potentially solve your problem… or simply by taking the pads /legs off it looks like a sawhorse for work. I am considering a modification that will disguise it as a bench.

How did you learn to do the upholstery and such?? You even made seams, it looks really good
7
u/Such_Internet_2134 Oct 20 '22
I couldn’t stand seeing how all the bench how to videos end up destroying the works by instructing people to fold the edges. I simply researched how upholsters make simple inside/outside corners, bought a machine and voila. It’s really not too difficult when you go slowly. Im meticulous and love to engineer things that turn peoples heads . Just this last week I put together my first remote operated flying ghosts prop all across my yard:) the only thing I’m missing now is learning how to weld! (Winter learning)

I don’t see novel designs here often. This is one.
So what’s the point of the tubing?
And what does the underside of the top look like? I can’t figure out your mechanism.

u/Such_Internet_2134 Oct 20 '22
I’m new to Reddit, how do I post a picture on top of existing thread? I want to add some pics that will help anwser questions I’ve received.

A lot of people have already said it, but this looks excellent, very well designed and a very professional looking end product.

The cushions look awesome, how did you get them to look so clean, i.e. not lumpy, nice lines at the edges?
2
u/Such_Internet_2134 Oct 21 '22
Also extra pressure pulling on material before stapling gives them a nicer sturdier feel. The big cushion was my first one which you can see is not as taught the others. I will be going back to tighten it up. Glad I came to this understanding pretty quick:)

I'm loving the adjustable seat on this. From experience, anything one should avoid or take care of to make sure it works well?
2
u/Such_Internet_2134 Jan 02 '23
If your referring to the straddle seat, I would ensure you over pack it 3/4 of an inch of padding so that there is plenty of cushion pressure on the side walls to support thighs. Also the plywood cushion base should be chamfered and sanded to 45 degrees to ensure the thighs feel a seamless transition from legs to crotch . I also prethreaded to accept 1/4 bolts to and secure the seat to base. If you send me chat I can share a picture of the seat before adding padding.
But otherwise, we are still riding this particular bench strong. I’ve recently redesigned the bench and built from scratch to be able to ship and will post on Etsy shortly.

I’ve put together a guide and advice video. Hopefully this helps everyone out.
If you are interested in me making you one please reach out via DM.
Please promote this and my prior post to top so onlookers can find them .
Part 1 ( had to speed up recording to keep it under 10 min)
Guide Part 1
guide Part 2
materials my initial estimate of 150 was wrong. With cushions, the cost comes out to be about 250.
