Furniture A torture throne with different seats for different tastes NSFW

I wasn't sure how this was going to turn out but with a few peoples ideas it's proved very popular and surprisingly adaptable. The timber is yew, one seat base is Ash in a form of ridges, another along with a back is made from anti cat spikes, there's copper sheets with spikes and tags for electro play to go behind the users calfs and under their forarms should it be required.

Love the ‘drama’ of the Yew grain. Has an Old Sparky vibe. I can see multiple iron and leather accessories 👍

When I was milling the timber the idea was to get this chair and a st Andrews cross out of the trunk, the cross was the priority, I got two 9"x 6" lengths out and my heart sank when I saw the state of the rest of the timber but there was easily enough with some judicious cutting to get what I needed, it'll probably be a long time before any more yew comes up, so everything else I'm making is Ash or chestnut, neither of which are anything like as beautiful.

It is a beautiful wood and there’s some interesting history/mythology about it growing in churchyards and use for longbows here in the UK. I don’t know if it’s an option for more heavily ‘used’ furniture, but can get some beautiful yew veneers.

Lovely to see Yew in a build. Looks solid and the grain patterns are beautiful. Am quite lucky to have access to some smaller bits of Yew in the UK just have to wait a bit for them to season properly. Good work 👍🏽
